Chapter Twenty-Eight: The Morning After

"That was amazing, Lucilia..." Ren said as he laid in bed next to her.

Lucilia didn't say anything as she cuddled up next to Ren and fell asleep in his arms.

"You're so cute...."

After the night that Ren and Lucilia had together, both of them were exhausted and fell asleep cuddling each other.

*Meanwhile outside of the room*

Ivy was sitting on her bed without any clothes and heavily panting. Next to her was a tablet showing camera footage of Ren and Lucilia's room.

"Lucilia...you're so lucky, my daughter." Ivy said to herself while trying to catch her breath.

Lucilia walked into her bathroom to clean her sweat and other fluids off, and she thought to herself.

"You two were lucky I stopped the guards from busting down your door."

As Ren and Lucilia were pleasuring each other, Lucilia's moans could be heard through the hallway, and some of the guards thought that she was screaming in pain. However,  they were wrong, as Ivy stood outside Ren's door and told the guards not to worry about what was happening. After the guards realized she wasn't in danger, Ivy headed to her room to watch her live recording of their room. Ivy and her daughter were very similar after all; they both loved their cameras.

Ivy pleasured herself at the sight she saw, Ren taking her daughter as Ivy watched without knowing. She imagined herself being with Ren, taking the place of her daughter, and she couldn't help but pleasure herself at the thought.

"Oh, this is going to be a fun trip..." Ivy said with the biggest grin on her face.

*The next morning*

Ren and Lucilia woke up together, and instead of getting up and starting their day, they went another round in bed and afterwards took a shower to clean themselves off.

Afterwards, Ren put on his normal clothes, and Lucilia put on another dress, this time a black one.

As they got out of the room, Lucilia had one of the servants she had brought with her clean the sheets of clothes that were now spread around the floor.

The two walked to the bridge hand in hand, where Lucilia asked the bridge hands "How long before we arrive at Titania?"

The bridge hands noticed the two holding hands, and they all had a slight smile on their faces.

"Not much longer now, a few hours until we arrive, and maybe another hour or two before we find a place we can land safely." one of the pilots said.

"Good, any trouble while I was asleep?" Lucilia asked.

"No, ma'am, everything has been running smoothly, although Mae did leave us with a message saying she would like to see Sir Ren whenever he is available." one of the pilots said.

"Sir?" Ren asked the pilot.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Do you wish not to be called that?" the pilot asked.

"I don't mind it, but why did you feel the need to say it?" Ren asked, very confused.

"Pardon me, but I assumed you and Princess Lucilia were together now by the sight of you, so you deserve more respect." the pilot explained.

Ren sighed. He figured people would start to act a little differently towards him now that he and Lucilia were now displaying affection publicly.

"I understand, but please, you don't have to use Sir or any other honorific; just call me Ren. It makes me more comfortable that way." Ren explained.

"If that's what you wish, Ren." the pilot said.

"How does it feel to be treated with such respect?" Lucilia asked, sitting on her captain's chair, smiling.

"It feels weird." Ren said, being honest.

"Well, if I tell you the truth, it's going to get worse once the news reaches Volaria. Considering we'll be together, I wouldn't be surprised if our faces were plastered on every media channel around." Lucilia said with a smile.

"Well, as long as it's with you, I don't mind." Ren said, smiling at her.

"Stop being sweet; Mae said she wants to talk to you; there'll be plenty of time for you to say even more sweet things in private." Lucilia said with her face blushing.

Ren walked up to the captain's chair, kissed Lucilia, and started to walk to Mae, but before leaving, he said, "Lucilia, I love you."

Hearing this made Lucilia smile very sweetly. "I love you too, Ren."

Ren left the bridge and started to head towards the hanger where the knights are kept, where he ran into Mae.

"Ren, good, you're finally here. There's something we have to show you." Mae said as she guided Ren to where Nemesis was being worked on.

"Is something wrong with Nemesis?" Ren asked with a little concern.

