8 Their little night out ...

After she was announced as the Crown Princess, Elizabeth approached her to help her to their chairs. Right after they were seated, Edward secretly looked at Elizabeth's hand. He had wanted to hold her hands ever since he had seen her.

Elizabeth giggled as she saw Edward looking at her hand nervously.

"Here, you can hold it," Elizabeth said as she offered her hand, but he was too nervous to hold it, so, instead, she grabbed his hand and held it.

Elizabeth smiled at his reaction. She really didn't mind being the Crown Princess or whatever title she was given as long as she is with Edward. But if being the Crown Princess would mean being with Edward, she would take it.

It was the lingering feeling she had ever since she was 8 years old, and yet they've only been together for a week when they were kids. It was that short time that they felt the strong bond between them, a strong bond that would blossom into a beautiful and unyielding love that no one can break.

"Hey, I know you hate parties. Let's go to the back garden. There's someone I want you to meet," Edward whispered to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth only looked at him, but still nodded. Edward asked for permission from his parents to take Elizabeth to the back gardens since all of the guests are much caught up to the festival and the music.

They secretly snuck away to the back garden.

When they arrived at the back garden, a huge dragon was resting there.

Elizabeth gasped in excitement.

"Is that your dragon?" she excitedly asked.

"Yes. I'd like you to meet Nalrene. He was still an egg when we first met," Edward said as he guided Elizabeth to his dragon.

A loud flapping sound circled them from above.

"Qeillith, come. Transform yourself," she ordered her dragon.

Dragons were magical creatures, they could transform into a human being to help their master.

As Qeillith landed, she transformed into a beautiful lady, but Elizabeth's beauty was more mesmerizing that Qeillith's.

Nalrene seeing the dragon transformed, he was amazed. He hasn't mastered his human form yet which made him angry at himself.

"As you know, dragon's are magical beings and can transform into humans to help their masters. I see Nalrene hasn't mastered his form yet," Elizabeth said as she approached Nalrene and gently patted his snout.

"He's still young after all," Edward said as he touched Nalrene's face.

"Yes, my Qeillith can teach him things he still doesn't know. It is vital for a dragon to fully serve their dragon to their fullest potential," Elizabeth said.

"Then, I will teach him everything I know, my lady," Qeillith said as she bowed down to Elizabeth and she nodded in response, pleased to hear Qeillith's words.

"Let's go take a stroll. I haven't seen you for such a long time," Edward said as he held Cordelia's hand tighter.

"We have all the time in the world Eddie. No need to rush," Elizabeth said as she stroked Edward's face.

"We will leave you to talk about your lessons now, is it okay Qeillith?" she asked her dragon.

"As you wish, my lady," Qeillith said as she transformed back into her dragon form, Nalrene also followed.

"Now that we are alone, do you have anything you'd like to tell me?" Edward asked.

Elizabeth thought long and hard but she didn't have anything to tell him, well, that was what she thought.

"I was expecting you'd tell me how much you miss me," Edward said as he lowered down his head because he felt embarrassed.

Elizabeth laughed at how he blushed.

"I was taught not to tell those words first to a man, but yes, I do miss you," Elizabeth smiled shyly.

Edward laughed. He was happy, no, he is happy and he will still be happy as long as Elizabeth is with him. He badly wanted to kiss her, but it is by tradition that no Crown Prince is allowed to get intimate with the Crown Princess as long as they are not yet married in order to preserve the Crown Princess' virtue.

"But I missed you more. Didn't you know, every summer, I begged my parents to let me stay at Carleston Castle so I could be with you, but every time summer comes there are always noble guests that I need to entertain," Edward explained.

"Ahaha, you really don't have to explain Eddie, it's your duty as a Prince. But, don't you worry, I will be by your side from now on," Elizabeth said as she held both his hands.

"I know. Hey, do you remember how you treated me when I arrived at Carleston? You were so indifferent back then. Your face looked like you were going to eat me alive anytime I make a tiny mistake. You were so scary back then," Edward teased.

"Hey, I wasn't scary. I was actually trying to be friendly with you, I was so nervous facing you back then," Elizabeth said.

"Haha, you were so serious back then, but now, you're so different. I mean, not the bad kind of different, but you know what I mean," Edward said, scratching his head.

"Oh, haha, I had strict tutors then, they said a future Empress should act with grace and elegance, so I tried myself to be like that. And as you've known, I've had difficulties since I was young, that was also one of the reasons why I was so indifferent back then," Elizabeth said.

"Hey, mom said I have to cho--"

"Choose some Low Queens, I know. It is your duty as an Emperor in the future. You have to, to make the kingdom strong," Elizabeth said as she leaned on Edward's shoulder.

"But I don't want to. You're my only Empress," Edward said as he moved a string of hair from Elizabeth's face which made her smile.

It was being beside each other that made them happy, perfectly happy.
