Reward Time

"You sly monster, come here!" Allen muttered and grabbed the vampire rogue's arm and dragged it forward to him. He grabbed it on the head and made to smack it on the ground but it slipped away and attacked him with his claws. "Ugh, you filthy thing!" He grunted and caught it again. This time, he didn't waste any second and slammed it on the ground.

The vampire rogue screeched and tried to get up but Allen raised his leg and stomped it on the head, crushing it to pieces and causing black blood to scatter around the place.

[You have completed your task and have been rewarded with a new ability]

[Name: Inspect]

[Description: Use this ability on anyone and their information will appear right in your face]

"This ability sounds cool, let me try it out," he said and approached the girl who seemed to have fainted. "Inspect!" He mumbled and in the next seconds, information about the girl appeared right before his face.

[Name: Sarah Pan]

[Age: 17]

[Race: Human]

---------

"She's just another human girl, there's nothing impressive," he said and stood straight. "I need to use it on him and see what he thinks he is hiding," he added and left that spot. He turned back to the direction he had followed and began to walk away. After walking for an hour, he finally arrived at the school. When he got to the gate, it opened up for him and then he went in. He went straight to his room and after taking his bath, he laid down on the bed and soon fell asleep.

He didn't know when morning came until he heard a loud knock on his door which abruptly woke him up from sleep.

"What the hell?" He grunted and got out of bed. He quickly washed his face, not minding how many times the person was knocking on his door, he unhurriedly put on some clothes and combed his hair before proceeding to open the door. "If it's someone unimportant, I won't let him off—"

"Huh? Are you going to kill me?" Nat asked him as he opened the door while mumbling.

Seeing the person who was knocking at his door, he frowned and moved aside for him to come in. "What do you want?" He asked him as he closed back his door.

"I came to inform you that the marriage has been terminated and our partnership with the family remains," Nat replied as he walked over to the bed and sat down.

"I'm aware of that and you know, you shouldn't have come. Tell me, why did you come here this early? You woke me up from a good sleep," Allen replied with a displeased look on his face. He was still upset that his sleep was rudely interrupted by him.

"Tell me, how did you do it? I mean, how were you able to convince that evil woman to terminate the marriage without letting it affect the business?" Nat asked him. He was more than curious to know what Allen did to convince Rain's family. For many years, his parents had tried to convince them but they wouldn't agree, just how did this kid do it?

"I didn't do anything much, I only did what I had to do. Now, we should be talking about the reward," Allen replied and gazed at him. ' I might try using inspect on him and see how far it goes ' He said inwardly. 'Inspect!'

[Name: Nathaniel Lucifer]

[Age: 20]

[Race: Demon]

[Class: Lesser Demon]

[Power level:??]

[Skills:???]

--------------

Seeing the information that the system showed to him, Allen felt disappointed. He had expected to see more of Nat's stats, for example, his power level and skills but unfortunately, none of them showed. ' Does this mean he is stronger than me?' He thought to himself.

"Hey, why do you look disappointed?" Nat who seemed to have noticed the change in his face asked him.

"Is that too obvious?" Allen asked him and quickly changed his expression.

"Don't you like the reward I offered you?" Nat asked him.

"What reward?" Allen asked him, he must have missed it while he was still lost in his thoughts.

"Let me take you to my demon world, there is a place you are going to like," Nat replied.

"What sort of reward is that? What is so special about that place?" Allen asked him, seeming uninterested in the reward.

"I won't tell you, find out yourself," Nat replied and smirked.

"Give me something else," Allen said to him. "I have no interest in you demons," he added.

"This is the best reward I can think of. I promise, you won't regret it," Nat replied.

"And what if I eventually did? What will be your punishment?" Allen asked.

"Well, if you end up not liking the place, you can deal with me however you want," Nat replied. His reply carried the weight of confidence in it and Allen was forced to keep silent and think about it.

"When are we leaving?" He asked him after some time.

Nat smiled after Allen had finally agreed to come with him. "Now!" He said and waved his hand. As soon as he did that, a dark tunnel made out of smoke appeared right in front of them. "Let's go in," he said to Allen.

"Right now?" Allen asked him.

"Yes, right now," Nat replied.

"Like this?" Allen asked again and then gazed at himself. "I haven't even showered—" He was yet to complete his sentence when all of a sudden, he got pushed into the tunnel. It took a while for him to process what happened but by the time he opened his eyes, he saw himself in a completely new world.

The sky was dark unlike the main world and from a distance, he could see a long line of purple light that stretched into the sky.

"What is that?" He asked Nat who appeared right next to him.

"That's the demon citadel, it is the source of every demon's energy within or outside this realm," Nat replied.

"You mean every demon draws energy from it?" Allen asked him, seeming interested in it.

"Yeah, something like that. Without the citadel, every demon is bound to die," Nat replied.

"That sounds cool," Allen mumbled while having his gaze still on the purple light. ' Does the vampires also have something like this?' He thought to himself.

"What are you thinking about?" Nat asked him.

"And how do you know I'm thinking of something?" Allen asked him back. He was trying to hide the fact that he was actually thinking of something.

"Your expressions are far too obvious. You should learn from me to hide them, this is one of the ways to deal with your opponent," Nat replied.

"I see," Allen mumbled and kept a straight face. "Like this?" He asked Nat who nodded his head.

"Yeah, like that," Nat replied with a thumbs up. "Let me go show you my place, follow me," he said and began to lead the way.
