Chapter 2 – Seeing is Believing
Together, they went out of the cottage and Hu Xian emerge his true form.
It is indeed a beautiful white nine-tailed fox, with the same facial marks on his face. Just like his human form. His eyes light up as he grows larger, larger than the cottage.
"You see, I can be this huge. You humans cannot even do anything like this. Utterly useless beings. Just a waste of space." Hu Xian said from up in the air. He bows down and breathe hot steam out towards Xiao Qing's face.
"The closer I see your face, you have so much dark spots than ever. You are so short too! What is that red mark on your forehead?" Hu Xian laughed loudly.
Xiao Qing simply just rolled her eyes, she started to regret bring the fox home.
"Powerful and handsome, but the character is so bad. I wonder how your mother teach you."
Xiao Qing spoke to herself.
After all is done, they went back into the cottage.
From now and then, Hu Xian started to treat Xiao Qing's cottage as his new home.
While Xiao Qing sells herbs to make a living. One day, her customer went back to her shop to make a complaint.
A complaint that got too personal which affects her strength to not cry.
"You are back human. Did you make money today?" Hu Xian joked and stopped to see Xiao Qing having a breakdown on the doorstep.
Hu Xian walk over and gave Xiao Qing a warm hug and head pats. He comforted her and she explained what had happened today at the market.
Growing up, life is not easy for Xiao Qing. She has not received such a hug ever since the pass of her family. Life in this cottage has always been lonely.
At night, Hu Xian turned into his fox form and let Xiao Qing hug him to sleep.
"Just for tonight. Do not think I will allow this again in future. Hmmp!" Hu Xian said.
Xiao Qing smiled and went to sleep.
Xiao Qing woke up early to make breakfast for herself and Hu Xian.
"Nice and disgusting at the same time, missy. Just kidding." Hu Xian said.
Xiao Qing shook her head, standing up to continue her errands of the day.
Back home, Xiao Qing gave Hu Xian a nice bath. Just like an owner and their furry pet.
"Can you want to wash me in my human form too? Hehe." Hu Xian giggled.
Xiao Qing rolled her eyes. Hu Xian transformed into his human form in a jiffy.
Xiao Qing screamed at him to change back. Hu Xian pouted his mouth, but he listened.
The little fox stare at Xiao Qing with eyes of affection as she gave him a clean on the head.
Slowly, days later, Hu Xian grew affection towards Xiao Qing.
Xiao Qing the same as Hu Xian, but she constantly tells herself that it's impossible.
"You are a mortal; he is a Prince of a Heavenly Capital. He will be a king someday."
Initially, Hu Xian do have plans to do the same to Xiao Qing like his past victims.
But he feels that he had formed a strange connection with her.
Days spent with Xiao Qing, by helping her out in her daily life. He had learned the hardship of humans and to respect them. Humans are hardworking.
From Xiao Qing's positivity, Hu Xian started to develop feelings for her.
He does not know if she feels the same for him.
