Chapter VIII

The view is something straight out of a movie, It's unbelievable. There's a whole civilization laid out in front of me. A whole city that looks like something out of a medieval movie or show. The way the roofs are shaped, and and how close the building are. All of my doubts of being sent to another world were shattered. I am in another world. This makes everything change. My thoughts on this place, my thoughts on how the people I've met acted. I've got to face this differently now.

I put my hand down, but the sun doesn't seem to bother me. The fact that its right on my face, and I'm not squinting, is interesting. Is something different about this worlds sun, or is there something different about me? I look away just in case something is wrong and I just don't realize it. I look off to my left and see a few guards, they look like their standing guard of something. If that's true, this is probably the entrance of the place i was summoned in. The guards amour and uniform look the same.

I move behind the wall I'm next too, keeping myself out of sight, hopefully. I don't to get caught creeping around. But then again I don't want to be caught in general. I peak my head over the side of the wall to get a look of what's in front of me. There's 4 guards, all armed and suited up. Shit, this is going to be harder than I thought. I might just have to go for it, there really isn't much of a choice. I slowly make my way forwards, walking away from the wall. I stand out like a sore thumb, I'm surprised they haven't said anything to me yet. But just as I thought that I was in the clear, I hear a woman's voice yell out.

"There he is! Please! Don't go yet!"

And there goes my attempt to get away. I turn around and see Renia and a large group of guards rushing towards me. Do they really wan to help me? They probably could've killed me before if they wanted. I turn away, running could be an option, but how good of one is it? I look back behind me and see them fast approaching. I don't got much time to make a choice. I look behind me, I might have to make a break for it...

"AHHHH! FU...!"

---

Renia was running towards Daiki, followed by a couple of guards. She as on a search for him. She realized she had made a mistake by calling the guards. To Renia, Daiki was he perfect example of a hero. He had a masculine body, one that shows he was clearly strong and experienced. His face, was one that has her won over at first sight. The soft black hair, his red eyes, and the serious expression he wore that never faltered. It all was something that had her feeling woozy when she really thought abut him. Ever since he jumped out of the window, she was thinking of him non-stop. It got to a point where she started shaking. Was it because she was missing him that much, or was it because she had possibly killed the person who was supposed to save this kingdom? The guards will never know, and neither will Rena. It feels a little like both to her.

But seeing said praised person just collapse in front of her... it hits a little hard. Daiki was clutching his head, his fingers about to dig into his head with how hard he was pressing. The guards that were following Renia stopped for moment, just as confused and shocked as Renia was. They finally got themselves together and ran over to make sure he was alright. Daiki looks up at the guards while on a knee. His eyes were filled with rage, but also terror. The emotions in his eyes were nothing short of monstrous. The guards hesitate, for all they know he could lash out and attack them at any moment. That doesn't happen however. Daiki lets out one last cry of pain before fully collapsing to the ground, his body going limp. Now the guards run over and pray he's alive.

Goddamit... where am I now? Its a black void again, the exact same one from when I met the flame. The feeling and aura is the same. Did it bring me back here because I died again? No, that can't be possible. There wasn't anything that could've killed me. But to my surprise, the same white flame appears again. But this time... It reasonables a human. There's a flaming body of fire standing in front of me. Having the same black outline as the flame I saw before arriving in the new world. There's no mistaking it... It the same flame.

It starts to walk towards me, the whole thing has no definition. It's just like an outline you would see in a biomedical textbook. I'm still floating, there's no solid ground. He squats down next to me... And his featureless face gazes at me. It's unsettling. Seeing a flat face stare at you while floating in a empty void... Will shake you to your bones to say the least.

"You... Are you... Daiki...?"

The fuck? This flame knows my name? The tone of his voice is empty like the void, and sounded rough. Like it's a man who went through war and survived, a man who's seen it all. I want to answer, but I can't speak. I opened my mouth to answer, but no words escaped my mouth. So, I improvise. I nod my head "yes".

"Good... Very good... It seems I've chosen... Correctly..."

Chosen correctly? What does that mean? Was my prediction correct? Did it really choose me?

"I need you... To promise something... Can you do that...?"

I nod my head. Whatever the hell this thing is. I have to trust it. It has the power to just bring me here, and it has to be something powerful. I can sense it.

"You... Must trust Renia..."

Huh? It knows her? Just how much does this thing know?

"Follow her... Seek trustworthy piers... And learn the truth... The truth of me and this world..."

Trustworthy piers? The truth of this world and the flame? What the hell does this thing know and want from me? It stands back up, and backs away slowy. It waves off to me, slowly fading away as my vision slowly goes white again.

"Till we meet again... Daiki..."
