23. DROWNED

"Aureate!" His voice echoed in the abandoned valley behind the library. Sweat beads trickled down his neck making him sigh. Heart racing as the silence screamed danger.

"Listen lets negotiate." He heard someone talk making him run towards the source calling her name. Heart dropping into the guts.

His eyes popped wide seeing her surrounded by goons. Panicked made adrenaline rush into his veins as he looked around him to see a metal rod lying on the floor. There were four of them.

Her eyes met his making her sigh in contentment. A wide smile took on her face. He assured her with a nod and signed her to stay quiet. Nodding his way quietly to them, he neared.

"Listen young lady we won't hurt you. Just give us your phone." Said the first man. Clenching his fingers into a fist.

"I don't know why we are still standing here knowing she had called for help. What if they come here with cops?" Asked the second man. Irritating expression marred on his features.
