A day in school

"And another day starts." I said reaching to shut off my alarm clock. As I got up to go into the living room I see the front door standing wide open, after closing it I walked to the kitchen to see a stranger munching down on a plate full of flapjacks. Never mind it's just my really fat friend Austin Pimber (AKA: Two Ton) he is ranked 13th in the school. The nickname doesn't mean what you think, his ability allows him to harden his skin to the strength of diamond or steel. Now if you excuse me, I have to talk to this moron.

"Hey what the hell did I tell you about leaving the front door open".

"Sorry, forgot", He said in a whiny tone and with his mouthful.

"That's your excuse every time, but anyway what was on the news this morning".

"They said there finally researching climate change".

"Really?"

"no I'm just kidding but they did say that the army will be moving out here shortly."

"It's about time the army steps in, those Rouge bastards have already taken out over half of the special forces and they wiped out most of the naval fleet." I said disappointed.

"Yeah no joke" he replied

    The Rouge's started out as a group of protesters. They didn't like the way the new government was doing things as of late. About one year ago intel said they got a donation of military grade weapons and artillery. Then like three and a half months later they started to fight the government with their ground forces who they call there GRIM soldiers. As they started to fight back more and more joined their ranks and then the Rouge turned into their own nasion. They assembled their own militia in a matter of two months and have been fighting since.

"oh-ya,  Hey two-ton im willing to bet you that you didn't get the wood for the stove…. right?`` I asked.

"Uhhhhh….. No.`` he said hesitantly.

I leaned over and said with a smile, "well then get off your ass and go get the wood… NOW."

    He inhaled his last pancake and ran out the door hacking and coughing while screaming about me being late for school. I looked up at the clock and it said 8:13am. Oh crap, so I ran to my room and grabbed my gear then ran out the door grabbing a candy bar from the counter. I got outside and hopped into my Humvee then when to go pick up my friend Zai (AKA. Isaiah rines). Zai is ranked 9th and his ability is extreme precision . As I pull up to the front of his place he ran up to the vehicle and jumped in saying "you better put the pedal to the floor, I am not going to be late because of you". So I slammed on the gas pedal and you could hear the tires squealing as I headed toward the school. 

After a while we finally reached the turn in to the school yard, we took that road for just a little longer. As we were passing the girls dorm I saw Flint leaving the side exit. I slammed on the breaks throwing me into the steering wheel as im gasping for air I said "this is why you wear a seatbelt kids". Zai got out of the truck and ran over to Flint and started talking to him.

Isaiah started to say, "what do you think your doing"

"Obviously getting something you can't get yourself" Nathaniel said with a smile.

"Get rekt" I said butting in, and still gasping for air.

"No really what were you doing", Isaiah asked.

"Why are you asking because last I checked what I do on my own time is my own business,'' he said as he started to walk toward his bike.

I yelled at him saying, "we're just going to follow you up to the school and don't worry in not a bumper humper." then I turned to Zai and said "Zai get your ass in the humvee we're leaving."

    Me and Zai pulled up to the front of the school as Flint headed around to the back, which is peculiar. Me and Zai ran up to the door swiping our ID's as we started parting ways I yelled back to Zai "se ya later" before zipping over to the stairs. As I ran toward the door to my classroom I looked out the window and saw nathaniel heading up the emergency ladder to the roof, I blew it off like it was nothing and headed to the room. I stopped right at the door to catch my breath before walking in. As I open the door I see another student come flying out of the door, I looked up and saw Ms.Hartman and she said "well nice of you to join us Red".

"Hey, how have you been since I last saw you, witch would be like yesterday, right?"

"Don't get all buddy buddy with me,'' she replied angrily.

 "Well I tried" I said straight faced 

"Get your ass into the classroom now"

"Awwwwww do I have to"

    Just as I finished speaking the teacher grabbed me by the arm and threw me into the classroom. I got up and walked over to my desk and sat down then looked over to find that Lizzy Hall (AKA Scarlet) was missing from her desk. I said out loud "so where's Scarlet teach?". Just as I said that the door opened and and Scarlet came waltzing into the front of the room then held up a tablet and said 

"I have returned to pick up at least one of the students so, Flint I would like for you to come with me".

"Sorry officer he's not hear like usual,'' I said casually

"Well you'll have to do, so will you come with me Mr. Knight"

"Now what did I tell you about calling me that, god, I can't win for lose with you people,'' I said standing up.

