Getting in the way
"Ethel what?!"
Kayla's eyes widened in disbelief when she heard that. Although she expected there to be people stronger than Ethel, she didn't expect someone to actually be able to overwhelmingly defeat her.
"How is she?! Was she really injured or something?"
Kayla stood up from her seat and grabbed Dirk by the shoulders tightly.
"N-no, from what I've heard, although her injuries were quite severe, the academy healed them perfectly."
Dirk looked at Kayla in surprise. It was the first time he had seen her so upset.
Especially since Kayla was a rather quiet girl, only cracking the occasional joke from time to time. Seeing her with trembling eyes was an odd experience.
"Sigh… So I guess she's okay?!"
Kayla asked, her voice heavier than usual.
"Yeah, she's even participated in the odd fight since her defeat! Dirk removed Kayla's hands from his shoulders, which seemed to have broken under Kayla's strength..."
