Chapter One: Kai~

In a forest that encompasses a large mass of trees, on a particular mountain in the forest, there was a big waterfall on it that formed a small stream of water running along a valley. There was also a cave that's not discernible on the foot of the mountain. It wasn't hidden but it wasn't in view either. In this cave, the moonlight was very dim and chilled air filled the surroundings.

"CRACK!!!"

At this moment, a cracking sound not too loud sounded in the cave. The culprit of that sound was a little cracked tear in the void. The void seemed as if it was mysteriously cracked open and then it closed back when a gray colored orb of light silently floated out. It seems to be swaying left and right and up and down in the air as if it doesn't have a certain direction to go. But what was strange was that, the gray orb of light, contrary to it's childish movement, it was quite a very high sentient being.

The gray orb of light suddenly stopped. Like a moth attracted to a light, it seemed to be attracted to something on the ground. It swayed in it's signature moves and approach it's interest. It's interest was a sleeping figure on the ground. Actually, it was not a sleeping figure but breathlessly figure lying cold on the ground.

It was a dead person.

The gray orb of light moved around the body for a while as if it was examining it. The figure was of a male body. It was a handsome young man. He had a trapezoid body shape of a very delicate and athletic physique. The only deal was that his body was very pale as if he had been dead for quite a while.

After some rounds of moving around the dead boy's body, it finally stopped above the chest, directly above the heart level before it suddenly plunged down and passed through the chest before it reached the heart of the boy, then, it assimilated with the heart, fusing with it.

The color of the heart changed several times, shuffling from white and black- gray. It never once appeared with another color. Finally, it flashed with a gray tone before it settled back with it's original blood red color.

A few more minutes after this phenomenon occurred, the figure's hands twitched a little, followed by his eyes and then his eyes fluttered open. At this moment, he doesn't have a pale complexion anymore and his cheek were now tinted with a rosy color.

He stood up from the ground with unsteady steps. His eyes had great confusion flashing in it. After he saw that he was in a cave, a confused expression found it's way to his face but even so, he didn't panic.

"Where am I? What is this place? Is this a cave? It's so cold and why is it so dark?!" He muttered after realizing he was in a cave-like place since he could see an entrance. He seems to be displeased with the dim and chilled surroundings of the cave.

Soon he calm down, gathered his thoughts and analyzed his experiences "So I really died. And now I am alive in an unfamiliar place, does this mean I transmigrated? Is this what transmigration feels like?" He continued talking to himself while checking out the cave.

"In my entire life of reading web-novels, watching anime and playing video games like an Otaku, I would have never thought a lowly person like me, Kai, would transmigrate"

"But what was all that process just now? That gray orb didn't even give me time to react and just swallowed me just after my soul realized I was dead." He also seems to be familiar with the gray orb of light.

It turns out that Kai was one of those victims of the legendary transmigration that he had once read in multiple novels and watched in many films in his previous life. His previous life was very simple and he loved it like that. Kai seems remembered how he died.

Kai was a 19 years old ordinary guy on earth. His family background was neither rich nor poor but it was still very stable. He only had his mom with his junior brother in his family of three. His mom had a store where you purchase "stuffs like anime, video games, webnovels etc for otakus" and naturally, he had knowledge about otaku routines and habits even though he wasn't an otaku.

On a fateful day, he was on his way to his mom's store, coming back from school but then he saw a little girl who was crossing the road and didn't notice a car was rapidly closing in on her. He didn't know what entered him and he could have sworn that his legs, without his command, had automatically rushed forward to save the girl but while he successfully pushed the little girl out of the road, his luck wasn't good.

He couldn't get out of the car's path on time and got hit. He didn't know what happened after that as he immediately lost consciousness when he felt the car's impact. When he opened his eyes, he found himself in a colorless void enveloped by nothingness.

Then before he could react to his surroundings, he suddenly saw a gray orb of light in front of him. He tried to touch it but what he didn't expect was that he would get swallowed by the orb. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a cave without any sense of identity.

Kai quickly shook his head to forget those disturbing memories. The only thing he was worried about was his mom and lil bro. Under the cold night, he staggered slowly out of the cave, while cautiously and carefully being alert of any danger.

He located a stream near the cave and approached it. When he felt everywhere was clear, he swooped down and used his hands to take some water to drink as he was very thirsty. After that, he finally had the chance to look at his appearance of his reflection in the water.

Suddenly his face revealed a shock expression as he stared as his reflection in the water, and then his head suddenly felt like it was ringing.

"Aahhhhhh!!!!!!" He released a very painful cry from his mouth. It felt like a nail was fixed on his forehead and was beaten with an hammer for it to be drilled. While all this were happening, he started seeing unfamiliar scenes in his mind, memories of all sort appeared and even when all of this was finished, he was still feeling the pain.

He couldn't bear it any longer and lost consciousness, falling on his back beside the stream. Unprotected and full of loopholes for evil creatures to exploit.
