Just minutes later, all trucks were dismounted and grunts littered the area, armed to the teeth and as paranoid as ever.
"It seems your back up isn't here yet, but we can't wait that long, what do you want to do?" Lucifer inquired, no longer playing around.
Sighing, widow answers back "We have to act…but are you sure you can take on all of them?" asking with a slight worry at the end, clearly a bit concerned for Lucifer's safety.
"Not to worry, if needed I could put them all down in a couple of minutes" Lucifer tells her in a carefree but assured manner.
"If need be? What are you…?" She begins asking, but Lucifer answers cutting her off.
"What I mean is, look over at those containers" Lucifer says as he points at the containers housing various weaponry "If we get to those containers and set explosives, we can use those idiots own guns against them. As the say, beat the enemy from within" He explains.
"I'm amazed you could think about all of this on the fly" Widow honestly admits, astounded at Lucifer's way of thinking.
Obviously irked Lucifer scoffs a bit under his suit, but lets it go in favor of getting things done.
"Well I live by the words fight smarter, not harder" He says as he hands Widow a sizable amount of blue pumpkin looking spheres with a glowing neon dot in the middle "Here, once you get to your half of the containers you press the glowing button in the middle and leave it inside. Don't think about keeping them as a souvenir, since they are set to blow up together, wouldn't want you going boom as well. A rest assured the bombs won't make a sound, the ensuing shockwave can be attributed to mild seismic activity, no one will know what happened here" Lucifer sternly warns, while taking out more explosive from his "pocket".
"I can't believe you'd carry stuff like this around when you are on a date with a little lady like myself, it makes me curious for what else you got hidden under that coat of yours" She teases while looking between the pumpkin bomb and Lucifer's "pocket".
"Well I dress to impress lady, not to mention, you always have to have some fireworks laying around, you don't know when you'd have to use them to impress a certain someone, no?" Lucifer teases back.
Chuckling a bit widow asks in a serious tone again "So what's the plan? What do we do after we blow up the guns?"
"We split up, you go after the big wigs, there, there, there and there. While I create a diversion, looking for the drugs and delaying them long enough till your back up is here. Hopefully after you catch them, you may be able to get them to spill how you're people were blindsided to all of this. Objections?" Lucifer rapidly explains and asks.
"None. Can you really pull it off? If you want I can help take some pressure from you by blowing more things up, you just have to give me more of these toys, but you'd have to make it so they don't blow up alongside the others" She nods and says.
"Hahaha nice try crazy guns girl, but you have to do better than that to get to play with my toys. Now, can you hold your own or need my help?" Lucifer laughs and mocks in fake pretentiousness, before hastily dodging another punch aimed at his gut.
Moving away, Lucifer pronounced "Begin" as he expertly made his way down the building, jumping here and there while hidden in the shadows. Running as far as he could from the pissed chick.
Irked Widow could only "Tsk" at his antics, as she also silently made way to her objective.
Reaching the first container Lucifer planted several bombs, while simultaneously scanning over its content, keeping an account of the numbers and types within, so as to make sure he didn't miss anything, before rapidly moving on to the next container.
Once done he looked around, finding the Widow with his eyes, she signals it's already as she hops over, searching for her next target, the guys in charge.
As Lucifer sees her masterful display of acrobatics, he can't help but think 'Damn! That thing is tight!' as he was mesmerized by the sight of her skin tight suit and how it just about gave away all her fantastic curves.
'Damn focus Lucifer, focus!' Slapping himself across the face, Lucifer focus once more on the mission at hand. Making sure Widow cleared the blast range he picked a comfy place and pressed the button.
"Fireworks it is"
*FTZSHHHHHHHH*
Going off, the bombs let out an incredible yet silent light show alerting dozens of grunts, who unfortunately weren't fast enough to escape the bombs fiery breath.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" They screamed as their bodies turned to ash.
*Bang*Bang*Bang*Bang*
Guns went off as a number of the surviving grunts tried to fend off their attackers, shooting every shadow that shimmered and light that flicker.
"He he he" Lucifer chuckled as he dissolved into the shadows and appeared behind one of the grunts, twisting his neck "Show time".
*Bang*Bang*Bang*
More shots, Lucifer brandishes his scythe, as he swiftly moves about, separating heads form bodies and dodging gun fire. Yet it brought more shots his way, as grunts yelled and rallied around him.
Suddenly surrounded Lucifer drops a smoke bomb from his fingertips, gaining cover he once more shadowports to a nearby ledge, were he can vastly appreciate the stupidity of the grunts, who shot any shadow before them, taking each other out for him.
Out of the corner of his eye, he sees trucks speeding of, theorizing they house the drugs, Lucifer once more shadowports, right on top of the leading truck as he lets his suit sprout tendrils that slice the tires of the truck, jumping to the trucks behind he repeats the process, taking out all the grunts who flood out of them, trying to protect the cargo.
Having done up to here, Lucifer finishes off by throwing a couple of vacuum bombs at the trucks, that would ensure their destruction without the risk of the drug going airborne.
Dusting off his hands, Lucifer turns to a darkened corner and says "Well, now that, that is out of the way, why don't you come out so we can have a talk?"
Stepping out of the shadows was a dark skinned man, with an eyepatch over his left eye, his steps rhythmical and precise, while fully clad in in black suit with a large dark trench coat over it. His one eyed gaze steely and scrutinizing, as though trying to nit pic every detail of a person, getting in their heads and knowing them like the back of his hand.
"He he, your just as good as she said you were mister Samael" Fury chuckles and says while slowly approaching Lucifer, as he carried his arms behind his back.
"Who? Do you mean Miss Matthers? Oh… I guess you'd know her as this Black Widow girl, mister… mister…" Feigning ignorance Lucifer calmly responded to Fury's praise.
