**POV: Finn the Human**

No, it wasn't just him. Everyone around looked curious about the loud trumpets sounding nearby, but the Candy people seemed more aware of what was happening. Finn decided to ask the only person who could give him an answer.

"Jake, what's going on? What's the horn blowing for?" Finn asked, eyeing the Candy people as they moved in the general direction of the Candy Castle. He had a suspicion about what might be occurring.

"Oh, I forgot it's your first time visiting the Candy Kingdom. Occasionally, the princess calls a meeting where she announces something to the Candy people, or she does it simply because she wants to. It depends on her mood. I wonder what she could be announcing this time," Jake replied, scratching his head with a quizzical frown.

"So, in short, the princess is going to be there?" Finn asked seriously, and Jake nodded in response.

Finn noticed the smug smile on Jake's face but chose not to reply. He hated that Jake would never let him live this down.

"Let's go; it could be important," Finn said, easily avoiding Jake's gaze, looking anywhere but at him.

"Sure thing, bro. Really important," Jake teased shamelessly. But he couldn't help feeling proud; Finn was growing up so fast! He was starting to show an interest in girls.

Yet there was a worry that only Jake was aware of. A worry that had been troubling him, which he suppressed, not wanting to spoil what he believed to be Finn's crush. His concern stemmed mainly from rumors he had heard during his days as a thief.

Rumors about how the princess had turned down countless suitors, and others suggesting that she might prefer the fairer gender. Jake wasn't sure.

But despite these rumors, they could either be true or false; it could go both ways. Another potential issue was the age difference...

Jake was worried. Worried for Finn, and worried about whether he could handle the potential heartbreak. It was a dangerous game Finn was getting himself into, but it wasn't Jake's place to interfere. It was not his right to tell Finn who he should or shouldn't like. All he could do was be there for Finn in case things went badly and offer a shoulder to cry on.

It was his responsibility as the older brother. He would be there for Finn, no matter what.

"Let's go, Jake. What's got you thinking so deeply?" Finn asked, finally breaking free from his conversation with Cornifer, who had made it clear that he would be staying behind and not accompanying them.

Finn caught Jake deep in thought and wondered what had captured his attention so intensely. But since Jake often got lost in his weird thoughts, Finn didn't mind much.

"Sure, Finn, let's go." Jake sounded more subdued than usual, but Finn didn't think much of it.

"See you later, Cornifer," Finn waved as they left to see what was happening.

Oddly, Jake was silent during the journey, which made Finn wonder why. Normally, Jake would take this opportunity to tease him about his feelings, but Finn shrugged it off, not too bothered by it.

They passed groups of Candy people also heading toward the Candy Castle. Finn and Jake held hands to prevent getting separated.

Surprisingly, they reached a candy stage that had been constructed in front of the Candy Castle.

On it stood the Peppermint Butler with a microphone in hand. He stood patiently, observing the crowd as they pushed and jostled each other to get a better view.

Finn didn't struggle much to reach the front; being small made it easier to navigate through the crowd. And Jake would also push anyone aside who came too close to bump into them.

"Where's the princess?" Jake asked, showing no patience at all. Finn simply shrugged, trying to ignore the chatter behind him.

But Finn was mainly focused on the Peppermint Butler. He was curious why Bonnie only seemed to create one Candy person who was somewhat less troublesome compared to the rest.

The Peppermint Butler was the only Candy person Finn believed caused the least amount of trouble among them.

If you ignored the whole thing about Peppermint Butler being a dark sorcerer, he was the least troublesome guy!

"Could he teach me magic?" Finn was quite curious about it. That was another reason he was staring at the butler so intently, which surprisingly, resulted in their eyes meeting. The stare down lasted long enough that Finn was sure it was not coincidental at all

Then, the Peppermint Butler smiled at Finn before he finally broke away from their gaze.

"What was that?" Jake asked curiously, seemingly having noticed the standoff.

"I don't know. Maybe he noticed my brilliance," Finn said smugly, yet he was also curious about what had attracted the old butler's attention.

Was it the fact that he was human? Or had the magical Peppermint Butler sensed his potential? Or, as Finn hoped, had the butler sensed the Nomicon? Finn had seen various media portray the Grimoires as very important and rare. And the Nomicon was as generic a grimoire as they came.

He didn't know. He could only hope that the eye contact held no other meaning other than curiosity.

"Quiet down, quiet down! The Princess will be arriving any second now!"

[SHHEWWWW]

Up in the air, the sound of something moving quickly drew everyone's attention to the sky.

Finn could see a rainbow-colored figure, its body coiling and twisting above in a rhythm until it finally headed toward the podium at breakneck speed.

A pink figure was seated on the rainbow-colored creature, their hair blowing wildly in the air.

"Oh look, it's a bird," a jawbreaker guy said, pointing to the approaching rainbow.

"No, you idiot. It's a plane," a candy corn guy refuted with an assured tone.

Finn cringed and chuckled at the cliché words he was hearing.

The figure in the sky, speeding toward the podium, came to a sudden halt without causing any gust of wind or disturbance in the surroundings. It was truly unnatural. But Finn did not know much about Rainicorns, even the one that had just arrived, who had been prominently featured in the show: Lady Rainicorn.

Finally, the person they had been waiting for came into view.

She stepped off from where she had sat, slowly and elegantly, her whole demeanor exuding a certain charm. She wore a floor-length, puffy-sleeved dark pink gown with a purple scoop neck collar and a sash around her waist, paired with purple ballet flats that fitted her perfectly.

Finn had never known he could be so observant when it came to someone, but he felt like he could notice everything about her at that moment.

Bonnie finally bundled up her gown and lifted it slightly to fully disembark from her mount.

"Thank you, my lady," she said, petting the loose strands of hair from Lady Rainicorn.

Finn managed to hear her angelic voice, which sent shivers down his spine as his breath caught when he saw her for the first time.

She was tall and slender with light pink skin and magenta-pink hair, which, as he knew, was made entirely of actual bubblegum. She was even taller than Finn, which was not surprising since he was still just a child.

Finn's face quickly grew red, his imagination going wild and his breath slightly hitching. The fact that her gown showcased her figure did not help at all.

"I think I'm in love," two voices exclaimed. Finn quickly glanced to his side only to find Jake equally mesmerized, his eyes directed at Lady Rainicorn.

"Good morning, my citizens. It's so wonderful to see you all." Bonnie said loudly, confidence oozing from her voice
