Suki’s mood was officially shitty the moment Allison mentioned Brent. That bitch knew exactly what she was doing. She was a great manipulator. There was no way Sukie could allow her to ruin the night with her psycho behavior though. She was going to get to the bottom of this.
Sukie decided to shake it off until she saw Brent and could ask him herself. Brent hadn't paid any attention to Allison since he caught her cheating. She had to be lying.
Why would she trust words from the one person who couldn’t stand her? She refused to give her the satisfaction of ruining the night.
Sukie and Vikki finally made it to the entrance of the party and walked into the fabulous house where the music was blasting, and a bunch of the attendees were drunk or passed out already.
“Great, this is going to be a shit show.” Sukie said, rolling her eyes.
“It’s going to be fun, Su. You will see.” Vikki replied.
“I guess,” Sukie said.
Sukie wasn't interested in drinking, but she was definitely going to have a celebration drink tonight for her birthday.
Hopefully, it would distract her from what just happened with the fake ass blonde.
Sukie didn't really care about Allison's verbal attacks. She was more hurt that Allison and Brent may have gotten back together.
Why would he do that? No, he would tell me something like that. She thought as she tried to put the negative thoughts out of her mind until later.
Sukie kept going back and forth in her mind as they continued their way through the mob of happy, tipsy, off-rhythm graduates. She had to admit, they were having a blast. It was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves.
“Look! It’s Abel!” Vikki shouted over the music.
Vikki spotted Abel from a mile away and immediately got excited as if she won the lottery.
“Hey Su, I’m going to go say hi to Abel, are you going to be ok by yourself?” She asked.
“Yeah, I’m a soldier. Go get your man!” Sukie said with a wink.
With a flash of her pretty smile and a switch of her hips, Vikki strutted over to Abel who was totally delighted to see her.
They immediately embraced and started dancing. They were so adorable to watch.
Vikki was so happy being around Abel. They would be the perfect couple if they finally got together. Sukie thought.
Floating out of her thoughts, Sukie realized that she was standing in the middle of the room, alone.
She began looking around to figure out what her next move would be, so she wouldn’t look like a loser. She never really went out to party, so she felt awkward.
The flickering strobe lights were in sync with the music, creating a true party setting. The music was really good too. She couldn’t help but sway her hips a bit as she walked.
Towards the center of the main room, there was a beautiful glass three-decker table filled with champagne glasses. The lighting surrounding and beneath the glass table was a blend of pinks and blues, which reflected beautifully off of all the glassware.
They really put some work into this party. Sukie thought.
At 12:00 all the graduates were going to have a toast. It was also her birthday at that time, so she wanted to make sure she got her champagne glass. You only make eighteen once. She thought.
The DJ came on the microphone and instructed everyone to grab a glass of champagne just as Vikki decided to go grab hers. It was close to 12:00 and she didn’t see Brent anywhere, so she continued making her way to the champagne table.
Suddenly, Sukie felt a strong arm grab her around her waist from behind as she looked back.
Brent smiled at her with two champagne glasses in one hand. He handed one glass to Sukie and held the other for himself.
“Hey, birthday girl, are you ready to celebrate? It’s almost time.” He asked, with one arm still wrapped around her.
Sukie smiled at the familiar sound of his voice. It was amazing what this man could do to her with just his voice. She almost forget to respond with how good he felt as he pulled her close to him.
“Uh, sure, I guess. I'll be legal in a few minutes.” Sukie giggled.
Brent turned her around, pulling her close to him. She was completely confused at his behavior, but she didn’t stop him or mind it one bit.
Why did this man always have this effect on me? She thought.
She was totally loving this new Brent. She could definitely get used to this.
“Do you have the present I gave you, Su?” He asked.
“Actually, I do,” She said, triumphantly.
He smiled with a twinkle in his eye.
“Let's go up to the balcony. Follow me.” He said, as he took her hand in his to lead the way as she followed.
The enormously large house had a few balconies from what she could see as they walked up to it, so Sukie wasn't sure which one he was talking about. She wasn’t going to try to figure it out on her own either, so she simply kept following him.
As they started making their way to the stairs, Sukie felt a push that caused her to stumble and spill her champagne.
Gathering her balance, she looked up to find Allison standing over her with her glass of champagne in her hand.
“You little rat!” Allison screamed through her teeth as she threw her champagne on Sukie.
Sukie pounced at her as Abel grabbed her from behind in mid-air while Brent stepped in front of her, placing a barrier between Sukie and Allison.
