Hello Mother

Matilda felt a cold splash of water over her face, causing her to jerk slightly. She opened her eyes and tried to sit up but a compassionate male voice told her to lie back down. She turned her gaze in the direction of the gentle voice and was stunned to see a young handsome man staring down at her.

"How do you feel?" Adrian asked calmly while smiling down at his future mother-in-law.

"Who are you and what happened to me?" Matilda answered Adrian's question with another question. She tried to ransack her brain and find out why she was lying inside the house with a man sitting beside her.

"I am a friend and you fainted," Adrian replied plainly. He stood up and beckoned on Abigail to come closer.

"I fainted!" Matilda thought out loud. "Why did I..." She froze instantly as Abigail came into view.

"Hello, mother!" Abigail said icily, her expression was frigid and her tone was emotionless. "I'm sure you're not about to pass out again."