"Actually the opposite, we finally managed to upgrade the weapon systems for you." Mae said.

Ren smiled, knowing he was now able to use his new weapons.

"Step in, and we'll put you in a simulation where we can test your weapons." Mae said, smiling.

She was very excited with the work she and the engineers put together. She expected nothing less than the best from her work. It's what drove her to be one of the top inventors on Volaria.

Ren got into the back of Nemesis and started to run the program that Mae told him to run.

This program would enter him into a simulation where Mae could also talk to him in order to help him completely get used to his new weapons system.

"Okay, Ren, are you ready?" Mae asked on the comms.

"Yeah, good to go." Ren responded.

"Okay, I'm spawning three enemy ships in front of you; do you see them?" Mae asked.

Ren turned his head and saw three ships similar to the ones he just destroyed hovering in front of him. "Yeah, I see them."

"Okay, your first target will be the rightmost ship; destroy it with your main rifle located on your left side." Mae instructed Ren.

Ren grabbed the rifle located on his left hip and held it up, aiming at the ship on the right.

"Fire when you're ready." Mae said.

Ren fired, and a burst of what looked like blue lasers shot into the ship, destroying it.

"Good job! The rifle doesn't use ammo; instead, it has an energy charger. Once you're out of energy, you won't be able to fire your rifle until you use an energy replenish pack that's located on your side as well. Now reload your rifle." Mae instructed.

Ren did just that, grabbing a glowing blue pack on his right side and replacing the half-full energy pack on his rifle.

"Alright, now the center ship, you're going to use your missiles. Press the blue button on your console to auto-aim and then the red button to fire.

Ren did just that as he pressed the blue button and it auto-locked on the middle ship, then he pressed the red button, immediately launching four missiles that split in half into eight missiles, destroying the ship in a massive explosion.

"Well done. Now for the final ship, you're going to use your sword." Mae said. "It's hilted on the opposite side of your rifle." Mae said again, instructing him.

Ren saw the small metal hilt on his side and held it in his hands. He saw a small button on the side and pushed it, causing a metallic sword from the hilt similar to how Lucilia's was when they fought in the Kuiper Belt, but unlike hers, the side blades of his sword glowed a silver hue.

"Mae, why is my sword glowing?" Ren asked Mae.

"Oh, that was requested by the princess, for you and her specifically. The glow is energy that surrounds your blades; this energy will make it easier to cut through materials, allowing stronger strikes. It won't be enough to destroy a warship, but it'll be enough against smaller ships and piloted machines like the ones you use on  Earth."Mae explained.

Ren didn't like what she meant by that last part, and Mae realized what she said and apologized "I'm sorry, Ren; that's not what I meant to say."

"It's... fine, just please do your best not to talk about me using weapons against my own people. I have no intentions of fighting against them." Ren explained.

"I understand, Ren, but what if they attack us? or the princess? What will you do then?" Mae asked Ren.

"I'll figure something out; I always do." Ren replied.

"Alright, just think about that, but to end the simulation, destroy that final ship with your blade." Mae said.

Ren did just that, flying over to the ship and slicing it in half, causing the simulation to end.

Ren got out of the sentinel and wanted to go back to the bridge and prepare for landing, but Mae stopped him.

"Ren... I really am sorry for what I said. I'm just not used to talking to your people yet, and I mistakenly talked to you like you were from our planet. I didn't mean to disrespect you in any way." Mae apologized once again.

"I understand, Mae. You honestly made a good point. What will happen if they attack us? That's something I need to think about." Ren said sighing.

"If I end up in a battle between Lucilia and the UNS, what will I do? What if it's the Eternity crew?" Ren thought to himself.

As he was thinking, he heard a voice on the ship's intercoms "All crew members, we have arrived at the planet Titania. Prepare for landing as we search for a suitable location to land."

Ren looked outside of the nearest window he could find and saw it—a luscious green planet not to dissimilar to Earth with two moons in its orbit.

"Finally, we're here."
