When Eden, a child confined within a corrupt hospital for his entire life, finally takes his last breath, Fate takes pity on him and transports him into a world somewhat resembling his own. But, naturally, this world includes devils, dragons, and gods living alongside humanity. Fate, being a "benevolent goddess", provides her new champion with tools to defend himself, such as a magical sword with a sinister and violent history, and a magical house that conceals wondrous secrets spanning the multiverse.
Going into school the next day, he saw the same girl at Wataru's desk. This didn't really surprise him since he thought that the girl had some reason for talking to him. He wanted more information about her former boyfriend before asking her why she was hanging out with Wataru, but that wasn't at the top of his priority list. Today, he planned to skip gym mainly because it was something he neither wanted nor needed to deal with. He intended to stay holed up in his hideout. He had texted Ryoko to see if she wanted to join him, and he actually got a yes since he had complained a bit about being lonely without her.
For the time being, he looked over grimoires until it was time for a break when he went into his hideout to wait. As Ryoko entered the room, she seemed to be doing well, and she sat down beside him.
"Ryoko, what do you want to do?" he asked.
"You're giving me the choice today?"
"I mean, I'm the one who usually comes up with things, but what do you want to do?"
"Can you teach me Atafami like when we played with your friends?"
"That could be fun," he replied. After that, he set up the game and TV to teach her.
About an hour later, she was sitting on Eden's lap while she played Atafami.
"I don't know why I have to sit on your lap," she said.
"Because that's what I want, and also, it keeps your head in the game," he replied. She was starting a new match of the game, and as soon as he said that, she got her head back into the game. They played until lunch, then had lunch in the room. Afterward, they watched a movie with only a bit of making out involved until it was time for school to end.
"Do you want to hang out after school?" he asked.
"I have club today, but we can hang out after if you want to just chill here," she replied.
"That's fine," he said. After that, they kissed, and Eden left for club while Ryoko practiced more Atafami. Heading to his club, he thought it would be a quiet day.
Upon arriving at the club, everyone except Yui was there, so he just sat down and waited. After about ten minutes, two people walked into the classroom. The first was Yui, his fellow club member, and the second was a girl with long brown hair and red eyes.
"Eden, this is that girl we were talking about, Kana-chan. After talking about her with you, I just asked her if she wanted relationship advice, and here we are," Yui explained.
"I don't really appreciate strangers talking about my personal life, but I do need help," Kana said after pulling a chair from the other side of the room to sit down across from them.
"So, what can I do?" Eden asked. To be honest, Eden didn't really have much advice for her. He didn't really know how it felt to be in her situation, but he would try his best.
"Well, what have you tried?" he inquired.
"I tried..."
"If you want something to happen, you need to take initiative. Do you ever go on dates with your boyfriend?"
"I mean, sometimes," she replied while looking away.
"Well, you need to take him places where you two will be forced to be close together, and then you can kiss him."
"I'm the one doing the kissing?"
"I mean, if you want your relationship to take the next level, either you have to take the initiative, or he has to. It's been about a year, and neither of you has done anything."
Kana thought about what Eden had said and couldn't really find anything wrong in his statements.
"So, where should we go?"
"The most straightforward thing would be a motel," Eden suggested, and Kana's cheeks turned red.
"Eden, that is highly inappropriate," Yukinoshita scolded.
"Well, it's true," Eden retorted. Eden then went on to discuss date ideas with Kana until it was time for her to leave.
