After my death

I am a hero who was born and forged in war. I was born to fight the enemies of the kingdom. But now I am an enemy of the kingdom. Because I never expected the kingdom to betray me when I no longer served them. And now I am reborn as a dark elf. The race I fought as a hero. And I will do everything I can to kill those who betrayed me. _______________________ Hello, I am the author. I've actually written about 15 different synopses but nothing convinces me.

So what if some people die?

The goddess who created them gave me a mission to kill them.

Humans sell each other out to maintain their power.

When I lived as a hero, I saw thousands of people burned at the stake sent by the Inquisitors for not accepting the teachings of the Church.

Soldiers rape and pillage the villages of neighboring cities.

Bandits, looking for an easy way out of their poverty, kill and plunder other people.

Merchants cheat as many as they can to increase their wealth.

And the villagers, so easily deceived, can trample on those who care for them, just because someone else said so.

I myself have been human and have seen it all.

Now I am not even human. I am still no better than any human being.

I too plunder and kill for my own gain.

And I apologize, I am sorry for those who suffer because of my need.

I don't like killing everything I see, and I certainly don't like making them suffer. At least i think so

But I will bear these sins. All for my vengeance, all for my peace.

If I complete my mission, my revenge will be complete and i could die in peace

I know what I have to do to provoke an entire war to destroy the Church, and I am not so stupid as to think that it will not affect the innocent.

It bothers me a little to know that they will suffer, but that is all that remains of my attachment to humanity.

I am an elf now. I have to take care of my people, and most importantly, I have to take care of myself.

I would have laughed if someone had told me when I was a hero that I would end up on the side of the enemy.

All my thoughts were interrupted by some rude people. The soldiers who were guarding the wall are now in front of me.

With their weapons drawn, they think they have a chance.

There are all 5 of them, so I don't have to search for them.

One of them attacks me, raising his axe above his head and bringing it down with a heavy blow.

With my eyes on the axe, I raise my hand and have the axe cut into my hand. I don't care, it's not really my hand.

The axe is trapped when it cuts off my arm at the elbow.

With my other hand, I grab the soldier's face and set it on fire with essence.

I watch his helmet melt into his head with complete indifference.

I no longer feel anything for killing him. Better yet, I've regained my state of mind from when I was the hero and killed elves with the same indifference.

Not exactly the same state of mind, because before I wouldn't let someone die with their head burned off, I'd just cut off their head.

But I think my current consciousness is better. More effective for fighting.

When I look at the other 4, all I see is pure horror on their faces. Fear of their burned friend and fear of my lack of reaction to getting my arm cut in half.

Like I said, not my body, not my problem.

Releasing the burned soldier, I pull the axe from my arm, spilling my blood onto the ground.

This body doesn't have much time left.

I place my remaining hand on my back and begin to create 4 steel needles with essence.

The soldiers are still fully alert with their weapons raised.

With the needles in my back, I throw them all at once.

Three of them hit the soldiers' heads and the last one went through the shoulder of the only one left alive, causing him to fall to the ground.

As I walked towards him, I grabbed a sword from the ground and stabbed him in the chest, piercing his heart.

That's it, it's better to end here.

Dispossessing the body, I let it fall to the ground as I step out into my soul form.

My soul form is now completely black, like the void where I met Decrea, and no longer human, my soul no longer looks like Ezekiel, but like Marcus.

New identity, new soul I guess.

When I possess my body again, I notice that I am extremely tired. It seems that possession is not as easy as I thought.

It takes a heavy toll on the body.

I can't afford to rest anyway, after the massacre I committed, any pedestrian trying to pass the checkpoint will alert the military base.

Lifting my body with all my strength, I leave the cave and run towards the base.

There I see the body of the officer I possessed, all mangled over a huge pool of blood. I wanted to see if I could talk to him, but I seem to have no luck.

Ignoring the rest of the post, I make my way to the mine, which shouldn't be far according to my map.

I pull out the fatigue potion the Count gave me earlier and take it to avoid falling from battle fatigue.

It's very good, it restores almost all my energy at once.

The mine is ahead, I can see it from here.

There are not even any soldiers there, and its previous defense was lax.

The Empire always believed that no one would dare attack their mountain ranges, but that kind of arrogance is stupid.

Ignoring the elves is a costly mistake.

Hiding in a nearby cave, I return to my soul form to investigate.

There are no soldiers, but there are paths leading up the mountain, probably armed so that the military base can come quickly in case of emergency.

There is the merchant from before. The man enters the mine with his personal guards and a few miners. They are all without rank.

They seem to be in the middle of an excavation, as the village around the mine entrance is rather empty.

I won't even bother to complicate things, my mission is simply to destroy the mine.

Getting back to my body as quickly as possible, I stand up and start running towards the mine.

Summoning a mace, I run into the mine and meet some workers.

I hit them with the mace, sending them flying and crashing into the walls and pillars.

A little further on, I come to a long corridor that only goes down.

I use my mace to destroy every support that holds the mine in place and turn towards the entrance, doing the same to every one I find. When I come out, I finish destroying the supports at the entrance and use earth magic to deform the hardened earth that has accumulated between the rocks.

All of this will cause the mine to collapse like dominoes from the outside in.

The job is done. Even if the soldiers from the base come and rescue everyone, this mine will be out of commission for a long time until it is repaired.

The workers are replaceable, but not the mine itself.

I turn around and walk away from the mining town.

Hello.

Part of the change of Marcus is caused by the black soul (Decrea warns him).

The other part is because he no longer cares about humanity, but still something makes him justify his actions. Even if you hate something, it is still hard to forget what he fought for 20 years.
