Chapter 8

The army is here. It is not the army but a group that I will go against.

"You can do this!" Orion cheered me up.

The monsters rush towards me. I also dash at them. I grabbed one monster by his face and threw me into a destroyed building. I sweep and kick the other one. Then I punch another monster with my right fist.

Just as I was about to go defeat my final opponent. I froze. I don't know why but I can't even move on my own. I feel like my heart has taken over me. My shining point is gone.

Before that monster reached me. Orion killed it off.

I look at the face of Orion.

He looks disappointed at me.

"What happened? Did some weaklings scare you? When I saw you, I thought that you were different. An Adaptae with most potential. But was it wrong?"

He was not questioning me but actually questioning his own thoughts on me.

"I don't know what happened but I suddenly stopped." I told him what I was feeling.

"You have learned to become a hero from zero. You need an opportunity to shine yourself"

"This is what I want to know! How can I become the hero you are asking for?"

"Hero, you want to become is someone who is beyond anyone's grasp. This is the battle of the individual. Make your foundation, understand yourself and invent your skill to win this match!" He told me.

"Skill?" I repeat this word.

"Yes. Everyone is born with a skill. People say that talent is very rare but everyone got that. They just can't open the box where their talent is held. But those who open the box become prodigies. This is the reason why prodigies are very rare in the world"

What he said got into my mind. Everyone is a prodigy in their own way. They need to unlock the key to their success. Something is still eating me out like a bug. Why did I stop myself from hitting the hell out of those monsters? I was not like this.

"Aim for high, my friend. Let's go and see your friends" he said to me.

Something is wrong. Something is really wrong. Why is everything blurring out of my mind? It is common sense that I forgot. How can you become a hero when you are zero? By surpassing the obstacles in front of me. What is my obstacle here? Those drugs? No. They are weak. Weak. Weak opponents are the reason why I stopped myself from hitting. So, if I think about it, aim for high, there is only one high and my mind is registering only one dude. You can't be a hero without destroying the strong blockage of life. If this is a story and I am the hero who wants to be the best then, he is there as a villain.

"Orion! Let's fight!" I yell.

Orion stops his steps.

He turned towards me, "What do you say?"

"I want a battle"

His eyes widened.

"You are still a newbie, dude and you want to pick a fight with me? Are you Sirius?" He asked me.

"I am now 100% sure. There is only one way to become a hero and that is by proving my strength against you!" I told him with determination.

My whole body is as tall as his knee.

I know I am dead.

That's what I want to see. Your unrivaled power which made me halt my steps against weak people. You show me strength and now I will erase that strength.

Now, I am facing him. He told me that I need to make a foundation of my skill first. So, I have to play safe. My first priority is to survive here.

I first move my leg but change my direction. I know that it looks pathetic from every way but I am not strong here.

"What are you trying to achieve?" He asked me with a smirk.

He is reading to me. He knows where I will go to change my direction. He knows that I am just playing safe.

I have to make an effort to make an impression.

"Here I come!" I yell.

I raise my left leg and go for a fast kick to his leg. If I can unbalance him.

It is an impossible and stupid technique I am using, especially against a strong opponent.

He moved his leg a little bit. A shockwave generated. I was thrown away.

"Aaah" I say in pain.

"What are you trying to achieve?" He asked me unimpressively.

I rush towards him again. Never learning from my mistakes. I go for another kick. But the same thing happened. I was thrown away again.

"This is stupid. What are you trying for?" He asked me.

He raised his fist. What is he doing? Is he going for a punch despite there being distance and I am out of his punch range?

He did something that was beyond my expectations.

He punched the air. An air pressure punch was created. It was like Goku created in Dragon Ball manga against Chi Chi. But with more destruction. His air punch got past me. It didn't hit me.

When I looked behind to see the destruction. There is no sound of destruction. Did he create a vacuum path that blocked the sound from traveling? Several buildings were gone. There was not even a piece of building. Complete annihilation.

I rush towards me. I know this is an idiot move.

But he jumped over me.

"You should learn"

He landed on me.

My whole body got crushed under his weight. What the fuck?! Fuck it. It hurts!!!

"AARRRHHHH" I scream in pain.

He get up from me.

"Know your place and challenge someone of your size, kid" Orion mock me.

I managed to stand up.

"No one can…mock me!" I told him.

I rushed to him to give a headbutt.

But as my face connects to him. My nose. No. My whole face got ruined as blood was coming from my nose.

"Give up," he yelled.

He pushed me away so hard that I was sent back several meters away.

"Never!" I grasp in pain.

I know. The skill I have to create. I am free. From the moment of birth, I am always free. I am beyond him. I have to create a way to surpass him.

He suddenly appeared in front of me!

He tricked me.

He didn't show me his speed ever before.

But suddenly, I feel something. A feeling. My heart is scared. But my mind is saying.

"This is what I want!" I said.

A swirl of air formed there. A ball. It expands as the wind roars in its form. A blast! This is a taste of freedom.
