Chapter 40: Beware of daylight monsters

We only managed to get a few hours of sleep before we were woken up by Monica at the crack of dawn. Although it was only a few hours of rest, the twins and I looked arguably better than the rest of the protectors who looked sleep deprived and terrified. I understood their fear but failed to get why they would deny themselves sleep. As soon as Leon spotted me she made her way to me. I was given a bone crushing embrace with no warning. Bewildered I turned to my friends for an explanation but they all mirrored my surprise.

"I had the worst nightmare, then I woke up and realized that reality was even worse. This is all so hopeless. So please let me just hold you. Your presence is the only comforting thing I can think of."
