Early years

It has been a few months since I made the first attempted wandless magic without 'SAGE'.

I only succeed after 3 months of daily practice to make the ball float.

My mother has started tutoring me in Potions and etiquette. To prepare me for the future as lord black.

Today my family is leaving for the ministry ball for yuletide, I am currently staying behind by convincing them that Sirius is too young to stay at home with house-elf alone.

But my real reason for not going to the boring ball is to search for the book on occlumency and legilimency in our library, only to find a single book and few parchments on them, it looks like mind arts are only available on a need to know basis.

Even then the book only had basics information like-

Occlumency was the magic of closing one's mind against Legilimens. It was ancient and had existed since the medieval periods. It could prevent a Legilimens from accessing one's thoughts and feelings, or influencing them. A wizard or witch who practised this art was known as an Occlumens.-

And,

-clearing one's mind — making it "blank and empty"-

Dissatisfied that I couldn't get an legilimens to practice my occlumency, I decided to copy a certain grandmaster of mind arts from certain fanfic, by isolating a specific part of my mind and practising legilimency and occlumency in that specific part of the mind.

-----2 years later-----

In these two years, I have made significant improvements in both mind arts, although my occlumency is much better than legilimency.

My occlumency shield comprises five layers the first layer is of false memories, to confuse novice regimens, the second layer is made of blood-red fog, which makes them lose any sense of direction and feel them up in a terror, the third layer is made of a lava lake with no end, the fourth layer is another layer of false memory, then the last layer is made of numerous hexagonal prism each one has a single memory so that even if an intruder made it this far they have to break through multiple prisms to get any information they want, truly wasting their time.

Although legilimemcy hasn't made any significant progress I can wait till Hogwarts to practice it on the students.

A year ago father tried to teach me the duty and politics of heir only to fail terribly and taking off politics out of it.

Despite this, my studies in magic involving wand under the supervision of my grandmother are progressing excellently as I have completed the second year of the Hogwarts curriculum and started the third year.

But subjects like ancient runes and wards, and alchemy will likely be left for Hogwarts itself, mostly because no one has enough confidence in me to not make a mess in our house.

Lastly, my mom has finally given birth to my youngest brother Phineas nigellus black born in 1847.
