I sat there, naked as the day I was born and stared at her. Until moments ago I had been a kitten, where did she think I was gonna pull clothes out of?

Selena glared at me. "I can hear that you know?"

I rubbed the back of my head and looked away. "Tsk" I scoffed as I slowly stood up. I looked around the room, and found other than my height changing not much had really changed. The body felt much more natural to me than the cat body had, and the tail actually gave me a sense of balance I don't remember having on earth.

I looked at my stats before doing anything else.

I nodded as I looked at my stats. They had all increased greatly, and the effects of [Powerful Mind] had already shown great results. However, when I compared them to Selena's I could only sigh. I was far weaker than she was.

"Of course you're weaker than me, You've only been alive for what? less than a week? The fact that your stats are so high already is actually terrifying. You must never show anyone your stat sheet. As you are my familiar..No that word doesn't fit our situation, As my partner it should not be an issue. Though to the rest of the world you will still be seen as my familiar."

"While it's true that Demi-Humans such as yourself can be naturally born.. The process either involves another demi-Human... or practices that most would rather not think about".

I nodded at her words. They made sense. I did not really mind the arrangement anyways. People would be less suspicious if I was just another humanoid familiar.

"Do all Humanoid familiars have classes?"

She shook her head.

"Some do, but most do not. Even if they do they are usually the most basic of classes, such as swordsman or Lancer. You will just have to keep your class hidden as well."

I sighed, this was going to be a lot more complicated than I had originally intended. All I wanted was to escape this dungeon. I was tired of this trash heap.

"How do we leave?" I asked out loud. Our ability to speak telepathically was useful, but I preferred not having her in my mind.

She responded to my thought, rather than my spoken words. "If you do not want me in your head you simply have to close the connection. Imagine that their is a pathway between us and close the door.... Yes that's right. Just like that. I can forcefully open it if its needed, and visa versa, but let's not do that without an emergency ok?"

I nodded. I did not want her prying to much into my head, and the mind of an 18 year old girl... that was not something I wanted to continually experience.

"Before we go we need to find you some pants. A shirt does not matter nearly as much, but as a member of humanity it's basically required for you to cover your umm private bits."

I nodded as I looked around the room. My eyes fell on the the corpse of the cockroach and hobgoblin. "Do the bosses in this world drop items when you defeat them?"

Selena shook her head. "No, but there should be a treasure chest! perhaps we can find you something in there."

I laughed in stupefied amazement. This world was basically a live in video game. There were levels, and classes. There were dungeons and treasures. Even magic existed. Then I sighed as I remembered the history Selena had told me.

This world was more like a survival game than a fantasy game. Humanity was fighting a losing war, and seemed to be on its last legs. Living a life of luxury in this world would be almost impossible. Even survival would be difficult.

But as I looked at the girl who was currently half hanging out of a large wooden chest in the back of the circular room, a feeling of warmth I hadn't experienced in a long time filled my chest. Maybe this time would be different I thought to myself, even though I myself had no clue as to what that thought meant.

Serena returned a few moments later. In her hands were a variety of items, but my eyes were drawn to a simple set of clothes. They sent a tingling in my head, even though the mana density around them was much lower than any of the other items.

"I will take the clothes, you can have the rest."

"Are you sure? There are some great items here."

I nodded. Other items she held were useless to me. And Axe, A shield, and a strange set of armor. The armor had sent a faint tingling in my mind, but it was much weaker than the black hooded coat and blue denim pants. "You should keep the armor, it is likely a low grade treasure. The other two are just run of the mill magic items. We can sell them and gain some money."

"Are you sure? If it truly is a treasure you would be missing out."

I shook my head. "I don't know the first thing about wearing armor. And did you forget? I'm a cat... Wearing armor would be extremely uncomfortable." I did not tell her that The clothing was a treasure on the same level as her spear, meaning it was many levels above the armor. "That reminds me, keep the spear as well. It is a far more precious treasure than the armor."

Selena looked briefly at the spear she had strapped to her back. "This thing? It doesn't even have any stats."

I nodded. "It is definitely a powerful weapon. My treasure sense tells me so."

She shrugged and tossed the clothes at me. "Then get dressed, we will leave when you're ready."

I smiled as I put on my new clothing. They fit comfortably, but just as she had said about her spear, there was no stats for the items. Not even a description. I could only shake my head in amazement. Perhaps my treasure sense just was not strong enough yet.
