Mysterious Gaze, First Attacker

Once the security mam came closer to Jidenna he's voice softened taking on a more friendly tone, "Can I help you Sir?" while eying Jidenna unfamiliar self.

It was obvious to him that Jidenna was a foreigner.

"Well you see…" Jidenna opened his lips and told him his plight after he was done the security man nodded in understanding whatever vigilance he had left evaporated into thin air.

The security man proceeded to direct Jidenna on how to get to the admissions office after he was done Jidenna thanked him and went his way.

Some trekking later, Jidenna stood in front of a grand building.

His steps momentarily came to a halt before resuming his stride, the black glass plastered nearly all over the building seemed to devour all the light from the morning sun like a gaping mouth of a predator.

Even though they were obviously car zooming off in the distance Jidenna felt the area where he was, was oddly ghost quite like a graveyard.

The hair on the back of his neck sprouted Jidenna whilred around In alarm.

Once more he's eyes scanned the environment, from the statues of unknown men and women off in the distance to the vibrant green grass beneath his feet but he saw nothing.

He was the only person walking.

Shaking off the eerie feeling of being watched he squared his shoulders and walked inside the building.

Ignoring all the red blaring alarms warning him of something he was not aware off.

Standing Infront of the earth brown door he knocked once then twisted the handle when he caught sight of people he assumed were fellow students like him sitting in the office.

Pushing open the door he strode in, the moment Jidenna stepped inside it was like he had entered into a different world, the eeire feeling that had accompanied him throughy his walk, the strange feeling of being watched disappeared the moment his entered the office.

Jidenna felt like he had burst out from a claustrophobic, lonely, alley way with flickering lights and shinning eyes that trailed after his figure to a bustling place full of life.

Ignoring the clicking of keyboard and the momentary pause in conversation as he entered.

Jidenna walked to the receptionist table, he felt a chill go up his arm as it grazed it's marbled surface.

He explained to the receptionist with his deep baritone voice "Good day, I'm Jidenna Agwu, a new international student. I need to register for my courses and sort of some issues with my student ID"

Hearing his voice the receptionist paused and raised her face that was buried in the laptop to take a look at the owner of the voice.

But once she saw Jidenna something flashed through her narrowed eyes, she blinked, her thick faux lashes concealing the frown in her eyes.

Once she opened her eyes the unnatural look disappeared trying to look professional but the strained smile by the corner of her lips gave away her true thoughts.

She dropped her head, sunking her face lower, completely blocking the sight of Jidenna then answered in a slightly bored and strained voice, "Give me your admission letter and a passport"

The corners of Jidenna's lips bent into a frown at her tone. It was obviously seemed like her normal voice without any negative emotion but there was just something about the way she spoke that rubbed off on him the wrong way.

Despite feeling that way he still brought out the required documents from his bag and passed it over to her without saying a word.

Together they passed the time away with only the clicking of keyboard and the hums of surrounding students to accompany the both of them.

A little off to the right Jidenna's mind was attracted to a group of students huddles together whispering while sneaking glances at him.

His eyes jammed with one of them and they quickly looked away like they were burned.

It did not take being a mind reader to know that they were discussing about him.

Meanwhile, the sound of chair sliding against tiles caused Jidenna to remove his mind from the gossipping students back to the receptionist in front of him.

"Your student ID have a some issues," she informed Jidenna, "I'll be back shortly" she said curtly turning on her heels and walking away.

She walked so speedily that Jidenna wondered for a second if she was running away from something.

While waiting for her Jidenna shifted on his feet uncomfortably noticing the amount of stares he received had considerably increased unlike before.

He crossed his arm around his chest forcing himself to look around the room instead.

There were school posters pasted on the walls and announcements pinned on a bulletin board.

A door was pushed open and the receptionist came in with another a man of average height was tailing behind her

Standing 5 steps away from Jidenna he sighed and muttered under his breath, "Another clueless international student"

"Doesn't he knew this thing could have been solved if he reported it online earlier. No, but these ignorant guys just like adding more work to us while smiling innocently like babies who do no wrong"

But unknown to him, Jidenna's ears captured his whispered complains perfectly. In Jidenna's ears those words were as clear as day.

The receptionist gave him a slight jab before leading him behind the desk.

The man took one look at the screen and blurted out, "you're doing medicine?" he peered down at Jidenna's dark and wide palms that was far from the word "slender and thin"

chuckling and made another rude joke, "are you sure those hands of yours can handle a scale?"

Jidenna pursed his lips staring straight into the man's eyes. Jidenna's eyes was void of any atom of laughter.

For some unknown reasons the man choked his laughter ended in an awkward manner.

His face flushed beet red in embarrassment and sent a subtle glare Jidenna's way
