Tailing Valerie

"Who is this Stella and what does Valerie have to do with her?" Lucas mused incoherently. When he observed that Valerie had ended her call, he quickly tiptoed away from the door and pretended to be deeply engrossed in his work on the shelf.

Valerie came out of the convenience looking a bit enraged. She took in a deep breath to rearrange her scrunched face and strolled over to the desk. She turned off her laptop, picked up her handbag and strolled towards the door. Before she unlocked the door and stepped out again, she turned in the direction of Lucas and said.

"Lucas, can you please tell your dad that I have resumed work today? I just need to quickly run an errand and I'll be back soon." Valerie faked a smile and stepped out of the office before Lucas got the chance to reply to her request.

"We will see about this quick errand of yours." Lucas sneered. He hurriedly rounded up his work within a minute and left the office straight to the car park.
