Heist 1

A few days have passed, and an important game event is coming up.

The Vepar Auction House.

Tomorrow, they are holding a massive auction, and one of the items being sold is of interest to me.

Right now, my magic was at best considered average, but if I managed to get a droplet of Solan's ancient blood, it would skyrocket in power.

And that was of course what would be sold in the auction house.

According to the game's explanation, the blood was stolen from the buried corpse of an archbishop by graverobbers.

It was a pretty horrendous thing to do according to my Earth morals, but in the Etherium world, I couldn't blame them.

Chances were I'd try to do similar acts someday.

Anyway, I had to figure out a plan to steal the item, it was absolutely necessary for me to take on larger threats.

If I could absorb it, my light magic would become strong enough to where I could actually stand a chance of fighting a high class death knight without the need for confusion stacks.

And of course, if I used confusion stacks, the fight would actually become fairly winnable.

From my game knowledge, I knew the auction was extremely difficult to raid.

There were multiple mages with mutated magics and 2nd minds.

If that were not enough, an archmage with 3 minds was participating in the auction.

If I tried to raid it by myself, hell, even if I had a plan, I'd get decimated instantly.

There were too many powerful guards as well as even more powerful attendees.

So my plan was simple.

The Vepar Auction House would be brought down by the Church of Solan.

It was already considered as a blackmarket auction house, but it was frequented by many nobles, and thus it had a level of immunity in the eyes of the law.

If I were to inform the church that their god's blood was being sold as some sort of trinket, they would not hesitate to storm the entire auction house.

Lucky for me, I had a high profile contact in the church.

---------------

As class ended, I had noticed that my reputation was significantly improving.

People started looking at me in awe.

It seemed that my feat of defeating a death knight had spread already.

I wouldn't complain, it was better to be respected than to be looked down upon.

I approached Cassenia, who was seated with Iris.

I requested Iris to leave politely, and surprisingly, she didn't put up a fight.

Maybe my expression was serious?

I explained my situation to Cassenia and she responded with an uncertain tone.

"Uhmmm.... It's true that I hold power in the church.... but I can't just demand that they storm an auction house on your words alone..."

Cassenia looked at me with an awkward expression.

After all, I was making a big ask of her.

"B-but... I can help you!"

She looked at me eagerly, her blue eyes gleaming with anticipation for my answer.

Having her be with me would be useful, but even with the power of a Saintess we'd still get fucked up.

If it were her future self, maybe it would be possible.

"Err... I don't think just the two of us are cut out for such a mission. Is there anyway I could convince the church that what I'm saying is really true?"

She looked disappointed for a second, before wearing a serious expression.

"If it truly his grace's blood... Then the church would not hesitate to turn the entire organization to ash. But still, if it turns out that it wasn't actually there, then there would obviously be huge issues."

It seems my relationship with her had not improved to the point that I could ask such a huge favor of her.

She took a deep breath.

"But... I can request for one of the inquisition commanders to meet you. If you could convince them, then it would definitely be possible."

"Well... If that's the case, I'd appreciate it if you do so."

Having an inquisition commander help me would mean having one of the 5 church inquisitions helping me, which was more than sufficient to obtain the blood.

It should be possible to convince them using the lie I had concocted earlier, If I was in this deep because of it, I may as well use it to my advantage.

If I said that my divine revelation was related to that auction house then it should be easy enough to convince them.

The only issue was I'd have to find a chance to secretly drink the blood.

Well..... I'd figure it out one way or another.

----------------------------------

Ragan looked at the boy in front of him with great suspicion.

A report had come in earlier that he had received a divine revelation....

Many such reports were received daily, yet there was naturally no proof supporting their claims.

'But there's one clear issue...'

The tall man stroked his well groomed beard as he observed the small orb of light in the boy's hand.

His brown eyes twinkled with interest.

"So you're telling me you've lost your ability to use your family's hereditary magic?"

Although it was extremely rare at this age... if it were a student of Etherium Academy... it may have been possible for them to have opened their second mind.

"Yes, after I received a divine revelation from Solan, my magic changed from shatter into light."

The white haired boy had responded with the utmost confidence to Ragan's question.

Ragan was inclined to believe the boy, firstly, he didn't have the magical aura of someone who had opened up their second mind.

Secondly, from what he had read on the boy, there was no chance he had managed to train up until the point of unlocking his second mind.

"Hmm... This is a personal question... But why did you decide to accept the revelation? Losing your shatter magic for an unmutated magic would be undesirable to many..."

The boy seemed as if he had expected to be asked such a question, and smirked.

"See, it seemed that Lord Solan has anticipated the auctioneering of his blood. It was his intention to give me light magic so that it could be strengthened by absorbing his blood."

Ragan placed his hand against his face, reflexively tracing the large scar that ran across it.

"So... his grace has ordered for you to absorb his blood...?"

He sighed.

"Ah, I don't mean to doubt anything of your divine revelation, but I'm just curious as to why his grace... would choose you.... I've naturally done some research on you, and to say the least, your past isn't exactly illustrious."

The boy gave an understanding nod and his eyes portrayed a sense of anguish.

"Lord Solan... has shown me the way to live... from the moment he had blessed me, I have decided to live anew."

It was an answer that was greatly satisfying to Ragan, as he could relate to such a statement.

He roared in laughter before opening his mouth again.

"Well, that's that! I'll personally ensure my Dei Division of the Church of Solan will support you in taking out this auction house!"

He shook the boys hand before leaving the room in a great mood.

---------------------

'That easy huh? Who would have expected that he'd take my words so easily?'

A divine revelation was not something to be taken lightly, and considering the circumstances, it was believable enough for Ragan to take it as truth.

And if it were truth, then he would not hesitate to help me in fulfil me in completing what I was ordered to do.

It was an opportunity that would not come again.

And if things went well, I could use the church to obliterate the vice principal.

Things were going smoother than expected.

I felt a little bit bad about using the church like this, even more so considering their god was already dead, but it was a necessary step for me to take.

'Anyways.. it's probably for the best they don't learn of Solan's death'

If they were to find out the being they had worshiped for so long was dead, there would be untold chaos.

I then thought of Ragan and the Dei Division.

I was lucky to get a more easygoing inquisition commander such as him.

My responses were tailor made into pleasing him, and it seemed that it worked.

I slept easy that night. Awaiting the upcoming calamity that I had orchestrated.
