CHAPTER EIGHT

"Do you know him?" My sister uttered suddenly.

I won't say yes 'cause I'll deny it of course. Simply shook my head and focused my eyes on what I am eating.

He was still on the edge of the veggies part of the store and didn't even bother to watch his steps. The only thing that I'm confused about is why does he need to be in here?

I'm so sure that he lived in the City and the market there is like a mall unlike here. Well, not to say that our market in provinces is very old and dirty.

What I'm just saying is he's not fit in this kind of atmosphere. He lived in a City that owns maybe a lot of companies, we might never know.

"Moira, can you watch the store? I'll just go to Dianna's house," I informed my sister.

"Why? What is your point of going in there? Did the two of you go back to friends again? Do you two forgive each other already?" Moira mumbles all those questions in front of me.

"We were friends ever since, what---,"

"Have you forgotten already?" She asked in super confusion.

"Forgotten what?" Asked in confusion too.

"God! You both were in a fight! Since last month," She uttered and raised her both arms to express her emotions.

On the other side, I can't believe that even the simple fight that Diana and I have forgotten about is so easy!

"Yah! I'm going to her to talk. That's the reason why I'm going to their house,"

There are no words I could say and there isn't a lot of alibis to use. Maybe if this works, then this will work.

"No, you finished that man's order. I'll just roam around in the whole market, mom told me to roam these veggies so they would sell fast.

"Wait! Moira, I can do that. Selling in the whole market with veggies isn't hard for me, so I'll do that for you." My voice raised and that made the anonymous man turn his gaze to us.

"This isn't heavy Heart, I can do this. Just be here in the store and finish that man's grocery, I think he's buying a lot of veggies and fruits."

She uttered and tap my shoulder before getting all the vegetables and fruits in the basket. Moira wink at me and pointed to the man whos now still busy picking up his choice of groceries.

After a few minutes of reading a bunch of recipe books. The man in our grocery went in front of the counter with his groceries to pay.

He had a lot of veggies, fruits, and meats in his basket. Moira was right, this man is going to buy his whole month's food.

Instead of being strict with the man, I then changed my mood into a friendly one. My sister has a point of not being too strict with our customers, but she didn't know why I'm like that.

The man put all of his groceries on the counter one by one until he got finished. As he was doing it I'm also scanned all the tags of its amount.

He was just looking at me the whole time and that made me more felt the awkward moment. This man should distance himself from me.

I cleared my throat and squeeze my palm secretly before speaking.

"450 pesos," Informed.

"Here, keep the change." The man uttered and hand me the one thousand money.

He's taking a secret glance at me while my eyes were snatching a glace from him too. It's a bit awkward to accept what he just said to me.

Of course, I'm not going to accept the change of his money, he might need this in the other store that he'd go after our store.

Quickly, I wrapped all of his groceries before placing them in a big echo bag with the receipt.

Knowing that he might don't need the receipt but it could help him if his girlfriend asks for it.

I'm just being too advanced mindset cause what if his girlfriend got angry with him. It was all cost 450 pesos and then he wastes the rest of the one thousand pesos.

Letting me just keep the change of his money isn't fine for me. Nothing is free in this world, that's the reason why I don't accept others' help and offers.

"Here's your grocery sir," Mumbled with a smile.

I handed him it all with the change of his money inside of the echo bag. Knowing that he will insist on giving it all to me that's why I secretly put it all.

He smiled back and bow his head before turning his back on me. As I was about to go out into the counter area he suddenly looks back causing me to bump into his chest.

"Ah!" I groan and held my head.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were in my back." The anonymous man apologized and help me to balance.

"I'm fine, you can go." Mumbled in norm voice as all of my vision got clear.

"Are you sure?"

He was holding my head! my hands! my shoulder! What else could he can touch after those body parts!?

"Ah, you can now ho I'm already fine and please let go of my hand." Assuring him that I'm fine as I get off my hand out of his hands.

"Oh. I'm sorry," He apologizes again and quickly walks out into our store. With his belongings and groceries that he just brought.

That man was very sociable and friendly. Still, I didn't know his name yet. When should I ask for his name so I could formally thank him for all the help he gives.

It has been so early for me to get tired but I couldn't help it. My eyes were dizzy and my body is wanting the soft touch of my bed.

I laughed in my mind and shook my head for disagreeing with what I'm thinking.
