Chapter Five

"So there exists different types of hijacks, each class with their own levels." Yelenith began.

"Low class includes for example Mental manipulation, the kind that you're currently experiencing."

So, she was a whisperer.

"Yes, I am."

"I can freely control channels."

"So how do know who wants to talk?" a random voice asked.

"It's a need that pulls me in. Thats all I can say. But I can also choose to not acknowledge that need."

"And on that note, I would like to show you all a small presentation."

There was a small pause.

Then with a whoosh, everything went silent.

Huh?

Park couldn't hear his thoughts. That little voice in his head was gone. The only voice that was audible was Yelenith's.

[The ink has been slightly stirred and has recognized an external interference]

Park felt a weird movement across his skin. But he brushed it off. He took a look around. Some were tapping or flicking their heads. Others were puzzled. Others were calm.

"Hmmm, it seems there is a decent bunch here, some training you did at home?"

Yelenith was probably referring to the calm ones. Maybe there were psychics in our class.

"And I can also do this."

Yelenith was playing them like a piano. Notes were played at varying times. Different mental channels were toyed with. After a long while. She finally deactivated all of the channels. She clearly had her fair share of fun. She giggled a bit then she was back to business.

"So that's but a small set of my many skills. We will get into finer details as we progress. You might be able to pick up a thing or two."

"So where were we...ah yes! Hijacking. Thats the first class."

"Low class hijacks are usually Mental based and may even go as far as illusions."

Yelenith saw Park stiffen a bit before he let loose.

"Interesting." She quipped.

She continued.

"Middle class hijacks are soul attacks on humans to..."

Wisps?

Park couldn't hold it in any longer. So far it was a 2 out of a 3. Poor guy.

Who said wisps?

The training room ones?

Puzzled thoughts spread across the room.

"I don't think that's possible. If that was the case, then it would have been a special one and a weird one at that."

"But if it was a lost soul...anyway we'll talk more when we cross that bridge mysterious person." Yelenith kept Park anonymous. She didn't as much as look at him as she answered. But without a doubt this question piqued her interest.

"And finally, the upper classes but thats a story for another day. But I'll tell you this if you're ever stuck in one of these, well let's just say GG or whatever you earthlings say."

Sometime later.

"So, this was a very eventful first lesson." Yelenith said as she picked up here teaching materials.

"I will see you next time." and with this she left the classroom.

8:00A.M

Next up was the Basic Elements 101.

Park and the rest of the recruits were in the field. There was grass everywhere and in the middle of it was an erected pillar with a glass ball fixed on it. Around the glass ball was a set of unidentifiable characters that surrounded the glass ball.

One of the recruits slowly approached the ball.

"Please don't touch that!"

All of the instructors were out of this world. Literally. They closely resembled the monsters from the other dimension. This instructor closely resembled a deer, but it was close. The only slight difference was its eyes they were stars in them. They amazed some of the recruits garnering an Oooohhh!! from them.

"So, hello my name is..."

''ARE THEY REAL?" A shout came from the back of the crowd.

"This is why I should never forget my glasses again," The creature mumbled to itself.

"YES, THEY ARE," The creature responded back.

"So, my name is Yiggrah and I'll be taking you through Basic Elements 101."

"You can see our learning grounds are quite spacious since things tend to get a little bit exciting."

"I believe everyone activated their affinities?" He asked

Park's first day. One word. Disastrous.

"Each wisp was set to activate your dormant innate frequencies. From the blazers to bloomers to jumpers just to name a few. Pardon my naming sense. But also, if you don't have an elemental frequency then worry not, the wisp may have activated other abilities from communion to a broader range of variants."

"So, if someone does not have their elemental frequency is there a reason to take this class?" a bespectacled recruit asked.

"Good question. Yes, you will have to take this class as it is mandatory, and it will equip you with the knowhow to deal with unprecedented elemental dangers. Safe to say that by the end of this class you will be able fend off most attacks."

"How so?" The recruit followed up further.

"From charms that nullify these attacks, blessings or even ruin carvings at the very extreme."

The recruit was satisfied.

"I take it that there are no more questions?"

The recruits looked at each other.

"All good? Great then. Let's begin."
