Chapter 37: Swimming Lessons

I wake up to the smell of cooking fish. I don’t think I’ve been asleep that long, certainly not more than an hour. My MP hasn’t fully refilled, but I’ve gotten enough back that I’m no longer in danger of falling over if I try to stand.

The fish is delicious, and neither of the other two says anything about my nap. They just eat and look around.

“I don’t think the lake is entirely safe yet,” Daniel says, “and I’m pretty sure the dungeon entrance is down there.”

“You think so?” Petra asks. “Why?”

I think I understand where he is coming from. “What else would it be guarding?” I ask. “If it’s not the dungeon entrance, there’s definitely some kind of treasure down there. Possibly a treasure chest.” I groan. “Which we’ll have to pick to get open, I’m sure.”

“Underwater lockpicking?” Daniel asks. “Sounds like a pleasant activity on a hot day.”

I laugh. “See if you still think that while fish try to eat you.”
