Experiment 2, Bones

Mitsuna woke up back in her cell. She did not know how much time had passed.

When she sat up straight, her body felt extremely painful so she laid back down.

'Passing out sucks.'

Checking her body, she could see no change in appearance. Although she did not have a mirror so that statement could be false.

Mitsuna laid there on the floor for a good while. In which she looked at her cell closer, something she didn't do at first interestingly enough.

There was a sheet that could barely pass for a blanket, no pillow and a toilet behind a wall that would only cover the bottom half. So even on the toilet they can still see you.

'No privacy. It's like they are planning on making me a tool for pleasure... ughh disgusting.'

After about another hour or so, Mitsuna only had linimal pain in her body. If she wanted to, she could walk although it would be painful.

Thinking back to the experiment, she felt a chill go down her spine. She dearly hoped that she would not have to go through that again and that her brother would save her any day now.

Thinking back to the void filled with images of creatures, Mitsuna shook her head.

'As I was falling unconscious the figures, or what I could see from them, turned more lifelike. They're weird. I hope I won't see them too often.'

As she thought back on it, she heard the flick of a switch and a dreadful voice.

"Good morning, my child."

'...! Your child? You b*tch.'

"You did very well during our last few experiments. When my coworkers suggested just flooding the rest of the blood into you straight away to not make you suffer for much longer I was opposed to it at first. But seeing as you are fine and healthy now fills me with Joy."

"..."

"Oh, come now. It is time for our next experiment. I will explain along the way."

Mitsuna was cuffed again. Even with the immense amount of powerful creature blood within her, she felt much weaker compared to before she had all this blood.

Walking past the blood room, she could hear screams of horror and pain.

Looking at the door for a moment, she averted her gaze.

"Well of course you aren't the only person here if that was what you were wondering, but compared to the rest of them you hold so much more... potential."

The woman said with a horrible smile.

"And about today's experiment. We wish to observe a high ranking creature's cellular structure within their anatomy. The bones in particular. If a creature is born with strong blood and a lot of mana, what effect will it have on the skeletal structure? I bet you are also curious, hmm~?"

Entering the room next to the blood room, Mitsuna saw a similar table but this time the room was particularly empty.

The scientists placed her on the table and just as she laid down, her body started to ache.

'Nothing has even happened yet...'

Getting flashbacks to her time during the first experiment, she gulped.

The woman sat down on a nearby chair.

"I understand that you are quite the quiet one so well get straight to it."

Clapping her hands, a man pushed a large table inside the room.

On it were multiple tools.

"Great. And since I'm not a bad person, you'll be asleep so you won't feel any pain. Aren't I the nicest?"

As the man bowed and left, the woman created a strange purple magic circle.

"Beginning test 004."

Activating it, she spoke.

"Sweet dreams~"

Back in the void, Mitsuna could see the outline of the ground although it was still pitch-black.

In the surroundings, the images rested. Some were asleep while some talked pleasantries. The elf and angel were still exchanging blows through, creating a rather strange scene.

Not moving from her spot, Mitsuna tried to listen in on the surrounding few conversations but could not understand a word.

'How strange.'

Sitting down, she tried her best to understand anything she could about this strange place.

'My mind sure is strange. Or whatever this place is if not that.'

...

Back on the outside, maniacal laughter could be heard from Mitsuna's room.

The table was covered in blood. Mitsuna was still alive although her Health was dropping fast.

The woman, Nickolangela, used saws and hammers on Mitsuna's legs and hands, trying to get as many bone fragments as she could.

"Ah that beautiful face~ I wish to see it writhe~ I do! I do!"

"Oh. But I have to keep up appearance. Oh how tragic, what if the child doesn't trust me anymore~?"

"No. No. It will be fine~. It will! It will!"

...

Suddenly opening her eyes, Mitsuna found herself back in the real world, feeling a sudden rush of pain, she cried out, screamed.

"Oh deary me. It seems the spell has dissipated~. But please bear with it! I'm almost done~."

The woman took her sweet time as she used a saw to slowly cut off Mitsuna's hand at the elbow.

The scraping of a saw against her bones was unbearable but what made it worse was that the blood started running rampant as if it had found a way to escape a prison.

Now instead of only her arms and legs seething in pain, it was her whole body.

Some of the blood on the other hand started regenerating her body in places where the damage was not that severe.

Mitsuna's Health was low. Very low but she was still alive.

As her arm was fully cut off, the woman let out a sigh and placed the spell back on Mitsuna, letting the blood in her body do its work and slowly heal her.

Back in the void, as soon as she appeared, she fell to her knees and screamed in pain.

Holding her hand, it was still there but only in her mind.

Trying not to faint and fall on her face she, stopped herself with her hands as she looked around.

The previous peaceful location was now filled with chaos. Images of creatures fighting each other could be seen almost as if a battle for control. The only thing that stayed consistent was the pair of elf and fallen angel, who still continued their fistfight in the exact same way as if nothing strange was happening.

The chaos did not stop until Mitsuna's body was healed by the few images that didn't fight.

Another day passed. Another experiment, finally over.
