The Magical Elf Kingdom: Chapter 1

When the long awaited bell finally rang throughout the halls, signalling the end of another day, Madilyn could not wait to get home. She quickly loaded the school bus with her fellow classmates, yet her mind was stuck on one thing only.

Most of the children talked and laughed on their way home, excited that school was over for the day. All Madilyn could think about however, was getting back to her bedroom so she could find out what would happen to the Magical Elf Kingdom.

When she was forced to go to sleep the night before, the Elf Kingdom was under attack by the giant Trolls who lived in the far part of the forest. The Trolls were much larger and stronger than the Elves, but they were not nearly as smart.

The selfish Troll leader wanted to cease the vast and beautiful Elf Kingdom for himself, and force the Elves to live in the forest. The leader claimed that if the Trolls could not have the Magical Elf Kingdom, then they would capture the Elf Princess instead; the prettiest Elf in all the land.

That worried Madilyn, because the giant Trolls were cruel and mean. They simply did not care about any creature other than themselves, unlike the Elves. The Elves were caring and kind, they did not wish to inflict harm on any creature.

So you see... Madilyn had to get back to her room. She had to make certain the giant Trolls did not take control of the Magical Elf Kingdom-or capture their beloved Princess.

Madilyn was deep in thought about how the Elves could save their Magical Kingdom when she heard the bus driver call her name.

Yes! Finally she was home.

She said good-bye to her friends, who were oblivious to the adventure Madilyn was about to embark on, and happily skipped off the school bus. She walked up her long, steep driveway and saw her mamaw sitting on the large carport attached to the side of her house.

"Hi, Madilyn! How was school?" her mamaw cheerfully asked, as she always did when her grand-daughter arrived home from school.

"Fine!" Madilyn shortly replied as she darted inside.

Madilyns mother was sitting on the sofa in the living room reading a book, but sat it down once she saw her daughter enter the house.

"Hey, kiddo! Did you have a good day?" her mother questioned.

"Yeah!" was all Madilyn yelled as she continued down the hallway toward her bedroom door.

Her mother picked her book back up while mumbling quietly to herself, "Nice talk..."

Once she was in her bedroom, Madilyn shut the door behind her. She lazily threw her backpack on the floor and jumped onto her bed, making herself comfortable for the journey ahead.

She easily found her way to the Magical Elf Kingdom to see what was going to happen. What Madilyn saw was hard for her ten year old eyes to believe.
