Scaring Away Coach Smith

'CRACK'

Once Rei heard the crack of his bat he knew that the ball was gone. When he saw the ball leaving his bat he watched it soar into the air down the center of the field, and go over the 30ft gate as Rei heard cheers flooding the field.

Tossing his bat aside and he looked behind the umpire straight to Yuxin who had her hands in the air while their eyes locked in together. They both smiled but he also threw her a wink and started heading toward first base.

Once he stepped on first base he started heading towards second base as clapping still surrounded the field until he reached home plate where Stars and Stiles were waiting for him.

"Fuck man you smacked that shit out of here," Star said to him once he reached home plate, as they started high-fiving between the three of them as they headed towards the dugout, but not before Rei turned towards Yuxin again and threw her a cheeky smile.

"I know man, were you waiting for the changeup?" Stiles asked him as Kyle walked past them heading towards the batter's box.

"Yeah when we were talking earlier in the dugout I saw he only threw it one time between the four of you guys, so I figured I'll target the fastball and hope he throws a changeup, and I hit it so far because I have power," he replied with a slight smile on his face as they sat down on the bench just the three of them; as they watched Kyle hit a grounder towards the pitcher who picked it up and threw it towards first for a long-awaited second out.

"So are you just gonna throw fastballs for the next game?" Star asked.

"If I pitch yeah, I feel like it's pointless to show off with my other pitches when they're not necessary," he honestly replied as Kyle and Austin switched positions between the dugout and the batter's box.

"True, but I saw a certain someone when I was on second base earlier, and he was with a certain coach," Star said with an excited smile on his face.

"Who?" Stiles asked as Rei was just in between them not paying attention, watching the at-bat.

"Sora Nakamura the famous catcher for the school," Star said excitingly.

"No way!? I heard he's a sophomore that is going to varsity." Stiles said with a dumbfounded look on his face as Austin hit a curveball down the first baseline into right field for a double that could've been a triple if he wasn't so damn slow.

"Yeah, he's by the other dugout with coach Smith," Star replied as he got up and started walking to the batter's box.

'Might as well ask who he is now.' Rei thought to himself seeing as they were making such a huge deal.

"So who's Sora Nakamura?" he asked Stiles, still looking at Star starting his at-bat.

"He's a famous catcher that's been in a few magazines like you and he started JV his freshmen year, and was bumped up to Varsity. It's said he'll rank nationally this year just no one knows how high which is still crazy for a sophomore, there's even a chance of him making the USA National Team, but it's just speculation though if he was, our school would have 4 players this year deemed All-American, and promised a spot on the USA National team." Stiles replied passionately like a little schoolgirl.

"Who are the other three?"

"Their seniors this year, but they made All-American and played on the National Team last year, Xu Kai; Pitcher, Minho Park; Second Baseman, and Leo Knight; First baseman."

"Oh okay," he responded while Star hit a line drive towards the player between 2nd and 3rd for the finale out which meant the end of the game.

"Game set Team 1 vs Team 2, the winner is Team 1 with the final score being 4-1." the umpire yelled as he waited a few seconds before talking again.

"Team 3 vs Team 4 will be next, you have 8 minutes." the umpire yelled again before going off the field to join the rest of the coaches.

"That was a good game," Stiles said with a smile on his face, happy they won the first game and only needed one more game to win to make the team.

"Yeah man, so glad we won." Star joined in as they started packing their stuff.

"You wanna sit with us Rei?" Stiles and Star asked as they were walking out of the dugout.

"... No, I'm gonna go sit with Yuxin," he said with a teasing smile towards them as he started walking in front of them heading towards the stands behind home plate towards the delightful Yuxin.

"It's supposed to be bro's, first man." Rei heard Star say behind him as he kept walking and started shaking his head.

'Not with her.' he thought to himself with a little chuckle as he started walking up the stands towards Yuxin who was sitting in the middle, she was looking towards him with a red tint face that contained a smile that made her look even more captivating.

Once he got next to her he put his stuff down and sat right next to her as he was about to talk before she suddenly hugged him.

"You did fantastic out there. Your skills are amazing." Yuxin said happily.

"Glad you liked it," he said as he whispered in her ear before he slightly nibbled the top of her ear slowly and seductively before breaking the hug, grabbing her left hand, and putting his arm around her.

As she dug her face into his chest in embarrassment and slightly hit him with her free arm.

"Dummy." Rei heard her say shyly but quietly as he just chuckled and started rubbing her head gently messaging her scalp.

"Do you think we can beat the team who wins this one?" he asked as he was still playing with her scalp.

Yuxin moved her face to the right so she could talk but her head was still resting on his chest, which she felt was extremely comfortable due to his broad shoulders and sturdy chest.

"Yes definitely with the way you pitch, it'll be really hard for them to hit off of you while your offense is just as monstrous as your pitching," Yuxin said seriously but cutely as she snuggled a bit deeper into his chest like a kitten found their perfect sleeping spot, as the game between Team 3 vs Team 4 was about to start.

"That's what happens when you have a batting cage inside your backyard since you were born." Rei slightly joked as he saw at the bottom of the stands Coach Smith was coming up towards Yuxin and him until he was in front of them.

"Hello Mrs. Sun, Rei Kitsune, that was a good game out there. I'm Oliver Smith, the JV head coach, and pitching coach." Coach Smith said once he got in front of them with a hand extended out looking for a handshake.

As both of his hands were occupied with Yuxin, and he was not a fan of touching people, he just looked at his hand for a second before making eye contact and speaking.

"Thank you, Coach Smith, is there anything you want to discuss with us?" he said briefly, still making eye contact as Yuxin didn't say anything but just did a slight nod as an acknowledgment while Coach Smith retracted his hand awkwardly.

"No, not really, I just wanted to talk to you and tell you that I'm looking forward to your next game and how you perform. Anyway, I'm sorry for disturbing both of you so excuse me." Coach Smith said with a smile as he turned around and started walking down the stands.

"I think we scared him off hehe," Yuxin giggled.

"Yeah, I think so too," he responded as he switched from rubbing her scalp to rubbing her delicate smooth rosy cheek, as he felt her smile as she snuggled into him again while they watched the first batter of the game leading off.
