I'm Human

Ramier was addled by her response. Human? What was that? He didn't know what she meant by that. And she also said some strange words he didn't seem to understand.

"Human?" he asked and raised his brow.

"Y-Yes. I'm human."she nervously replied to him, breathing deeply.

"So?" he gave a questioning gaze at her.

'So....?' she questioned his response in the back of her mind. A million question marks appeared inside her head as she thought of his words over and over again.

"You'll drink my blood?"she hesitantly said and slowly looked at him. She held her breath.

'Too close.'

Their noses were almost touching. It made her heart race. Ashley shrunk on her shoulders to be farther from his handsome face.  If this carried on, she would have a heart attack.

No one could blame her, she was vulnerable to his handsome face. And this encounter was too extreme for her. She wondered how she didn't faint till now.

Ramier distanced himself and stood apart from her to give her some space. She looked like she was having difficulty in breathing. Her face was all red. He seemed to be the one causing her this.

"What do you mean I'll drink your blood? " he asked. His reaction was genuine like he knew nothing, which confused her. 

"You'll drink my blood cause you're a vampire and I'm human. " Ashley said it as a fact.

"What?" now he was thoroughly confused. She kept on insisting this human thing. What she said didn't make any sense to him. Seeing his troubled face, it only gave her the urge to explain. 

"Look.. Don't you know Vampires drink human blood?" she asked, doubting him. Of course, that was impossible. Hello? In stories, Vampires spread terror across the world just to seize humanity and drink human blood. That's the trademark for vampires. They. Drink. Human. Blood.

"Uhm...No."he said earnestly. He definitely looked like he wasn't lying.

"Haha—Sorry, what? "she was dumbfounded by his answer. She wanted to clarify if she heard him right. "You mean you.. don't drink human blood? " she said looking at him in disbelief.

"Ugh. Yes?" he hesitated. He hasn't heard of humans before nor recalling of drinking their blood.

"You're kidding.." she said but looking at his serious face. It was possibly true. "So No?"

He nodded.

Her nervousness disappeared and she gave out a sigh of relief.

"So... Uhm. You won't kill me?" she asked hopefully.

He creased his forehead and looked at her amused.

"Why would I kill you?" he asked amusingly.

Oh Right. Since he said he didn't drink human blood she was saved for the meantime.

' Yey!.. I guess.' she thought.

"Yeah, you're right. Haha." she laughed awkwardly and scratched her nape. Then she recalled what she did earlier. She wanted to kill him the entire time. What was she doing just now? She couldn't believe she embarrassed herself in front of this.. this person—vampire.

How was she supposed to face him now.

Ramier looked at Ashley who was currently spacing out in front of him. Her expression was constantly changing. It became uglier and uglier as time passed. Seeing this odd expression of hers, he suddenly thought that she was still sick from her injuries.

"Are you alright?" he asked worriedly.

"Yes.. Yes. Im fine" she said absentmindedly. She couldn't look him in the eye because of embarrassment.

Ramier couldn't find any words to say since the atmosphere turned awkward from her silence. Then a rumbling sound resounded from her stomach.

He looked at her embarrassed face and quickly remembered that she hasn't eaten a decent meal since she fainted. She was unconscious for two days and briefly woke up when she needed to drink medicine. He immediately went to ring the bell to notify the servants. Ashley looked at him and wondered what he wanted to do.

After a few seconds maids entered the room, carrying trays that contained food.

When Ashley laid her eyes on the trays, her mouth instantly watered. Her stomach rumbled once again . It was only now that she realized she was hungry and didn't eat much.

She blushed with humiliation. Why does she keep on humiliating herself? She acted like a fool.

The maids put the trays on the room's center table. The head Court lady bowed before the Emperor and the other maids followed. They bowed respectfully before the Emperor and left.

As they exited, the head Court lady gave a sharp gaze on Ashley. It looked like a glare. Ashley was somewhat unaffected for she was busy gulping down her saliva while looking at the delicious food.

Ramier turned to face Ashley who was now drooling at the sight of food. He couldn't help but raise the corner of his mouth again. She definitely disregarded everyone when she saw the food. Ashley glanced at Ramier because she felt his gaze on her. She saw his dashing smile that was directed to her.

'Ugh! My eyes... It's too bright! '

She wanted to cover her eyes. He was really a god. Even a smile leaked a crazy amount of sex appeal. It was too intense.

Ashley looked at Ramier like an awe-struck puppy. He could see an imaginary tail that was wagging behind her. He chuckled because she seemed to forget about the food.

He cleared his throat.

"I suppose you haven't had breakfast." he said.

"Uh. Yes. I-I.." she answered hesitantly.

" I'm afraid that I can't accompany you. I have some matters to attend to at the moment." he said politely. "And besides, I only came here to check the legacy's condition."

"legacy?"

"Yes.... And it seems that you are fine?" he asked.

"Yes. I'm alright." she reluctantly replied.

What was that supposed to mean? What's going on with the legacy stuff? She also heard that word while she was asleep and it was pertaining to her.

'What in the world?'

"As for your questions, we can discuss that later at Dinner. I also have a lot of questions I'd like to ask the legacy." he said giving her a mysterious smile.

She shivered involuntarily. What the —

He walked towards the door and temporarily stopped on his tracks.

" If you need anything. You can ring that bell. "he pointed to the bell beside the bed which he used to call the servants. She nodded at his instruction.

"I will take my leave then. "

He turned towards the door and left. Ashley was left there, completely baffled.

Her head was in turmoil.
