An Earth for Every Life

"Kael," I called.

He was buried under a mountain of paper works.

"What are you doing?" I was lounging on a couch in the corner of his spacious working room.

"I'm a busy man," he replied curtly.

"I never imagined this is what demons do."

"Why?" he asked without looking up. "Did you think we spend all our time going to Earth and whispering in humans' ears to make them kill each other?"

Shit. That was exactly what I thought.

"Demons and humans are mostly the same, we got jobs and stuff" he said. "We just live longer. So we're more advanced."

I crossed my arms. "So… Can you tell me where my party is?"

Kael stopped writing and set his pen down then leaning back in his chair.

"I could… but why should I? Why do you care? Did you like that blue-haired man?" There was a hint of jealousy in his tone.

"What? It's not like that!" My face is growing hot.
