First Day In Class

The next morning, Allen got up early because it was his first day in class. He couldn't contain the excitement anymore because this was the first time in his entire life that he would be entering a classroom to learn. Thanks to his earth parent, he was not allowed to go to school or learn anything about studies. But because he was the one doing assignments for his little brother, he was able to grab some knowledge and even learn to read and write. Now that he was able to achieve his longtime wish of being a student, his happiness knew no bounds.

After waking up from sleep, he did some sit-ups and press-ups and once he was through with it, he took his bath and dressed up in his uniform. By the time he was done, it was just 6 O'Clock and this made him even more impatient. He had no choice but to wait a bit longer until it was 7 O'clock before he carried his bag and left. But before leaving, he tied a handkerchief at the arm where Matthew had cut him with his sword so that no one would know that he was already healed up.

Outside his room, he saw Sam standing by the door with some books and a pen.

"What is it? Why are you here this early?" He asked him.

"To give you these of course," Sam replied and handed what he was holding to him.

"Did the Dean ask you to give them to me?" Allen asked him.

"No one did. I figured that you don't have any of these things so I bought them for you, take them as a reward for winning your duel," Sam replied and smiled.

"Indeed, I don't have any of them but you should have not meddled in my affairs. It's not worth it," Allen said, a bit displeased.

"I see..." Sam muttered. He wasn't happy that Allen was speaking rudely to him but then, he was in no place to complain about it.

"I'll take my leave," Allen said to him and walked away. He left the hostel and joined the other students who were heading to their classes, luckily, Sam had shown him his class and so going there was no issue for him. As he went, he noticed that all the students kept staring at him, and some clearly avoided body contact with him. Some gazed at him with malice, hatred, and anger burning in their eyes while some gazed at him with admiration, fear, and envy in their eyes. He had expected things like this to happen and so it didn't bother him that much, he even liked it because this will make him have less company around him.

Soon, he got to his class with a description on the door that reads ' Class 1C '. He walked inside and was surprised to see Zane who immediately ran up to him the moment he got in.

"Allen! Don't you think it's fate that brought us to the same class?" He asked Allen as he dragged him to where his seat was. "Sit here, it's empty," he said as he pointed to an empty sit by the side of his seat.

"I don't believe in fate," Allen replied and sat down.

"Huh? Why don't you?" Zane asked him with a curious gaze.

"You ask too many questions and I'm beginning to get sick of it. Don't think I'll let you pry into my life," Allen replied and looked elsewhere.

"I was just being curious," Zane mumbled and sighed afterward. He kept sighing to draw Allen's attention but even at that, the latter didn't say a word to him and kept looking elsewhere. He soon got tired and stopped.

After a while, more students continued to enter until it was filled up. Since he had drawn a lot of attention to himself, the students all kept talking about him in whispers as no one dared to come to the open and confront him or gossip openly about him. Later on, their homeroom teacher came in — A young man in his early thirties.

"Good morning, students!" The young man greeted the class as he walked inside.

"Good morning, teacher!" All the students replied as they stood up. Allen stood up as well and the moment he turned to look at the teacher, he was surprised to see who it was.

"Sam?" He mumbled in surprise.

"What? Didn't you know that he's class 1C's homeroom teacher?" Zane asked him in a whisper.

"How am I supposed to know? Besides, we were all together during the duel, why didn't you tell me about him?" Allen replied and glared at Zane in anger. He felt deluded already.

"Because he threatened me. I don't want to lose my marks this term," Zane replied and tried to smile but the look in Allen's eyes didn't let him and he was forced to suppress the laugh.

"You may all sit down!" Sam said to the entire class. After the class might have all sat down, he cleared his throat and began to talk. "We have a new student in our class, can he come forward and explain himself to us?" He asked, staring at Allen with a smirk.

Even though he was reluctant to do so, Allen got up and walked to the front of the class. He briefly glanced at Sam and turned to face the class. "My name is Allen and I'm new," he said to the class. "Is that all?" He turned and asked Sam who shook his head.

"Tell us what you want to become in the future," Sam replied.

"I want to become an immortal," Allen turned to the class and replied, and then he began to head back to his seat without the teacher telling him to do so. "Did I ask you to go back?" Sam asked him from behind. He halted and turned around, gazed at him for a while before turning around again and going back to his seat.

"You are too daring," Zane whispered to him as he sat down.

"Why?" Allen asked him.

"If it were someone else, I swear that person won't be able to walk away with his complete legs," Zane replied.

Allen turned and looked at Sam, surprisingly, the young man was staring back at him as well but the moment their eyes locked on each other, Allen was forced to withdraw immediately.

"Was that the feeling of fear?" He mumbled to himself and touched his forehead. "I'm sweating?" He gasped in surprise and tried to look at Sam again but the latter had already looked away.
