Chapter Seventy-Four: The Meeting of the Girls

"I'm glad all of you could be here today." Lucilia said, sitting at the head of the table.

At the table, there were multiple girls sitting down, looking at Lucilia. Among these girls were Scarlet, Lily, and Ashastha. The girls that were in a relationship with Ren, but they weren't all there. Also sitting there were Sthora, Eleonora, and Serenity.

"What are we doing here, Lucilia?" Scarlet asked with a slight blush, remembering what happened just a half hour before (AN: NSFW chapter on the Patreon reference).

Lucilia smiled "Well, all of us here have something in common, Ren. Everyone in this room has romantic feelings or even more towards him."

Most of the girls nodded, agreeing, except for Eleonora. Her face was blushing upon hearing this, and she wanted to deny what Lucilia had just said, but something inside of her just wouldn't let her deny it. She didn't know what was stopping her, but memories of her and Ren hanging out and talking about things that they were interested in flashed through her mind, including her and Ren talking for hours about mecha anime and mech figures. It was the first time that someone had understood her hobbies as much as he did since he shared them. She cherished these memories with hopes of talking about them further with Ren.

Then there was Sthora; she knew how she felt. She felt a strong connection to Ren since he was to be her fated one, but she could never reveal her feelings as they were tough for her to accept. She always thought that she would never meet her fated one, but one day, out of the blue, he was there, which was something she was not ready for and has struggled mentally to accept.

And finally, Serenity, someone who knew Ren from years ago but had finally been reunited with him, however, it seemed like he never had feelings for her. All of this time of her being back and he hasn't said anything to her about being with her, which was starting to frustrate her, especially with all of the attention being given to Lucilia, Scarlet, Ashastha, and Lily, she wondered why she wasn't being brought into the harem he seemed to be gathering.

Lucilia looked at the girls and said "I want to make something known."

The girls all listened intently. "I know each of you would like a romantic relationship with him, so we need to establish some ground rules."

"Ground rules?" Lily asked.

"Yes, if I had it my way, I'd chain him up to my bed and keep all of you away from him, but sadly, that cannot be, so I must do everything in my power as the first wife to make sure rules are made." Lucilia said proudly.

"First wife?" Ashastha asked. "No, Lucilia, he is my fated one, so shouldn't I be the first wife?"

Lucilia's red eyes started to glow hearing this "Is that something you're sure you want to argue with me, Ashastha?"

Ashastha stood up and stared Lucilia down. "Absolutely. After all, shouldn't I be his first wife?"

The tension was palpable, but then another voice spoke up: it was Scarlet. "I've known him the longest, so shouldn't I be the first wife instead?"

Both Ashastha and Lucilia turned to Scarlet with anger in their eyes. "NO" they both yelled in unison.

Scarlet, not wanting to back down, walked up to the both of them "Why not?" she asked. "I've known him since we were children; I know him better than both of you."

Then another voice spoke up. "So do I..." It was Lily who, for the first time, spoke loudly "I want to be his first wife!"

Lily's voice shocked everyone hearing this. They had never heard her yell something with so much passion before. "I've known him as long as Scarlet, so I should be able to claim to be his first wife too!"

That's when another voice chimed in "I'd also like to put my name on this ballot." It was Serenity who had been mostly quiet this entire time, but she finally spoke up in front of everyone. "While it's true I'm not in a relationship with him like you four and I didn't grow up with him, it doesn't make my feelings any less stronger, so I think I should be able to compete for the first wife."

Sthora and Eleonora looked at each other but remained silent as they both knew they didn't have a claim to be the first wife, despite both of them wanting it. But something stirred in both of them; they both wanted to be the first wife too. They stood up and walked over to the pack.

Lucilia was shocked, as this was not how she saw this meeting going. She just wanted to let the girls know that she had staked her claim, but things fell apart quickly. "Dammit Ren, if only you just let me lock you up in my mansion and spend your life with me—only me..." Lucilia thought.

Dark thoughts quickly entered her mind, while she was very protective over him. Just ask Cilan, who died on the side of a mountain as violent waves hit him constantly, Iena, who was a broken husk of a person, and her brother, whose body decayed while he was still alive. She had the personality to be cruel, but it was all for her love in the end, so she didn't mind it. She also wanted to get her hands on that Zaiga person who injured Ren, but all in due time. However, when it came to Ren's love life, she wanted to make sure nobody but her could have him, but due to his personality, her plans fell apart easily. Soon, Ashastha came into the picture, followed by all the others'. While hating this internally, she loved Ren too much to let him go. She had talked to Ren about this, and Ren, knowing her personal struggle with it, reassured her that even with the others now in the picture, he would love her, but she had asked herself "Would it be enough?"

The meeting was to ensure her position at the top of the hierarchy of the harem. She would not let anyone take that spot from her, no matter what.

"How about we just ask Ren?" Lucilia said, knowing what his answer would be.

"Fine, easy win for me." Ashastha said with a proud smile.

All of the others agreed to hearing this and walked over to where Ren was, just to be shocked at the sight. Ren had fallen asleep in the bed in order to take a quick nap since before they arrived at where Tsukiko was since he was tired after his...earlier events with Lucilia and Scarlet (AN: The NSFW chapter reference again) Ren was lying down on the bed, but next to him were Rin and Rei staring at him.

"What are you two doing here!" Lucilia yelled out, but she was still quiet enough to be whispering.

Rei and Rin were both shocked to hear her voice and nervously tried to run, but Ashastha stopped the both of them by grabbing their shoulders "You two have some explaining to do." Ashastha said with an angry smile.

Seeing this, Lucilia had a quick thought that maybe her and Ashastha weren't so different after all.

The girls took the twins out of the room and started questioning them "So what were you two doing?" Lucilia asked.

"We...were curious." Rei said with her head looking downward.

"Curious?" Scarlet asked.

"We heard moaning coming from outside of the door, so once you and Lucilia left...we wanted to see what happened." Rei said nervously.

Scarlet and Lucilia's faces immediately blushed upon hearing this, while the other girls stared daggers into their souls.

"What are they talking about?" Ashastha asked.

"N-Nothing." Scarlet said clearing it up, still embarrassed.

"She and Ren had sex, and I watched." Lucilia said with zero hesitation.

"YOU WHAT?" the girls yelled.

"LUCILIA!" Scarlet yelled in embarrassment.

"What? it's true." Lucilia said. "I'm the first wife; it's my job to make sure all of Ren's lovers are compatible with him...as infuriating as that is."

"So does that mean..." Lily thought to herself but shook her head in embarrassment.

After that moment, the girls continued to argue about what had happened while Rei and Rin snuck away from the group, hoping to go unnoticed, but they were not so lucky.

"And where do you two think you're going?" Serenity asked the two sisters.

"Uhm...we needed to go to the bathroom." Rin said trying to make up an excuse.

"Yup." Rei said, nodding in agreement with her sister.

Serenity, not buying it, walked over to them and said, "Nice try you two, but you're not off the hook." as she dragged the two back to the group of girls.

The sisters pouted in response to being caught.

"Now back to you watching..." Serenity said to Lucilia.

"It's not something I wanted to do. In fact, if it were my choice, he'd be only mine, but all of us know him." Lucilia said, sighing. "It's a tradition for my people to make sure that if the husband makes a harem, all girls are compatible with him; that way, not everyone could join the harem."

This shocked everyone who heard what she said. They imagined that if they decided to take the next step with Ren and officially become one of his wives, she would...watch the most intimate moment possible.

That was when Scarlet bluntly said what everybody was thinking.

"....Volarian traditions are fucked up."
