Mizuki cut the head off of another mercenary as she saw a wild flock of Pirate Lords running towards her, clearly angry.

Diving into the water, Mizuki activated her mermaid form.

Her legs fused leaving a black fishtail and her ears were replaced with gills as she placed her Rapier in her Inventory.

Swimming under the boats, she used [Dissolve] to make large holes in them.

Some were more difficult to melt than others.

She could have just used a spell but that would give away her position.

Swimming from ship to ship, she sometimes needed to dodge a misplaced spell or dead body.

When the ships were starting to sink, Mizuki used a combination of [Siren Voice] and [Seduction] to pull the weak-willed towards the water.

When enough of them were near she used [Horizon] and [Agility Based Assassination Arts (Basic)] to kill them.

With this simple strategy, she ended up killing nearly a hundred weak-willed mercenaries and a few demons.

Although she did this in under a minute, the Pirate Lords also found her within that time.

But before they could enact their plan and kill her, the loading finally passed the 98% mark.

And the 98% mark marked the start of the fusion and the end of the preparation phase.

The surroundings started shaking. By surroundings, the tectonic plates and the ocean with them.

A continent started rising from the ocean.

Mizuki realized and quickly teleported back to her ship.

"Brace." she told her crew as she placed a few spells on her ship to keep it steady.

The land could now be seen from above the water, the enemy crews were panicking, not knowing what was happening.

Mizuki looked down into the shaking waters.

She used her new skill [Mana Eyes] as the clocks within her eyes started to glow and spin.

"Get ready to abandon deck!"

Right after Mizuki yelled this, the first part of the surfacing continent started to show itself above the waves.

A strange rock formation made of black minerals surfaced and impaled Mizuki's ship.

The ship was ripped in half as the rest of the continent surfaced.

All ships were now on land, beached.

Shigoto almost fell from the crow's nest and Tomi got a leg injury while the others seemed to be fine.

They seemed to be somewhere in the northeast of the continent.

Strangely enough, the western continent that was the closest to them had suddenly disappeared into the far off horizon without anyone realizing.

There was no vegetation on this new continent, just beached ships corpses and red mud under a layer of black.

'This can't get much worse.' Mizuki thought.

"Get ready for close-range combat. They will most likely charge at us at any time." Mizuki said as she teleported everyone to her location.

...

"They lost their range advantage! Charge!"

Some mercenaries started running with blades in hand.

The Pirate Lords, however, did not recklessly run towards their enemy.

They were cunning and sent both Maryse and Lia towards Mizuki, seeing two people that were supposed to be dead will definitely confuse them, that is when they'll strike.

But before they could start their plan, it was foiled again.

[Loading... 99%]

Plants and fauna suddenly grew from the ground, trees stretching far into the sky and bushes sprouting up between them.

It looked like a jungle. It Was a jungle.

...

"Good. This will give us some time." Mizuki said.

"Spread out into the forest. Some idiots are running this way so get some training in and assassinate them without being noticed."

'Another hard task.' is what the crew thought.

"I'll assassinate as many of the Pirate Lords as I can in the meantime."

'Another impossible task for herself.' the crew thought.

Using [Conceal] and [Humanoid Transformation], Mizuki turned back into a slime despite the skill's name and teleported towards the jungle.

...

"Jackson. We need to kill that woman. We don't have time to play around while the world changes around us or we might just lose our positions as Pirate Lords."

A man said as he looked towards Jackson the Sharpened Emerald.

"Use it. Call them."

"...Fine."

...

Hundreds of roars sounded out around the continent as beasts both Mythical and Legendary clawed their way out of the water making their way towards them.

Jacksons Esper Ability is Unique.

He can call upon and control any sort of Sea Monsters. It was thanks to him that the previous Pirate Lords were defeated.

Some of the beasts that were called upon flew through the air, while others dived into the freshly created ground.

Hearing the roars, Mizuki forgot about the assassination plan and turned back into her 'humanoid' form while standing on top of a tree.

