Rias said through gritted teeth but stopped herself as she calmed down, knowing there is no longer need to be worried, as her life was now almost free, well in five years, but still better than a lifetime of being used as a breeding mare...

Aegis said as his words registered to Riser who looked shockingly at Rias as his hand palmed his face.

Riser's voice that was previously silky and arrogant changed into that of seemingly normal as Rias and Akeno looked shockingly at him.

Rias looked at Riser whose hands fell from his face as he looked at Rias and then at Aegis as he gave a respectful bow to Aegis as Riser could feel the power the human before him held in his hands, devil, human or not, power was a universal language, and Riser was wise enough to not provoke someone who could smash him as a fly...

"Riser Phenex, third son of Phenex family... And fiance of Rias Gremory, or at least was..."

Riser said as he looked at still disbelieving Rias, who looked as if he sported another head.

"What? You thought I would fight for your hand?"

"Yes! I mean you always!"

Rias wanted to say, just not finding words.

"Always what? Said you are mine? OF course, I said it, and you were MY fiance for satan's sake!"

Riser said with his hands in the air.

"Don't give me that look Rias! I know how you felt about the marriage! You think I liked it?! How do you think I felt when they told me I would marry a girl whose big brother would kill me the first time I would make her cry?!"

Riser said through gritted teeth as he knew that the marriage contract was gone, after all, he met Satan, and now that he looked at that human named Aegis, he knew that if the fight was to break between them, that Satan had a smaller chance to win...

"What..."

Rias disbelievingly said as Riser looked at her as if he looked at an idiot.

"Don't get me wrong Rias, you are sexy and beautiful, and I would love to have you as my wife, but even I can see that our characters don't mesh well with each other, as if you let me live a bachelor life..."

Riser said with slumped shoulders as if someone's invisible weight had fallen from him.

Riser said as he looked at Aegis who was until now silent.

Riser said as Aegis seemed to nod.

"Tell me, Riser, if you weren't bound to Rias what life would you pursue?"

Aegis asked, he already could guess, but this was rather for Rias sake.

"I... Im Phenex, with my ability to create and sell Phoenix tears, with these I can enjoy life how I want... Maybe buy vila where I can live a philanthropist life with me peerage..."

Riser said, but not just to them but to himself as well as just now the reality that he was free from marriage started to register to him, a smile started to grow on his face...

"Hmm, aren't you worried that your father will make you marry someone else?"

Aegis asked as Riser snorted.

"He could try, but im not any longer a young and easily fooled kid, this time, he will not buy me with any stories of a beautiful and kind girl who will be my wife, no, this time I will choose my wife."

Riser said as Rias looked at him in shock.

"Why... Why didn't you tell me you didn't want it to?!"

Rias asked as she stood up, making Riser roll his eyes.

"I already said it, didn't I? I had a duty to family, and if marring you would help my family so by it... But now that im free and much older, I can do as I wish, no longer bound to dance to my father's tune..."

Riser said, making Rias slump back to her seat as Riser looked at her.

"Nah, don't even think about it, Rias, even if we both united in our try to escape the marriage, without a sufficiently strong person on our side as Aegis Schnee there we wouldn't by able to get out, so what you did wasn't meaningless."

Riser said, but then he looked from the slumped and dumbfounded Rias to Aegis.

"Aegis Schnee, you should by worried, even if I will not try to fight you for Rias hand, im sure that Lord Gremory, my father Lord Phenex and probably or rather surely Sirzeech Gremory, the current Satan, will find you sooner or later, even if I stay quiet, the marriage contract that magically binds Rias and me, will probably now by in ashes, and someone will notice it."

Riser said as Aegis nodded his head.

"I see, I did expect something like this... Thank you for your warning, Riser."

"No need, I do thank you for freeing me and Rias, even if I do not like her, I understand in how much pain Rias was, after all, even I didn't like to by married against mine will... Still... Good luck Rias, and it was a pleasure, Aegis Schnee."

Riser said as he once more looked at Rias, and with one bow to Aegis in respect, he teleported away, not wishing to be caught in any storm that will follow this debacle...

"So... Tell me about your brother."

Aegis asked the still hollowly looking Rias...

Btw to those that don't like Aegis not acting as some Edgy emo lord, go and read some MCs that act like Sasuke or like, or better yet, go read some Xianxia stories where entire families are killed because of someone told about someone that they are an idiot.

I like to think that Aegis is more mature than to act like some edgy lord...
