Chapter 3
(Ember's POV)
We get to school and go our separate ways. Now remember when I said I am a pure white werewolf? Well that means I have to be really careful because not only is my fur rare, but I am also unmarked.
I walk over to my locker and see Nathan at my locker. I sigh. Nathan is my ex boyfriend who just doesn't realize that we aren't together. He still wants me. It really annoys me honestly. He is the next alpha of the Red Moon Pack which is the Blue Moon Pack's enemy pack. I broke up with him because of that and because he thinks all a mate is good for is protecting and sex. I brace myself for torture.
"Hey gorgeous!" he exclaims as I get to my locker.
"Nathan, seriously stop. What do you want? I ask.
"You. I want you to be my mate, my Luna, my wife, my everything." he replies.
"We each have our own mates that the Moon Goddess made for us. You have your designated mate and I have mine."
He growls and puts his hands on my locker trapping me with his arms and under his scrutinizing gaze.
"I don't want another mate. I only want you." he whispers in my ear, making me shiver at his cruel tone and not in the way Chris makes me shiver.
"I have a mate, maybe it's time you go find yours." I state and duck under his arms and walk away from him. I get to my first class and down next to my brother.
"Did you ever find your mate?" I quietly question.
"No, but I can sense they are somewhere in the school." Ethan whispers back.
It seemed like class lasted forever and finally it is time for lunch. I made a new friend named Emily and she is Ethan's mate although she doesn't know it. She is just a human but she is really cool. I invited her to come over to my house after school.
"Let's go sit at that table?" I suggest. Ethan and Emily agree and we sit down.
"I got to go make a phone call, I'll be right back." I sat and go outside. I dial my dad's number.
"Hey Dad, I'm going to bring a friend home today. She is only human so can you make sure no wolves come into the house?" I whisper looking around to make sure no one heard me but I know my dad heard me.
"Ok honey, I will. Thanks for letting me know and I love you." he replies.
"I love you too." I comment. I go back inside and sit back down with Ethan and Emily.
Suddenly the whole cafeteria goes quiet for like two seconds. I look up and see Nathan with his friends. He is looking around like a werewolf looks when they are hunting. When he sees me, he smirks and starts walking over to my table.
"Ugh," I groan.
"What?" Emily asks.
"Sorry, it's just my ex is walking over here and I obviously don't like him anymore but he doesn't get the hint." I reply
"Hey sexy," Nathan flirts.
"Okay, I'm leaving. Come on Emily and Ethan." I state and walk out of the cafeteria with them.
School ends and I'm waiting for Chris to pick me up. I told Emily to go with Ethan to our house in the limo because I had to talk to a teacher. While I'm waiting for Chris, I feel an arm wrap around my shoulder.
"Get off me, Nathan!" I snarl and move away from him.
"Babe, chill. Your growls are hella sexy though." he responds.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Chris' car. I see him smiling in the car but then he gets out of the car and sees me and Nathan. His eyes turn black and I get scared of what he is going to do.
(Chris' POV)
I don't even think about the consequences of my actions, I just act. I can't stand some douche bothering my mate. Getting out of the car, I storm over to this douche.
"What the hell do you think you are doing?" I growl, seeing red. I catch his scent, he is an alpha. That won't stop me from kicking his ass. Ember pulls me away from this useless piece of shit and I follow her back to my car.
"Who the fuck was that?" I demand and look down at Ember. She looks very sad and downcast so I calm down and put my finger under her chin to get her to look me in the eyes.
"He's my ex boyfriend and I broke up with him a long time ago but he thinks he can still win me back. Also he is the next alpha of the Red Moon Pack.
"Shit, how did I not know that?" I curse and sigh.
I then push her against the car taking her lips in a deep bruising kiss, claiming what is mine. She whimpers against my mouth and parts her lovely lips for me and I insert my tongue in. I push harder against her, trying to leave no space between us as I devour her mouth. Feeling eyes on me, I turn around and see the douche glaring at me. I turn back to my stunning mate and kiss her harder, staking my claim on her mouth. Lifting her up, she wraps her legs around my torso and I squeeze her ass.
"Chris...." she quietly moans. I pull away before I end up taking her here and now. I carry her to the passenger seat, set her down, and she gets in the seat. Getting on the driver's side, we head back to the pack house.
