Chapter 26 - Parley

~ At the Battlefield Near the Grassy Vale ~

Over a hundred thousand men had gathered in the fields that lay before the town of Grassy Vale. Their green and gold colors signifying their position as men of the Reach, the men who formed the army of the Renly-Tyrell Alliance. They were all ready to face the forces of the Crown, as they eagerly awaited the arrival of the forces of Orys Baratheon.

They did not have to wait long as soon, the sound of horses neighing and thundering of their hooves filled their ears. A swarm of over 20000 soldiers could be seen coming towards them. Banners of a black Stag and golden Lion, along with a black Stag that had fire surrounding it soon entered their vision.

Orys Baratheon and entourage had arrived.

~ Parley Time ~

Leaders from both the sides had decided to meet with each other in the middle of the field in order to discuss their actions. From Renly's side, Renly himself had descended along with his good father, Mace Tyrell; his lover, Loras Tyrell; Baelor Hightower, Paxter Redwyne; and Mathis Rowan.

While the from the Crown's side, Orys Baratheon, the Young King; his Hand, Stannis Baratheon; Tywin Lannister; Oberyn Martell; and Ser Barristan Selmy descended down to the field.

"Renly, you fool. For the sake of the mother that birth us, cease your actions and apologize," Stannis began. He truly did not want to fight his brother, no matter how much of an asshole he was, he was still his brother after all.

"Show some respect, cunt. You are in the presence of King Renly Baratheon," Loras Tyrell shouted from the opposite side. If he thought that would make him look important or intimidating in the eyes of the Lords then he was clearly mistaken. He was a green boy after all, and Orys had already beaten him like a puny insect in the Tourney.

"Are you sure you want to go to war with us? You might regret it Tyell. After all this is uyour second offence against the Baratheon Family," Orys spoke up as his cold voice reverberated throughout the field, making some of the more nervous men shiver as the sheer amount of killing intent his voice radiated.

"Don't worry, pretender. We are on the correct side this time," Mace said as he stuck his chest out like a proud whore who just got rewarded by their master. It only made him look like an even bigger buffoon.

Orys and the others simply sighed as they figured out that these guys probably shared Ned Stark's opinions on how Orys and his siblings were bastards. So, they explained it to them again, but it just went over their thick skulls. So, it was time for war.

"We have you outnumbered dear nephew. If you surrender now, I can at least consider giving you the same castle you were giving me, Summerhall. After all, a hundred thousand against a mere twenty thousand, we have you outnumbered by 5 to 1," Renly spoke up as he smiled, thinking he had just won the war with words. But confusion marred his face when he saw Orys and Stannis smiling.

"Don't worry, Renly Baratheon. We have something that will even the field quite a bit…" Orys spoke up as he brought out a small horn from behind his back.
