19 Chapter : 19 Devils School

In a classroom filled with the vibrant energy of about 40 small children, ages ranging from 5 to 6, Dylan found himself standing before the class as the teacher sternly instructed, "Introduce yourself."

Attempting to clarify, Dylan met the teacher's gaze, saying, "Miss, you've got the wrong kid. I'm not a student here." His words, however, only seemed to frustrate the teacher, who commanded, "Go and take the seat there." Despite Dylan's continued attempts to convince her, he found himself unceremoniously placed at a desk.

Surveying his surroundings filled with devils, Dylan couldn't help but wonder, "Don't tell me I'm in a school in the underworld." He mused as the teacher delved into the topic of devil power scaling.

Telepathically reaching out to his companion Liridian, Dylan expressed, "Liridian, this power scaling is different from the one you told me."

"It must be the local power scaling of this world," Liridian responded.

Curious about his devil class, Dylan inquired, "So, what devil class could I fall into?"

After a moment of contemplation, Liridian provided an analysis,

"Low class devil - below Apprentice level phase 5

High class devil - Apprentice level phase 5

Ultimate class - somewhere around Apprentice level phase 9,

Maou/Satan class - around Planetary level phase - 1/2

Super devil - planetary level phase 5."

Realizing his potential, Dylan remarked, "So I could be considered a high-class devil."

"Hmm, you should be, but I can't rule out super devil; they might be more powerful if the teacher is providing accurate information," Liridian suggested based on the teacher's insights.

As the class unfolded, Dylan found himself increasingly intrigued by the information, particularly captivated by the concept of evil pieces that could be used to reincarnate the dead, albeit with some limitations.

The classroom buzzed with information, creating an atmosphere of suspense and discovery.

As 30 minutes passed, the class concluded, and the teacher left after giving Dylan a stern warning not to skip classes again.

"I should probably return to the human world; if someone discovers I'm missing from school, there could be a frantic search for me," Dylan mused while seated.

Suddenly, a group of students surrounded him. A small, cute girl with short black hair named Mia initiated the conversation. "Hello, you must be a new transfer. I'm Mia. What's your name?"

"I'm Dylan Gray, but you can call me DG in short," Dylan replied, drawing attention. Just then, a boy with blonde hair and dark blue eyes, standing at 4 feet, entered dramatically. "Hello, my young devil fellows! I am Riser Phenex, from the powerful Phenex noble family of the Underworld. I'm here to select some female devils from each class. The chosen ones among them will have the opportunity to join my peerage."

The blonde boy stood before the class with an arrogant smile, capturing everyone's attention. Despite the facade, his eyes subtly darted toward a girl engrossed in conversation with a white-haired boy.

As he confidently approached, his gaze fixated on the girl. "Miss, don't waste your time on low-class devils. I'm here to recruit for my peerage. Focus on that," he declared, bluntly disrespecting Dylan without a glance.

"What's wrong with this kid?" Dylan mused, unfazed by the childish comments. Unyielding, Riser persisted in displaying his superiority to the girl. Growing weary, Dylan decided to step away, leaving the classroom in search of an exit.

As he sought a way out, a hand abruptly halted Dylan's progress. Turning, he found Riser, now a foot taller, blocking his path—a confrontation inevitable.

"Low class, why are you running away?" Riser sneered with an arrogant smirk.

Dylan shot him an intense glare, causing a fleeting moment of fear in Riser, quickly replaced by a facade of calm. "What are you glaring at, you stupid low class?" Riser tightened his grip on Dylan's shoulder, but it had no effect.

"Riser, are you bullying people again?" A soft voice cut through the tension in the corridor. Dylan turned to see a girl, perhaps a year younger, with distinctive long crimson hair.

Approaching them, her puffed cheeks fumed with anger. "Riser, if you don't stop bullying students, I will complain to the teacher," she declared.

"Dammit, this girl is annoying. I don't like her at all," Riser mused in his thoughts, immediately faking a warm smile. "What are you talking about, Rias? I was just saying hello. Since I've said it, I'll leave." Riser briskly walked away, leaving behind a tense atmosphere.

As Rias comforted Dylan, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder, she addressed Riser's bullying. "That Riser, just because he's a senior, he bullies his juniors. But you don't need to be afraid. If he ever bothers you again, just come to me. I'm in the next class over there."

Caught in thought, Dylan looked at Rias and muttered, "Pufferfish," unaware that the word slipped from his thoughts. A sudden silence gripped the corridor, and even Riser, who was making a swift exit, froze. He slightly turned his head, shock visible on his face.

"What.. did...you... just...say?" Rias questioned, each word punctuated by a short pause, mirroring her sudden flare of anger as she glared at Dylan. Yet, his attention shifted abruptly to something else. "Liridian, what was that?" Dylan mused to his companion.

"It seems like some kind of barrier has surrounded the whole school," Liridian explained. Closing his eyes and scanning his surroundings, Dylan observed adults in a state of panic, running around as if caught in a tense situation.

"Why are you dozing off now?" Rias snapped, shaking Dylan. As he opened his eyes, the lady teacher who had earlier ushered him into the school rushed in, panic evident in her voice. She ordered all the children to enter their classrooms, a palpable sense of panic and tension enveloping the atmosphere.

Outside the school building, two figures floated in the air—one, with slightly grey skin and pointed ears, donned a black cape and villainous attire, while the other, a man in his 40s, wore a dark blue waistcoat, matching pants, and a white shirt, resembling a school authority figure.

"Why is the old Satan faction trying to attack my school?" questioned the school authority figure.

"We're here to hunt down potential threats for the future," replied the villain with a sinister smile.

"You're making a big mistake; you still have a chance to leave," warned the school authority.

"Mistake? I'm fully aware of what I'm doing. I've already placed a barrier around the school that blocks all connections from the outside world. Even if you try to break it, it'll take you around 15 minutes. But do you think you'll have that chance?" taunted the villain with a mocking smile.