Then I heard a voice from the back of the room, "What do you mean you people".

"Forget it, let's just get outta here "

    I got up to walk out of the classroom as I got to the doorway and I heard people Saying "what the hell he literally sat down and he was late to class as well.'' We started  walking out into the hallway when she asked me where Flint was so I told her to follow me.

"So why are you looking for him anyways are you going to confess your love to him?"I said with a smile

"No, I've actually been meaning to talk to him for a while."

"Ok so why did you grab me instead is it because i know where he is?"

She stops in the middle of the hallway and turned to me and said, "the supreme council would like for me to talk to you guys about some job openings."

"Wait when did you get to talk to the supreme council?"

"You know when I got pulled out by the principle a few days ago."

"Oh the day I was actually on time to class?"

"Ya that day."she said in a confused tone.

"so what kind of job?"

"I'll tell you at the same time I tell Flint, so let's hurry up and go"

    We started back down the hall reaching the stairwell to the third floor. Then we turned the corner to go up the stairs to the rooftop. As we started going up the stairs we see a girl running down the stairs. She ran right past us hoping we wouldn't notice her buttoning up her uniform. We decided to ignore her as we approached the door to the rooftop. 

I opened the door to the roof and said "Hey Flint where you at."

"Over hear near the air unit."

As I'm walking over to him I said "Hey your flies down."

He looked at Scarlet and said "You like what you see.", then zipped up his pants.

"Hahaha screw you too."she said hysterically then continued to talk. "The supreme council would like me to ask you something very important."

"Ask or demand?" Flint replied.

"Shut up, they asked if you (Flint) would like to join the student council?

"So when you say ask do you mean I have no other choice,'' Flint said as he crossed his arms

"Ya that sounds about right."Scarlet said with a smile.

I butted in, "quick question, so why am I here?"

Scarlet replied, "oh ya so they asked if you would like to be in the junior council as well as you Flint."

"So what position would I have exactly?"I asked.

"You would be vice president and Flint would be president and in Army ranks you both will be Private 1st class."

"Makes sense but what is the junior council?"

"The junior council is a group of 5 students that we will send out periodically throughout the remainder of the year. You will be sent to fort Rumford in Chicago."

"Hold on isn't that where they will be sending the Army to fight the GRIM?"

"Yes and you will be joining them there and, you also will be known as The Reapers.", and no matter what they can't learn your real names."

"My turn, so who in the other three members of this Squad?", Flint interrupted.

"They said for me to leave it up to you, they even reassured me that it would work out."

"Well if they left it to us… welcome to the team rep."

"What, are you insinuating that you want me to join.", Scarlet replied sharply.

"in big words, yes.", Flint said

"No it makes perfect sense to me, you have the skill of a well trained fighter and you have access to the supreme council so you can give us orders directly,'' I said as I walked over to stand next to Flint flint.

"Well i'm going to have to inquire about this you know."

"No you won't, you said that it is made up of five students."

"No, you're right I guess I'm in, but I'm still going to check into this"

"That will be just fine, oh by the way i'm leaving the others up to you

two then,``Flint said as he opened the door and went down the stairwell from the rooftop.

"Well I guess I'll talk to you later Scarlet." I said as I jetted down the stairs as well.

    As i was walking back down the stairs I decided not to go back to class but just head to the gym. They called it the gym at the start but it was really a hollow chamber. The hollow chamber is made of interactive holographic technology. Witch is what they tricked us with when we saw the phantom creature the first day here. Turns out that the people who got roasted like marshmallow were illusions well not them, but when they bursting into flames they dropped through the floor panels. That means that everybody's abilities could have been faked as well.

    So I continued heading to the "gym"  so I can scout for recruits. A lot of people head there to spar with other classmates during and after class and there you see people's true abilities. I walk in and jumped up to the rafters again to watch the battles which by the way they were really boring. Then Zai walked out onto the field wielding his rapier. He approached center field then looked up and saw me and waved me down. I got down to where he was then he sheathed his sword and he pulled out his scroll laying it out on a table near us.

    A scroll is a holographic map that was given to us at the beginning of the year. It takes the appearance of a ring. It has a double function as well, it works as a transmitter/receiver there connected to our earpieces. The people your connected with can also see what you project on your scroll, and no you can't get on google with it. But for them to work you need to be in the same company or party. Just as we started talking ,the perimeter alarm went off.