'This place isn't good for large scale battles,'

'It will be easy to run from the beasts but I aim to kill them and a few sea monsters won't make me run.'

'Besides it will make dodging more difficult if the beasts are strong enough to uproot trees with a single attack.'

'The best option is to fight on a level field with no obstacles. It is beneficial both for me and them.'

Creating a massive magic circle of Crimson and Cyan, Mizuki made it spin in the air as she poured an ungodly amount of mana into it.

"This should clear the area."

Mizuki thought as she activated her spell.

Snow started falling.

The moment it touched any living cell, it would combust.

Trees? Ash. Bushes? Ash. Grass? Ash. Humans? Ash.

One of the Pirate Lords was even unlucky enough to die along with the plants.

Only 4 of them remained.

With the area now filled with ash, Mizuki turned Hinami's way.

"Take my crew and hide in the forest. I'll kill the beasts first, if you see a chance then attack the Pirate Lords."

"Got it, Sister. Oh sorry.. I- I meant."

"Just do it."

Hinami, hearing this replied with a smile.

"Yes!"

'She is warming up to me!'

Mizuki landed on the ground and started to make her final preparations. With her current massive amount of mana, she placed traps into the ground and made a copy of her gun just in case.

The final thing she did was make 2 new bullet types.

Time and Space.

The Time bullet would be fired and then float in the air until Mizuki activates it and the bullet will continue flying like nothing ever happened. If the bullet hits, the body part it hits will be trapped in time.

The Space bullet is more simple, it doesn't fly but teleport to its target. If it hits the target it rips space in a hexagonal pattern at the point of impact. The trail it leaves also rips space so it is nigh impossible to dodge.

Loading in 4 Time bullets and 2 Space bullets, Mizuki took out her Rapier, hung it on her belt, placed her hand on it and waited.

...

One minute later.

Almost all of the mercenaries were dead.

Shigoto was currently fighting Lia due to finding her in the jungle by coincidence.

The remaining Pirate Lords were standing a few hundred meters away from Mizuki.

It seemed like one was about to speak but got interrupted by the arrival of the beasts.

As a beast arrived from the ground, it suddenly got encased in a dome. A dome that resembled hell. That is the trap Mizuki placed.

As soon as the explosion sounded, Mizuki pointed her gun towards the Pirates and fired once. The bullet teleported straight to the only woman left in the group.

Half a second later, she was covered in a mana barrier yet that did not save her as she was cut into pieces.

Anger rose in the eyes of the remaining 3.

'A duel. But with two extras.' Mizuki thought as she stared at Jackson, her introduction to the sea.

The battle began.

Mizuki started off by teleporting all her spell infused knives and daggers into the sky and stopping them with Time magic.

Shooting two Time bullets into the air, she immediately let them speed forward and kill two flying beasts.

One of the Pirates threw a spear of Ice at Mizuki while she did this.

It wasn't very impressive but it was strong nonetheless.

Mizuki used her Rapier to cut the spear in half, and the moment she did a spike of Earth pierced towards her from beneath the ash on her left side.

A blind spot. Yet she managed to dodge, only sustaining a cut on her ear.

Freezing the wound shut, Mizuki threw her own Ice spears.

Her Ice spear on the other hand were different, she made the magic circles that she has been using herself after all.

The Ice spears flew fast towards the enemy while spinning clockwise yet they were mostly parried or dodged regardless, only one ended up hitting an extra's leg that slowly began to freeze shortly after.

Mizuki then summoned a few lightning spears to strike from above.

Everyone got hit by this attack. One lost their already frozen leg, another an arm and Jackson got a wound on his ear.

Mizuki took the chance where they flinched in pain and threw two daggers that both exploded into pillars of lightning.

Yet they were dodged.

Mizuki then took a step forward, grabbed her rapier and charged in.

The enemies took this chance to throw spells and do as much damage as they could.

They did not hit her as Mizuki cut the spells made of ice and earth and dodged the rest acrobatically.

