Adventures of Reya

Reya is a ten thousand years old vampire who had her birth process churned anew before being abandoned at a foster home. She grows up with a human family, however due to the memory loss attained during the procedure, she grew up human not knowing her abilities as a night creature. One day she witnesses a murder from the top of a mountain between three men, one of whom got killed and turned to dust piquing her curiosity. Stealing away from her siblings watchful eyes, she climbs down the cliff to investigate what had transpired only to fall to her death. This was supposed to be the end of her story, notwithstanding, the fall only succeeded in activating her vampiric nature healing her fatal injuries instantly. Looking around, she found Ramul a strange boy who was still new to town with a girl whose face was hidden with a piece of cloth over her mouth. While their presence wasn’t overwhelming, their actions afterwards definitely was supernatural with the duo displaying extraordinary abilities. Ramul puts her to sleep disappearing into the night with the strange girl causing her to wake up the next day in her bed surrounded by her family. Henrietta a dark mage is summoned only to reveal that she is a dark creature to the shock of her mother. Not wanting to kill anyone in her family, she takes the bold choice to run away from home in terms of protecting everyone. During her flight she encounters Ramul, the strange girl and a man who claimed to be her siblings, prompting them to tell her their history when they find out her memories had not yet been retrieved. This leads her to follow them back to their castle in the dark forest as she finds out she had been in existence for thousands of years as a Primordial vampire — the first set of vampires to be created — as well as been married to a dark mage called Aaron. Everything starts getting complicated while she tries to navigate her way through the mythical world, protecting both human and mythical worlds from old threats which loom over them.

New family

We ran through a dark forest which had a grey cloud over it with lots of lightning and rumbling thunder. It was an eerie sight that I could tell but I wasn't scared, instead I felt calm and peace within the chaos.

'We're almost there,' I heard her say to me telepathically. How was she doing that I asked myself.

'It's a link only us Primordials have,' she explained reading my own thoughts. 'We can communicate telepathically with each other. It's not hard to do, all you need to do is think up what you want me to see, feel or hear and I'll have the information in a flash.'

'Okay,' I thought up before losing control of my speed smashing into a tree violently.

"I am so sorry," she chuckled with a halt. "I forgot to explain that it takes years of practice and also you need to concentrate on it alone before relaying the information to me or anyone else."

"Oh thank you for the heads-up," I grunted standing to my feet with my arms broken beyond repair.

"Give it time to heal, you'll be fine," said the girl casually. "Come, we're almost there."

My bones started to get back together, the sinews replacing the torn ones with my muscles and skin closing up. It was a sight which thrilled me and I wondered if I would ever get tired of seeing my body repair itself after each damage.

Following her lead, we blurred through dense vegetation before coming to a halt at the gate of a large field. I looked through the gate to find nothing but an endless field before it. Why was there a gate when there was nothing to protect I wondered.

"Sigmund!" she said out loud. A few seconds later, the gate clanged open as we walked into the empty land.

"Welcome home," she said with a smile.

"Ummm, Umbra... there's nothing here," I replied looking around.

"Oh, almost forgot," clicked the girl. "Sigmund!"

Almost immediately, a pathway was revealed followed by a beautiful garden, an entire castle towering into the skies and a lineup of men and women training in the courtyard. This was better than a dream, I was looking at the Angus family or shall I say empire. Mages, Xaj's, humans and Vampires roamed around doing their duties without conflict. It was a dream come to life.

"Well..." she smiled. "What do you think?"

I took my time enjoying the view before me. "It's perfect," I said as I followed an elated Umbra into the castle.

She walked into the well lit castle while I followed behind listening to her boring narration of the history of the house. She pointed to some rooms calling out names of the owners both past and present, not that it mattered much to me anyway.

"So when do I get to go back home again?" I interrupted her tour guide. "To my other family?"

The girl sighed punching a door open to reveal two naked boys kissing to my horror, "Reya this is your new home. Stop looking back at your human life, that part is dead and gone."

She started to climb up a stair leaving the boys scampering around for their clothings as I ran after the angry girl.

"Okay look, I understand..."

"I don't think you do Reya, because if you did we wouldn't be having this conversation right now."

"Umbra I do understand, but I want..."

"Sister!" she snapped coming to a halt at the end of a dark corridor. "You are a vampire, not a human."

"Everyone keeps saying that..."

She spun around on her heels with a frown as she glared at me, "Maybe it's because it is true. I love how optimistic you are that you're a vampire and how you'll help people with your powers but it's time to wake up Reya, you are a bloodsucker. You survive on blood and humans are your food source, not rabbits or tigers or birds but humans."

"You haven't tried those, have you?" I gulped.

"Oh I have, but they don't taste anything like the blood of humans trust me on that."

"You can't keep me prisoner in here forever, sooner or later I'll need to join my other family."

"You'll kill them the way you are at the moment love," she answered taking a right turn at the end of the large corridor. "You wouldn't last a week with them. We're all you've got."

"I can control it..."

"Or it will control you," replied the girl frustrated over my stubbornness. "Reya, like I said earlier I love your enthusiasm but you're no longer human. Your primal instinct which is demonic would take over and you would only cause chaos."

We stopped in front of a closed room with my name written in bold over the door.

"I never got to ask, how do you know my name as Reya when I was named that by my parents?"

"Ramul brainwashed your father into naming you that," she answered twisting the handle of the door to reveal a decorated room. "Your old room has surely missed you."

"Wow," I said walking into the room as images flashed through my head giving me series of headaches.

"Are you okay?" she replied coming to my aid.

"I guess so," I answered. "I saw something... I can't explain it."

"Your memories are coming back just as your powers," she said leading me to the bed. "Once you've gotten your memories back, you won't need my help anymore. You'll be back to the old you."

She said those words with sadness, glaring out through the window with a distant look in her eyes.

"Hey cheer up sister," I said with a smile. "I won't let the old me come back, you'll still have the new Reya."

The frown on her face turned upside down as she joined me on the bed with a hug.

"Reya?" someone called causing me to look at a teenage boy who panted heavily at the door. I could tell from his increased heart rate that he had been running.

"I've so missed you," he rushed, taking Umbras place by hugging me as the girl slid out of the room, leaving us alone.

"Thank you, I guess," I answered in confusion. "Who are you again?"

He let me go with a worried look on his face, "You don't remember me?"

"No," I replied. "I really don't."

"Then let me reintroduce myself," he said getting up from the bed. "My name is Aaron and I am your husband."

Hearing those words sent a cold shiver down my spine, "What!?"
