Ezra's staff of darkness had a cool feature that allowed it to float by itself. It was not in his hand at that moment, but with a thought, it floated towards him for him to grab unto it. It was quite strange, seeing a modern day young man holding such a staff like some kind of sage.

Stanley was unsure what holding that staff entailed, so he chose to speak up and explain things more to better clear up the situation. Seeing Ezra's unfriendly expression was not very comforting.

"We do not intent to persecute you for tonight's actions or the other illegal things you've done in the past. You should know the situation with S rank hunters leaving the country, we..." Stanley felt he was giving away too much for no reason, so he held on.

'Oh? Really? I can always escape, so it won't hurt to give it a listen.' Ezra's facial expression became instantly more approachable after listening to what had just been said.
