Chapter176: hospital 1

"baby... it's fine. Just......"

I stopped him from talking anymore when I saw how weak he looked right now." Just shut up and hold on to me."I said helping him to the bed. I can't even believe he would disregard his health when carrying me all those many ass stairs. Is he dumb? He sat on the bed then I searched his pockets and took his phone.

"What are you doing?"Alex asked and I looked at him.

"Calling Stefan so that he can come and treat you then after that, you start talking about how you got such a wound."I said my voice stern then I called Stefan who apparently was just waiting outside the door. It's like he knew this would happen.

He came in and he looked at me then at Alex." I warned you man."he said then he looked at me." Can you get a towel and a basin of cold water so that we can level down his fever."he said and I disappeared in the bathroom. I looked for a basin and I got none so I just dipped a towel in cold water and then I went back to the bedroom.

I sat next to Alex and I started wiping his face while Stefan worked on his wound. I could feel he was gritting his teeth preventing himself from groaning in pain. I gently wiped his face worrying about him. I looked at Stefan when Alex really made a painful sound.

"Can you please be gentle?"I asked him and he chuckled.

"I am gentle. If I wasn't, your man would be screaming in pain right now but it's just a groan, then that shows I'm really gentle."Stefan said.

"I don't care but be gentle. He's hurting right now and patients should be handled gently. Tell me if it hurts Alex."I said.

"Your husband is tough Kimberly no need to worry about him so much."

"He's tough to you but he's not to me. I can't afford to see him in any kind of pain because I'm hurting too and he's in pain."I said and this time Alex looked at me lovingly while Stefan didn't have a come back. I continued wiping his face then I touched his forehead with the back of my head to feel if his fever has gone down. He's stopped sweating but he looks so weak right now and his eyes were closing.

"Baby...."he called and I held his head on my boobs.

"Don't talk now, just stay awake or wait..."I looked at Stefan." Can he sleep? It's not bad right? His fever has gone down I guess because he's not burning anymore."I asked him.

"No...keep him busy so he doesn't sleep. This wound need a hospital. He's lost a lot of blood and I don't think I can treat him like this."he said and I panicked.

"Is it that bad? Stefan, this wound looks really fresh what happened?"I asked but Stefan didn't say anything.

"I would rather not say anything because that's against your man's wish. I would prefer if it's him telling you what happened. Besides, I'm not really sure of what happened either because he didn't say much."he said and I looked at Alex.

I had the urge to really scold him but not now. Not when he's hurting like this.

"Baby... I really love you."he said and I kissed his forehead.

"I love you too honey."I said it back smiling at him.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to make you worry too much. I promise I would never do that again. Will you forgive me?"he whispered his voice weak.

"Yes honey, don't I always forgive you? Now you need to stay strong for us okay?"I told him and he gave me a half smile.

"Kim, we need to take him to the hospital now." Stefan said with urgency while helping him up. I then stood up and I looked at Stefan worried.

"What happened?"I asked him but he was already at the door. I didn't know what to do so when I took Alex's phone and called Jaden. "Heeey.. it's Kimberly, can you please prepare the car."I told him when he picked. I kinda feel guilty for everything because I have a feeling I might have resulted to Alex being like this. Even though I don't know what happened, I just know it has something to do with me.

I then walked to help Stefan with helping Alex walk. He can't even walk and that's the most vulnerable state I have seen Alex been. As we were about to get to the stairs, we met with Melissa coming from downstairs. What the hell was she doing downstairs at this moment?

"What the fuck is going on? Wait, why are you helping Alex up?"she asked confused. I looked at Stefan who looked back at me then at Melissa.

"Lissa, we don't have time for this please. We need to get to the hospital as soon as possible."he said and Melissa creased her brows more confused.

"Hospital? What is wrong with Alex?"she asked but nobody replied and instead we walked past her walking down the stairs. 

"You can come if you want to know what is wrong with your brother."Stefan said and Melissa followed us and when we reached downstairs, she came to my side and she helped Alex instead of me arguing that I'm pregnant. I really felt helpless right now.

"Baaabby...."Alex whispered weakly.

"It's okay Alex, I'm here. I'll be with you till we get to the hospital."I told him.

"Nooooo... sleep....you...need.."he said and I understood what the was saying but I'm not doing such a thing. I can't sleep knowing he's not fine.

"I'll sleep if you get better."I said and we found Jaden already opening the door to the backseat. I sat then Stefan went to the other side and Melissa sat the passenger's seat. Jaden got in the car and he asked where we are going.

"He has a hospital he owns"I said immideately giving him the address. Alex bought the hospital I was working in and it offers the best medical services. That I know because I have worked there and the working conditions are really great.

When we reached the hospital, Alex was immediately taken to the emergency room and Stefan got in with him while Melissa and I were left outside. I was really scared right now and the way Melissa was looking at me was scaring me more.

"I want answers."she said and I looked at her not knowing what to say.

"I don't have them. All I know is that Alex is hurt and that looks like a gun shot inflicted wound. He just came home maybe two hours ago pretending to be all good and I kinda think I might be the cause of the problems. I threatened him if he won't be home I would cry. He had said he has something he had to do but I didn't listen. I really feel guilty right now but I'm more worried now "I said and I waited for what Melissa would say.

"You don't have to feel guilty at all. Just relax and let's wait. You can sleep. I heard Alex say you need sleep. Wait, you didn't sleep when I told you to go and sleep?"she asked and I looked away." Damnit Kim, why are you torturing your body like this? You are pregnant now you can't be behaving like this."she scolded.

"I'm fine. I will...."I didn't finish my sentence because my phone rung, well Alex's phone rung. I looked at the caller ID and saw it was Felix. I picked up.

"Alex, you have to listen to this but don't tell Kimberly. Her mom has just been hospitalised because of cocaine overdose. We are at the hospital right now with Shawn. She called Shawn."he talked really fast but all I got in my head is the cocaine overdose and my mom.
