Chapter 11

Before anyone could react, Eden cast a final look around the room and activated his Magi eye, his left eye that glowed blue when activated. This special eye allowed him to see mana, which was a good indicator of someone's strength. Upon activation, he noticed that unlike his light blue mana, the energy radiating from the bodies of those present had a dark purple hue. What caught his attention was the considerable amount of energy emanating from the magical girl. While she had less energy than him, she could easily overpower most of the bosses he encountered in the training dungeon. The maid possessed slightly less energy than the magical girl, followed by the older lady with even less energy but still a lot compared to most in the room.

For about thirty seconds, an awkward silence filled the room before the magical girl, Levi, was the first to speak. "Nice to meet you. I am the Great Satan Serafall Leviathan. Call me Levi." He wasn't sure if the incredibly cute introduction was meant to catch him off guard, but he decided to act as if they were ordinary humans and not supernatural devils.

"I'm very pleased to meet you as well, Levi. My name is Eden Tsubakihara. You can call me Eden." With that, he extended his hand for a handshake, which she promptly accepted. Although there was no seat available, the maid brought one over and placed it on the other side of the desk. "Thank you."

"It's my pleasure, Master Tsubakihara," the maid replied.

"Now that we're all seated, there's something I'd like to ask. Can I see your sword, Fateweaver?"

"Sure," Eden responded, not entirely understanding their interest but seeing no reason to decline such a simple request. He summoned Fateweaver into his hand.

"Venelana, that's correct?" he addressed the woman behind Levi, who nodded and stepped back. "Yes, it looks slightly different from how it appeared during the Great War, but without a doubt, that is Fateweaver."

"Venelana, did you know one of the former users of the blade?" Eden didn't possess much knowledge about the previous users of Fateweaver, mainly because Weaver didn't disclose much. The only information he had was that they were essentially bags of lifeforce used to strengthen Fateweaver before his reincarnation into this world.

"Oh, well, the user for the last millennium has been working for you-know-who now. The big man upstairs, the dude with a name spelled with a capital G."

"Can't you devils say... well, his name?"

"We can, but it upsets weaker devils like Sona-chan and Rias, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't."

"I'd never be that rude. And are you serious? Why would you work under someone when you have the power to control fate?"

"I don't know. You'd have to ask them. I'm just glad you aren't a fanatic like they were," Levi remarked, leading to a pause in the conversation.

"Levi, let's get to the main point. I came to discuss the fallen angels in this city. I plan to attempt capturing them tonight and was hoping you devils could assist me."

Before Levi could respond, Rias interjected, "Of course, we'll assist you, Eden. And I apologize for being rude during our previous conversation. I was concerned about my servants."

"That's fine, Rias. It was a stressful situation."

"Yes, that's correct. Us devils have invested a lot in this city, so it's only right that we defend it," the smaller of the two on the left couch added.

"Sorry, I don't think we've been introduced. You are...?" Eden turned to the girl, but before she could reply, Levi cut in.

"That is my sweet little sister, Sona-chan."

"Please don't introduce me like that, sister. I am Sona Sitri. Pleased to be at your service."

"Levi, isn't your last name Leviathan? Are you married?"

"No, no. When you become a Great Satan, you pick a last name from the originals."

"I see." With that, he paused. Everything had been going well, but this final part might change the course of the conversation.

"There's one thing I have to say. Using fate magic and diplomacy, I've looked into the future and found a devil by the name of Diodora Astaroth. He was involved with the fallen angels here and was the reason the nun now in my care was expelled from the Church. I would prefer to leave devil issues to devils, but..." He was interrupted before he could finish.

"If that little bastard sent fallen angels into the territory where my sister lives and tried to complicate my negotiations with heaven, I will turn his entire family into popsicles." As she said this, she released her demonic energy, causing a collective cold sweat among those present. Glancing at her, Eden could only think, This girl is kind of hot. Pushing that thought aside, he attempted to continue the conversation.

"I'm glad you understand, Serafall. I think this relationship could be long and productive." Smiling at her, he unconsciously amped up his allure a few notches.

Levi blushed and replied, "Yes, Eden. I believe the two of us can achieve great things together."

"Okay, if everything is settled, how long will everyone need to get ready to capture the fallen angels?"

Sona answered, "Eden, I believe we can be ready in about ten to fifteen minutes." Then, "That's wonderful. If we have time, I'd love to gain some information about the supernatural world or perhaps borrow some books."

"Yes, because of what you've said, I have to leave. Sona-chan, would you kindly explain a few things to him?"

"Yes, why don't you have Venelana explain? If she has the time, she's a very old and wise devil."

Hearing the word "old," he was somewhat confused. Then he realized devils likely had everlasting youth, and it made sense, considering his pseudo-immortality achieved the same effect.

"I don't really appreciate the way you put that, Serafall, but yes."

"I'll be in your care then Venelana"