Reaching the first extra who had lost his foot, Mizuki swung her sword but missed.

The man was on all fours or rather all threes. On both hands and his remaining leg, he held his greatsword in his teeth.

He then used his mana to launch himself forward, due to the unpredictable attack, Mizuki lost her foot starting from her ankle.

Quickly creating a spare from the ground, Mizuki regained her balance just as a sword was making its way to her neck.

Flipping and going into a handstand, Mizuki pushed herself into the air only to see a man with one arm already in front of her.

With a giant axe coming for her face, Mizuki felt danger behind her and used her most powerful skill.

[World of Silver and Obsidian]

The World, The Universe, no. The Multiverse turned black and white with only one being able to move.

Mizuki landed on the ground and threw a dagger each to the people floating still in the air.

The one in front of her had already made a few spears from the ground and launched them from his sides.

The one behind was the one-legged man who still had his greatsword in his mouth and was about to decapitate her from behind. He also made a giant spear of ice that would descend from the air.

This. This is what death would look like.

Mizuki turned towards the one who was barely unscathed and shot her gun.

A bullet of space left the cylinder and stopped the moment it left. Everything that is not making direct contact with Mizuki will be stopped in time.

"*Sigh* this is bad."

Mizuki deactivated her skill as it took way too much mana and shot her gun.

A bullet of time left the cylinder and stopped immediately after.

Mizuki jumped back and made spears of shadow beneath herself in case the sword extra would come from behind again.

The bullet of Space only managed to take an arm.

The two daggers managed to injure the two men further but it did not kill them.

'I don't have that much mana left.'

Mizuki started gathering her mana in her gun. The only way to end her enemies is to get them in a straight line and shoot through them all at the same time.

Mizuki started buying time.

She raised all her traps from the ground.

Tens of modified [Dome of Hell] skills flew around the air.

The orbs started launching towards the Pirates.

Not towards their bodies but the ground surrounding them.

They were soon surrounded by hellfire on all sides as they could do nothing. The only escape was above them, the sky.

The ground was out of the option since they don't know if any more of those traps are hiding there.

The axe-wielding man jumped to the sky.

"Wait!" Jackson yelled but it was too late.

A burnt and melted body fell back to the ground with his axe reduced to ash.

Mizuki had manually detonated a. [Dome of Hell] orb above their only escape route.

"I should have a minute or so." Mizuki thought as she kept pouring mana into her gun.

Walking towards her still floating bullet, Mizuki slightly pushed it with her finger so it pointed towards their direction.

She had a plan. But it was put on hold.

A big slam was heard behind her.

The Southern Wind Hydra had appeared.

Mizuki swiftly dodged the rain and lightning surrounding it with teleportation.

"F*ck. I need to kill this shit first or it might just save the trapped bastards. This is really making this harder for me."

Teleporting above the beast's heads, Mizuki threw her Rapier with all her might while making it as long and durable as possible. Luckily for her three heads got impaled out of nine.

Teleporting away, Mizuki modified the Rapier from a distance and made it burn. Or rather she made the mana surrounding the blade extremely hot.

The rest of the heads tried to free the impaled three so they could regain their movement.

All the while, Mizuki was bombarded with lightning and water spears.

Seeing that all the heads were in position, Mizuki teleported next to the hydra and cut the air with her hand vertically.

Eight out of nine heads were cut off.

She cast a fire spell on her hand and a shield of flame was materialised.

'When a beast is heavily wounded, it loses all sense of reason.'

With all but one of the heads gone, the Hydra was now free to move.

And the first thing it did was try to smash Mizuki into the ground using the headless necks. Every time one of them hit her, the wound was burned shut.

Yet the beast still kept attacking with lightning and brute force. It was enraged.

Mizuki used the rest of her flying daggers to deflect the mana draining lightning and rain spells aimed at her ad they would further decrease her mana.

Since gaining a Divinity, her mana had started to regenerate at a much slower pace, she needed to conserve it as much as possible.

