It was because he was very close with the Young Miss of the Lan Clan that was the same status as the Shen Clan of this Second Rate City, He remembered Lan Xue, a beautiful and innocent girl, They were very close since childhood, She always protected him from people with malicious intent and he protected her too as she did.

While the people around him was getting charmed by his looks, Ling Tian was angry at himself, he remembered the Shen Clan suppressing the Lan Clan to engage Shen Kun with Lan Xue, since Shen Kun always like Lan Xue but the old Ling Tian always protected her from him which sprouted the Seed of their Love between them when they were young. He remembered Half a year ago before the old Ling Tian died, Shen Kun told him that he was gonna be engaged with Lan Xue or else they would destroy their clan.

Ling Tian's Predecessor has already met Lan Xue's Parents and little brother a lot of times. They knew of their relationship and approved of it and do not care for his status because they did not want Lan Xue to be with Shen Kun since he is known to forcefully take countless of girls in bed and just abandons them after which would drive themselves to commit suicide.

But after that incident with Shen Kun, The moment Ling Tian took over his predecessor's body, due to his soul being injured not all of the old Predecessor's Memories came to him.

Ling Tian released the man and angrily left as he found an inn to stay for today and would start slaughtering tomorrow at the so called 'Wedding' with his lover.

The man who was released by Ling Tian was afraid as he said to his friend, "What a scary young man! He seems to care a lot for the Young Miss of the Lan Clan! It seems the Young Miss would be saved and the Shen Clan might perish!", his friend, who was also afraid of Ling Tian nodded and thought about the soon to be slaughtered Shen Clan by Ling Tian and just left it at that.
