The Night of the Party

Our car makes a slow entrance to the grand porch of the hotel which was hosting the event, I was wondering how she managed to get the invite while looking out at the infrastructure. "Wow, you have some great friends around here!" I said.

Carol chuckled and winked as she halted the car just outside the main entrance. The valet immediately opens the door for me, I adjust my dress before jumping out which makes Carol let out a burst of groaning laughter, sounding a little devilish.

I brushed off her remark and stepped out, valet helped me out by holding my hand while I tried to stand properly on both feet. Carol stepped out as well and threw the key to the valet, "I am not her driver, next time open my door as well!" she said. The valet was a little embarrassed and apologized to her while fumbling with the keys.

She joins me at the entrance door with her evil grin. I shook my head and looked down, as we were about to go inside, we heard someone call out, "Hey Carol!". We both turn around at the same time, but I was just as stunned as I ever could be.

It was a celebrity doctor whom I have always watched on TV and wondered, how could someone look this hot and chiseled. It looked unreal that she knew this guy and damn, the suit he was in, made me imagine how exactly he would look without it.

It took me a second to realize that Carol was calling me for about 5 seconds, I walked over to them without being sure if she would make herself look like a fool in front of him. "Meet Dr. Michael Polinski! He is a good friend since I interviewed him for my morning show. And Michael, this is my good friend Megan. We studied together in college, she is a new town, you know."

I smiled the whole time looking at both of them one after the other like a school kid who was stuck between a conversation between the teacher and the parent. It was quite unexpected that Michael almost immediately extended his hand to me and I could feel my palms were sweating badly.

I rubbed my palm on my dress to quickly dry it and extended my hand to him. "Nice to meet you, Megan!" he said in a tone that almost woke not just the butterflies but the whole zoo in my stomach.

But to both of our surprise, Michael just turns around and smiles at another person who was standing a few steps away from the scene. "Well, ladies! Meet my friend and colleague, Dr. Dylan Hill. He was a little shy to come but I guess one of you could give him some company."

Dylan steps forward making both Carol and me feel like the whole oxygen in the world was not enough for us anymore. He was a tall, brown-skinned, muscular man with a slender figure, any woman would love to accompany you, mister! I looked at Carol for a second to see if she agreed as it is pretty usual that females can look at each other and pass comments at a hot male without having to utter a word.

Carol inches a little forward to my ear and whispers, "Girl, he looks like more of your type! You take him and I'll take Michael!". I narrowed my eyes at her to indicate disagreement at her 'my type' statement, knowing both those exceptionally handsome staring at them eagerly I knew I had no choice but to agree to what Carol was saying.

Carol steps forward and puts her hand over Michael's arms and moves towards the entrance. I stood there watching them for a while, suddenly I could feel someone standing close behind me, so I turned. My lips almost brush his chin before I step back. My cheeks were burning already and my knee caps were trying their best to keep me standing strong.

"Shall we?" his deep voice made me gulp as I nodded without meeting his glance. He extended his hand, I placed my sweaty palm into his and noticed his beautiful smile which made me feel like I was dreaming.

"Do you want to go to the rooftop first?" he asked again as we made our way through the entrance and walked to the elevator which was on the left side of the grand hall which welcomed everyone who entered the hotel with open arms. I looked around to find Michael and Carol but they were nowhere in sight. Noticing my efforts to find them, Dylan picks up his phone and texts Michael. "They are on the rooftop too, we can meet them there." His voice was so soothing that I felt like lying my head over his shoulder.

I looked up at him as we waited for the elevator and noticed his face with a well-defined jawline and unusually dark eyes which looked as if they were telling a story of their own. He noticed my piercing gaze and looked back at me, which made me shake for a moment. I peel my eyes off him and look at the elevator door instead. Well, not suspicious at all! I noticed him smiling through the reflection on the elevator door.

The elevator door dings as it arrives at the ground floor and opens for us invitingly. Dylan makes his way inside, I follow right behind him. The rooftop was on the 49th floor, I stood next to him hoping the awkward silence would end some time.

More people began to enter the elevator every three to five floors after making it crowded by the time it was on the 30th floor. I moved to stand in front of Dylan so we could give space to other people who were coming in and moving out. His chest pressed against me, I felt his warmth and how toned his body was. This is so unreal! I felt his breathing go a little shallower as I felt his hand on my waist. I looked down at his hand and tried my best to keep myself from blushing blood red as it would be pretty obvious how much I desire him at the moment.

It was like waking out of a trance as the elevator arrived at the rooftop and we looked around to see there was no one in the elevator anymore. We fumbled for a minute and made our way out in search of our respective best friends.

"There you are!" I heard a woman's voice coming towards us, Carol and Michael stood in a tight embrace which made it obvious that they both have already broken the ice and it must be way easier for them as both knew each other.

"So how are you two getting along?" Carol asks as we walk to where they were standing. Dylan smiles looking down at me, then proceeds to put his hand around my waist in the same way he did in the elevator.

Michael and Carol look at each other as though they were just declared successful at some devilish plan. I look up at Dylan and back at both of them, "maybe we should get some drinks!" I said as it was getting a bit too awkward and Dylan's grip was growing stronger each time he held my waist.

"Of course, there's the bar. We both will go get you, ladies, your drinks. Find us a place to sit by then." Michael said already walking towards the bar with Dylan, before turning around he winks at Carol. Wow these two are having some chemistry going.

The moment they leave, Carol and I start walking to the seating area and this was the best time to give feedback about what was going on.

"Oooh, Dylan is definitely into you, girl! The way he looks at you!" My cheeks were again out of my control and began burning with the sudden surge of blood flow.

"You two though. I didn't know you knew celebs, babe! Michael looks better than any male models and he is super into you too!" Carol smiles as if I just told her she lost weight.

We had found our place to sit now, it was close to the railing which was decorated with olive leaves running all over it and space had the exact seating for four. We sit across each other and look over to the bar.

"Well, this is only good if you are just in for a one night stand, these guys don't commit! Just so you know." That statement did make me think for a second before I turned to look at them approaching our table with our drinks. I wish Dylan liked me like I already like him.
