Butcher Shop 2

Joey walked into the butcher room and heard the door slammed behind him.

He looked around the room and saw a large array of butcher knifes 3 butcher stations but nothing to use them.

"Get over there kid and unpackage that beast and bring it over there."

Joey walked over and saw some 10ft (3meters) long birds wrapped up in stretchy-beast wrapping, he could make it out due to the familiar shape he has seen in the past.

They were normally wrapped in these kinds of things to prevent them from decaying and they are easier to carry and pack, the smallest beasts would be 10ft.

If someone was planning to hunt a beast over 50 feet (15.24 meters) they would have to make a special order of stretchy-beast wrapping to wrap them and send them to the butchers.

Joey set his eyes on the bird which he would consider his forte then Sina said "Not that one kid, Try something that will challenge you".

Joey looked was annoyed but re-evaluated his options.

The tallest beast was 14 ft but that would take too long but he needed to go home to Rayla soon so he decided on something a little smaller at a 13ft sky unicorn.

Joey chose the unicorn pulled it to his station.

He looked at Sina waiting for him to start but and remembered he didn't have a knife.

Sina watched him fumbling around the beast and saw him stalling.

"Tch! which butcher doesn't have a knife"

Joey was embarrassed because she hit the nail in the head, but his machete was broken after he woke up he figured it broke when he attacked Naomi but couldn't recall it perfectly.

She took a knife from her waist and threw it over to Joey and said "10 points off you have 20 left."

Joey took the knife from her but was sad when she decided to take points from him for not having a knife, but he had a trump card under his belt.

He picked a station and used a pully to get the beast up to the table. He sharpened his knife waiting for the pulley to finish and pushed the beast on the table.

The beast landed with a "thud" on the table.

Sina watched Joey with a cautious gaze making sure to take note of how he approached the beast, She watched him and informed him "This is the only unicorn that has been killed in quite some time, even though it is abnormally small and, It's still precious".

Joey acknowledged her with a nod. The beast landed on the table and Joey got to work. He used the sharp edge of the knife and slashed the stretchy-beast wrapping and exposed the Sky Unicorn in all its pure white glory.

The skin of the beast was relatively hard, Joey held the Knife like he would a machete and slammed at the neck of the unicorn.

The neck never came off in one blow but Joey managed to strike bone. He was a little disappointed but he had to accept this was a naturally stronger beast that had its meat softened.

"Don't worry about it kid just don't make a second cut in the skin."

Joey looked at his calloused hands, he clenched his fist and slammed at the bone he did this about 8 more times until the head flew off"

Sina watched as she was more and more impressed with Joey's skills.

The Bone of a sky beast was not something that one could chop through easily and the face that joey was able to chop it off was impressive.

She smiled and said with a satisfied tone "Not bad I thought I would have to stay here all day".

Joey continued with the process and bled and gutted the animal and took out his vital organs. Vital organs (Brain, Heart, Liver) from sky beasts were used for tempering bodies and hardening flesh and reinforce their bones, they have also been instances when they help with the manifestation of a superpower making them very valuable one way or another.

Delicately removing these delicacies allowed Joey to get to skinning the animal but something caught Sina's eyes.

She looked at him using the flat edge of the knife and peeling the animals skin back like he had done this before, she studied him with keener interest.

Joey proceeded to the peel whole animal and skinning it with the back of the knife, the whole process was labour intensive and made Joey sweat like he had never sweat before.

Joey's muscles were under-developed and he lacked superstrength to help him slip through the meat like butter. His muscles temples separating the meat from the joints and the bone.

He placed the different parts into portions by themselves, apart from the head every edible part of the beast was processed and put was and in the middle was the limbs.

The whole beast took 4hrs to butcher and during that time Sina had been doing her own thing.

Ms Sina at some point left him by himself to finish the beast by himself, he wasn't sure if he trusted him or not but he didn't mind it.

Sina finally finished and Joey saw that she finished two beasts by the time he finished one.

She came over and inspected his work, and she never showed any expression that showed she was impressed.

"Your not a bad kid, If you come here and deal with the small fry I'll hire you".

Joey was exuberant when he heard this.

This was his first step in being able to provide for himself and butchering helped him grow more muscles.

Joey tried to calm the tingling in his as Sina was finished with his assessment and waited for Sina to address him.

Sina looked at him with a satisfied look

"Kid I never thought you were gonna be able to do it, I really was planning to chop you up If you failed."

The smile on Sina's face sent a chill running up and down Joey's spine.

Sina thought of what she should do then said "I'll give you 300$ for every beast you carve, It's late so tomorrow you'll deal with new arrivals and don't butcher anything over 13ft".

Sina led joey toward a side door in the butcher room.

She walked into a larger room and the lights flicked the lights on. The room was stacked with beasts lined along the walls, the largest was by itself in a corner, there were also large pulleys in the warehouse that Joey could only assume was to butcher the beasts and they were all beside a stationary elevator.

"If you deal with the small fry we can clear out before shipment tomorrow you can stay here tonight and get cracking in the morning"

"Wha-"

"Get to work enough chit chat"

Joey was surprised by the turn of events and how his workload quadrupled in seconds but he couldn't stay and leave his sister.

"Ms Sina, I have a favour to ask"

"No kid I'm not adopting you, you should be grateful I gave you a job given how young you are"

Joey's expression cramped when he heard Ms Sina, he never knew someone would recognize him that quick.

If he did then other people might have caught onto him.

Joey was embarrassed and depressed he took the idea of living there out of his mind "It's fine Mam, I'll go home and get back early in the morning."

Joey cleaned his station and left.
