Chapter 40- Love versus Loyalty (Part-2)

Yasmin woke up early. She had no idea what time it was last night when she finally dozed off after a long period of crying. She sat up slowly, rubbing her burning eyes.

Declan was not in the room. The bedspread on his side was not wrinkled, indicating that he had not slept here at night. This saddened her.

She blinked her tears away as she got out of bed and went into the bathroom. She noticed the bags under her eyes when she looked in the mirror at herself. There were also dark circles.

"I have to use a lot of concealer to cover up these dark circles," she mumbled dejectedly, touching her face.

Declan walked into the hall, sweat dripping from his brow. He couldn't sleep well at night, so he went jogging to clear his mind. His agitation increased rather than decreased. Furthermore, he was suffering from a headache. His body was sluggish. He wanted to take a day off and rest at home for the first time in two years.

He sagged on the sofa.
