3-Men Down

The sound of cement and watery chunks of flesh could be heard, sabre grunt looked over to the sudden noise and he went pale.

His head struggled to look back.

After he looked he wished he never saw it.

He saw Joey take the staff that once impaled Shelia and slammed it onto the ground the head of his comrade that had his arm taken off.

After the man with the sabre attack Joey and backed him off, he wasted no time. He grabbed the staff making Shelia's body fell.

He ran to the man who was holding his one hand. He was on the ground wrapping his arm.

Maybe he forgot that he came t kill Joey, but he never planned to remind him.

The 700-pound staff slapped his head off his body. Joey only had his eyes on the guy with the sabre and spear.

"Big brother, I'm sure we don't want any more casualties and I have somewhere to leave. Let's stop with the meaningless.

If you kill me it will be yours, the spear will be yours."

Jekren chuckled insanely then he said "Don let' go report to young miss, she will know how to avenge our comrades.

Even if she doesn't I will" the man turned around then said "Leave him, he is going to die. We will get revenge on our comrades."

Don looked at his comrades in his arm to lose the life in his body. His breathing stopped and so did his struggling.

Don had the only resentment in his eyes, he shot a glance at Joey and listened to his captain but he carried his body.

He didn't think there was a way for him to ask for the body of his other two comrades.

Reluctantly he turned away and ran.

Joey watched the men disappear from the alley and felt relief came over him. He thought about who could be the one that could have sent someone for his life and no one came to mind.

That made him sceptical about a lot of people he met during his time.

His mind ran on Eisha but she had no reason to send people.

While he was thinking something flashed in his mind. They asked for the handle. Does that mean it was Michael? He also remembered Grisilia wanting to buy it, he quickly narrowed her down as the perpetrator.

He couldn't completely rule out Michael but he was sure he was right.

He looked at the Bodies and felt a headache come over him. He never likes throwing dead bodies away.

Leaving them there for MIlitary to trace it back to him was not ideal, they wouldn't believe an orphans word over someone with power.

He reluctantly fitted their bodies into the dumpsters bags he would empty. Joey broke their bones and allowed him to fit them both into a single bag.

Emotion took over Joey when he looked at their faces.

It was much easier killing them and discarding them when he wasn't able to see their faces.

The woman's eyes were detached and empty, her face was pristine a real beauty and seeing the hole in her chest he felt guilty.

Joey finally realized there was no point in worrying about it, he stuffed the bodies in the dumpster used in the garbage to mask the blood and the smell of the garbage would blend in with the stench.

He looted then looted the weapons of their bodies. Joey knew nothing about the value of these things were worth.

He believed it to be worth something though, the hook sword seemed like a regular weapon but the red whip seemed to be made out of rare elastic material.

At the end of the alley Joey looked back at the trash, he was trying to see if he was trying. He remembered one of the things his grandpa told him about butchering.

The memory was hazy for Joey but he remembered his Uncle telling him about butcher law.

You should always keep things clean to prevent 'contamination.'

He remembered this and wondered. Was he just teaching him to clean up after killing someone? Did he already plan for him to kill people?

Joey realized the word that his grandpa said had a lot more meaning than he needed to think about.

He thought about the book that his grandfather gave him and started to think that it had to be something good.

He put off going back for it in the woods because he didn't want to risk getting ambushed by the guys who were in full black. Last time he was lucky to escape but he never fancied his chances another time.

Joey looked at the time and finally thought it was time for him to leave. That didn't happen, he felt something in his throat as a fish turned sideways in his neck. A burning sensation left him on his knees trying to gasp for breath.

He stuck his finger down his throat, he vomited up and out came the dragon pendant in his vomit and bile.

After getting control of his fit of coughs he realized that it was the dragon pendant causing his pain.

It was shining with its blue light.

A minute after it died out, Joey felt glad that his body still felt light and nimble. He was worried that he would have to swallow it to have that feeling.

He took up the pendant with the dragon inside of it and pocketed it. He didn't know what it was for but it was surely a good thing to have if it was able to make him stronger.

"What kind of alley is this? Is it just filled with bad luck?"

The sun was down and he needed to reach the Martial Center, he quickly ran out of the alley in a blur; making sure no one saw him.

He ran the rest of the way to the Martial Arts Center.

When he reached, it was well light and many people were still going through the doors.

It didn't seem like there was a night at all.

"Joey, what are you doing here?" Joey looked behind him only to see Eisha with her same make-up on only a little bit better.