The heads could soon no longer regenerate as Mizuki took this chance to throw an orb of mana at the beast and teleport back to her ship.

Using a cannon that was yet to be destroyed, Mizuki aimed and fired at the ball of mana she could still feel the presence of.

'I could have just poured my blood on my sword but then it would die too slow because of his big body and the small wounds I can open with a Rapier. Besides, healing a wound would be too troublesome and cost me mana if I were to try and stop the bleeding.'

The cannonball retaining her blood shot straight towards the Hydras back and penetrated all the way through and soon afterwards, it fell. Dead.

'Good thing I had a few extra.'

Quickly using her remaining time, Mizuki teleported back and activated the still floating bullet while infusing it with extra mana.

The bullet pierced through the body of the Hydra and through a [Dome of Hell] and yet again it pierced something.

This time it was the lung of Jackson and the sword of the extra.

They were now perfectly next to each other as the extra tried to keep Jackson standing.

Raising her gun, Mizuki aimed.

But this time her gun was aimed at the wrong person.

Her gun disappeared from her hand and all the mana gathered inside it was released back on her.

A huge hole appeared in Mizuki's back.

The hole pierced through her and the ground as well.

Looking back, Mizuki could see a face.

Maryse.

And what she said was...

"Hey, there 'cap'. Fid you know that I also know a bit of Space magic? No? Too bad."

Mizuki looked towards the forest.

"Why didn't your 'crew' come to help. Why would they? They never liked you in the first place."

Mizuki turned back to Maryse and started casting magic.

"Oh, no-no-no. I can't let you do that."

Using her sword, Maryse cut off Mizuki's hand.

"Now. Let us go someplace where we can have a better chat."

Mizuki was then teleported to her own quarters that wad mostly intact if you ignored the cracks in the wood and the few holes.

Maryse sat on her chair as Mi, uki was lying on the floor.

"Well. I'll be honest. I don't have a lot to talk to you about. I just wanted to come here to see your pathetic face grovelling on the floor in front of me."

Maryse stood up as she threw the desk at the wall.

Walking towards Mizuki, she crouched down and raised Mizuki's chin so they could make eye contact.

"Still not even a trace of emotion, huh."

Mizuki then violently coughed blood all over Maryse.

"Disgusting."

Maryse said as she let go of Mizuki's chin and started kicking her.

Again and again.

'I can't do anything. She used my strongest weapon against me.'

The spell on her soul. Broke.

'I don't want to die..'

"You b*tch thought that you were above everyone around you huh! Well, look at yourself now! On death's door, ringing his doorbell and begging to be let inside."

Maryse had a disgusting smile. She kept kicking.

"Ahh~. This is the best feeling. Kicking the shit out of someone who thinks they are above others."

Maryse crouched back down, took her sword and stabbed Mizuki through the heart, pinning her to the wall.

"Well. That sure got me going."

Taking a closer look, Maryse frowned.

"Your face. It is too pretty."

Using a fire spell she punched Mizuki in the face. Again. And again.

After a minute, Maryse finally stopped

"So. You're still alive? Well, I wouldn't want you to suffer forever. I don't have that kind of time. It is time for your death."

Taking deep breaths in between because of both stamina loss and a weird sense of lust, Maryse took out her sword and let Mizuki drop to the floor.

'I.. don't.... wanna...'

"I'd love to play more but... this is goodbye. B*tch."

Shoving her sword through Mizuki's throat, she pulled it back out and did it again.

"Well. That was satisfying."

Leaving her sword, Maryse turned around and left.

The only thing in the quarters was now a dead body and a trashed room.

Chapter Title: Passing On

[Well well well isn't this a surprising end? No ex Machina, no jape to be found. Main character? Bit the dust. But the story must go on. And no, I will not have any time travel. That shit gets confusing. Anyway. See you in volume 2 (Living Legends) which will be released in a couple of months. And hey, who knows? Maybe this entire volume was just... the prologue.
