At the hospital…

Earl wiped his tears away and checked his phone, only to see Natasha's number.
"Shit…" He wiped his face, remembering his promise to go home early and accompany her to the doctor's appointment. He had forgotten about it after Amber's phone call.
He cleared his throat and answered the call, "Hey."
Natasha was about to ask when he was coming home but changed her question after hearing his hoarse and heavy voice. "Are you not feeling well? What happened?"
"It's… uh…" His voice shook, and he couldn't continue speaking. "That… um… Amber is no more. She committed suicide."
"What?" Natasha exclaimed, then fell silent.
"She jumped off the hospital building," he added. He inhaled deeply and exhaled shakily. "I am at the hospital… outside the morgue. The hospital authority has called the police."
"Wait, I am coming."
"No, no, don't come here. I-I will be back after some time."
