The coloniser

Mr chelo stopped what he was doing and went towards the door to see the headteacher. Mrs Nalwe "the headteacher" was at the entrance of the classroom. And beside her was a white fairly chubby girl. She stood very close to Mrs Nalwe as though she was her mother. "Oh there you are Chelo. I've got a new student for you." Said Mrs Nalwe Handing over the girl to Mr chelo. "Her name's Celine Osairis, she just flew into the country some weeks ago and I'm sure you're going to get along just fine." At that Mrs Nalwe who looked in a rush proceeded and went away. "Follow me young lady." Said Mr chelo requesting Celine to follow him. Mr chelo brought Celine to the front and introduced her as there new joining classmate. The whole class was out with words " new classmate? " it would have been understandable if she was some ordinary person not a white girl! Celine was very shy to the fact that she was the only white person in school. "Okay miss Osairis, take a seat next to the boy in the left corner. "Mr chelo said pointing at the empty seat near the window. An aisle of desks lead to the corner and the last thing Celine wanted was to pass in-between the desks of her new classmates. Courageously she gathered up all her confidence and proceeded to her seat. Next to her seat was this boy who looked depressed with dark rings in his eyes. He wore spectacles and looked like he didn't talk much. Celine quickly sat down and made her self comfortable. Two girls in the classroom by the names of Sibongile and Nkwangu were greatly unhappy with the joining of their new classmate. They looked at her and sighed. "Who does she think she is." Sibongile said to her accomplice Nkwangu. "She's already feeling comfortable, such nerves!" Sibongile added on. "Maybe let's teach her some manners." Nkwangu said with a devilish look. Mr chelo picked up a piece of chalk and was about to write something on the board when he realised he wasn't quite sure where he reached in explanation. He turned to his students and asked if any of them remembers. "Oh I would have remembered if that coloniser hadn't entered and disturbed the lesson!" Yes it was none other Sibongile who had just said this. Mr chelo was just about to speak when a voice from the back row said furiously, "stop! Not another word!..

The entire class turned to see who had said those words....who had the audacity to stand against the drama queen of the class?
