Dungeon Divers Guild

Half an hour later I arrived at the western gate. It was similar to the one I entered which should have been the southern on. The main difference were the people here. Most of them looked liked warriors in a plethora of different Armor and with all kinds of weapons.

Swords, hammers, bows, staffs, there seemed to everything here. People in robes and staffs and others in leather armor with small daggers or throwing weapons. I even saw a fucking chakram. Was that fucking Xena? For a moment I deliberated if I should ask her if she was a warrior princess. It would come over pretty strange though so I kicked that stray thought out of my brain.

Looking around I saw the biggest house I've seen so far. It was fucking huge. There must be at least 5 stories! That must be the Dungeon Divers Guild. Over the big double doors, there was a sign which looked like the entrance to a cave. Yeah, definitely the Dungeon Divers Guild.

Not wasting any more time I walked in and looked around. Yeah, it looks like the description of every fucking adventurer's guild you have ever read. On one side was what looked like a shabby pub with people mainly drinking and some eating. There was a boisterous sound coming from that side.

The other side of the room was full of different counters with people standing behind it. Some were exchanging materials for coins and others were just talking to the people. The only thing different from your regular adventurer's guild seemed to be the lack of a quest board or something.

There was only one counter with no people standing in front of it. It had a sign hanging over it saying "Registration". That was the place for me it seemed. I was glad to see, that this time it wasn't an old robust rabbit man but a beautiful young woman. Though she was a bit lacking in the chest department. Since I wasn't here to flirt I ignored it.

As I walked up to her counter she smiled and said "Welcome to the Dungeon Divers Guild. My name is Aiwin Fenven, are you interested in registering?"

I nodded and said "Yes I am. I come from a small village far away so can you tell me about the advantages of signing up?"

"Of course. First of all, only people registered with the Dungeon Divers are allowed to enter the dungeons. This is because a lot of people used to go in there without preparation so it was decided that only people registered and informed fully understand what they are getting into. For that, we made a Dungeon Guide in which you can read about all the dangers you could encounter." She took a small booklet out from under the counter and handed it over to me.

"In there you find a description of what dangers are in dungeons and also a short introduction of what you usually need to prepare to go diving. Now, as a Dungeon Diver, you get an ID card with which you can enter almost all cities for free. The Dungeon Divers Guild also has a training room in which you can either train for yourself or pay an instructor for lessons. The last benefit you'll get is the possibility to sell your harvest to the dungeon guild directly. This way you don't have to search for stores to sell each different resource. Of course we will buy them at a slightly lower price then if you sold them directly but it is a service which saves you a lot of time and haggling." She told me what there was to know.

I nodded and said "That sounds good. I guess there is a fee for registering? And will I have to pay further to keep my ID?"

Smiling she said "Yes there is a fee. Registration costs 5 silver and if you lose your ID you have to pay for a new one. You don't have to pay anything for staying in the guild but should you form a team you need to register the team and each new member has to pay a one time fee of 5 silver. Only registered teams are allowed in the dungeon, so you need to do that should you find a partner." She then looked over something and added "Oh, I almost forgot. The Dungeon Divers Guild also has their own priest. So if you want to change your class to another one you unlocked you can do that here. It is slightly less expensive then if you went to a priest in a church. Remember that you lose all skills and only get 50% of the bonuses of a class which is deactivated."

I looked at her confused and said "Aren't priest healers? Why do they also change classes?"

Looking at me with a disbelieving look she said "No of course not. Priests only ability is to change classes and view unlocked classes of others. Only healers can heal of course."

Shaking my head at my own misunderstanding I said "Thanks for the clarification. I'd like to register in that case."

She took out a small metal plate in the form of a credit card and said "This will be your ID. You need to put a drop of blood on it and it will show your basic information like Name, Race, and Class."

I handed over 5 silver and took the plate as well as a needle from her. Pricking my finger and pressing a drop of blood out onto the plate it began shining white for a moment. When it stopped glowing I saw that there was writing on the plate now. Aiwin took the plate back and said "I just have to copy down the information to file it with us and then your officially a Dungeon Diver. Congratulation."

After she finished copying down the information she handed the ID back to me and said "It's finished now. Remember that you need to update your card at least once a year to keep it. That's why there is a stamp with the date on the backside. Is there anything else I can help you with?"