"Oh, sorry about that, don't introduce myself so often this days. Name's Nicholas J. Fury, Director of the agency you may or may not know now as S.H.I.E.L.D, it is a pleasure making your acquaintance" Fury said while crossing the remaining distance and stretching his hand for a shake.
"Fury huh? I like the name, a pleasure…meeting you too" Lucifer answers in genuine appreciation for a cool name like Fury, but as he is about to shake he is warned about some sort of danger from Fury's hand, by the suit which causes him to momentarily pause his speech, but he rapidly smoothes it out and continues his speech, while opting to fist bump instead of shaking Fury's hands.
Seemingly nonplused on the outside Fury corresponds Lucifer's greeting, yet inwardly he was mildly surprised.
"Walking past Lucifer and towards the warehouse, Fury tells Lucifer Walk with me son, I have some things we may need to talk about"
Not really finding a reason to refuse, Lucifer complies and follows behind Fury, although more than a meter away, for after all, the man is the king of spies, practically final boss level material.
'Always best to be cautious of enemy's, more so with friends, not to mention Fury doesn't even qualify in either' Lucifer thinks as he narrows his eyes while looking at Fury's back.
As Fury and Lucifer made their way through the warehouse, diverse S.H.I.E.L.D agents were wrangling any goons still putting up resistance. With Fury leading the stroll to who knows where, Lucifer's patience began to were thin and as though sensing this, with god knows what Fury began his monolog "So, the story is, we at S.H.I.E.L.D are in charge of managing situations like this, making sure there is no grave danger to the populace, responding to terrorists attack, preventing them in the best of cases. Yet I'm informed that in this particular case, our agency had no information at all, we were hoodwinked, blindsided, left in the dark, however you wish to put it. But then, a civilian, I was informed, possessed ample knowledge on the subject, from location, to motive and other diverse information, so I'm asking myself…"
Interrupting quickly, Lucifer answers "So you'd like to know why I know? Is that it?"
Halting a bit, Fury looks back and says "Pretty much yes" before facing ahead and walking off again.
"But then, you're asking the wrong question. The real question is not why I know, rather, why didn't you know about it?" Lucifer answers smugly as he copies Fury's posture by placing his hands at his back.
Not looking back Fury questions once more "What do …"
Interrupting once more Lucifer answers Fury's unfinished question, as though expecting it "What I mean is, as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D and the guys who supposedly are there to prevent this, you should be able to tell me"
At this words, Fury descended into silence and only the sound of his boots hitting the pavement could be heard from him. In the background Lucifer hummed a merry tone while he followed behind Fury, strolling leisurely amidst the S.H.I.E.L.D agents yells and gun fire, as though a boy scout following the troop leader, if the boy scout wanted to drive the troop leader mad in annoyance that is.
Quickening his pace Fury finally brought them both to a stop, in front of them two stunningly gorgeous women were standing, watching over four spiffy looking thugs, obviously the ring leaders of the camps present in the exchange.
"Let me introduce you mister Samael, this here is my right hand, Agent Hill and the one standing beside her, I assume you are familiar with, is Agent Black Widow" Fury said while pointing his palm at each lady.
Nodding, Lucifer eagerly greets the gorgeous Maria Hill, who only grunts in acknowledgment, leaving a bit of an awkward air in the scene.
"Hahaha, it's seems you're charm isn't as good as it used to be Samael. Nice fireworks by the way" Gleefully laughing at Lucifer's awkward situation, Widow breaks the silence.
"So what's the situation here Hill?" Unfazed by the ongoing shenanigans, Fury quickly refocuses everyone on the situation.
Snapping into rigorous posture Hill intones "No progress sir, it would seem these particular guys will need extra care back at the base" rapidly giving Fury a report.
"So they aren't willing to share huh? Then I leave them in your hands Hill" Fury says in a menacing tone, as his one eyed face goes over the thugs.
Turning back to Lucifer, Fury stares at him for a while, as though gleaming over all the details Lucifer's appearance gave away.
A bit creeped out by the man's undivided attention, Lucifer backs away and asks "What?"
"Who are you?" He asks, keeping his eye on Lucifer.
Crossing his hands over his chest, Lucifer seriously responds "You don't really think I'd tell you that?"
Facing away and adopting his posture once more, Fury answers "Well I was hoping you did actually, especially when I considered having you work for me"
"Sorry but no, although flattered, I don't really have an inclination to work for this S.H.I.E.L.D whatever" Lucifer answers back.
Turning towards Lucifer, Fury asks in seemingly genuine interest "Oh… Why is that?"
"Well somethings are best left unsaid" Lucifer says while turning away and walking off.
Not stopping him, Fury just watches him leave, will only asking a final question "Your reason being?"
Pausing, Lucifer turns to Fury and rhetorically responds "It wouldn't be a secret if someone else knew about it, now would it?" before jumping onto a nearby ledge and making his way up to the rooftop, on which he vanishes from sight.
"Sir are we just going to let him go like this, he could have valuable information on…" Sounds Hill in a strict tone, before being stop by Fury holding his hand up.
Silently pondering, Fury takes a minute before responding to Hill "Yes, will let him go. He is more valuable as an independent element, for now. Not to mention… He knows something"
Hearing his words, most specifically Fury's last words, Hill couldn't help but ask "How do you gather sir?"
"Just a hunch... But when you get to my age, your gut becomes your best friend Hill. Now, let's take our new friends back home, make sure they are willing to share their expensive toys with the rest of us" Fury answers, will he once more focuses his gaze on the thugs, a one eyed gaze that promised they wouldn't have a good time.
Damn i'm late and sleepy.
Still I hope you enjoy.
The other long chapter I promised.
