Xiao Weiwei looked at where Ye Miaomiao and Hu Ying were sitting - front row, desk nearest to the window. Seeing Ye Miaomiao's delicate appearance, Xiao Weiwei understood why her brother liked her. To be honest, her looks were more elegant than gorgeous - she had clear skin, big dark brown eyes and small pink lips. When she smiled, her eyes narrowed and her personality was very calm and gentle. When Hu Ying and others were with her, they felt very comfortable. This kind of comfort is hard to get from normal mistresses of big families because most of them were arrogant, domineering and self confident. So Ye Miaomiao was a big contrast and this led to many boys calling her a school flower
Hu Weiwei was also a goddess in many people's eyes because of her shy and withdrawn character. Xiao Weiwei felt that this gave her natural advantages when trying to play a pitiful character because no one would ever suspect her until her diary is found.
Ye Miaomiao seemed to be studying very seriously because her pen was moving very fast and she was also turning various pages of the textbook. Occasionally, Hu Ying would turn to ask her a question and their relationship was very harmonious. All the other students seemed to ignore this and continue on with their own conversations and shenanigans. No one looked at Hu Weiwei and no one wanted to speak to her. In fact, it's not that the other students never tried but Hu Weiwei never replied when they asked her questions and after a while they all just stopped putting in the effort to talk to her because it was useless.
Xiao Weiwei glanced at her desk mate who was also seriously studying and then retracted her sight. At this moment, it was still a couple of months before Hu Weiwei realised that Hu Ying and Ye Miaomiao's relationship was abnormal so Xiao Weiwei could also make some plans with a peace of mind. She glanced at her desk and also found her maths workbook open with half written calculations there but her mind was elsewhere.
She couldn't decide whether to take the love route or the power route. The thing that annoyed her the most was that in this current era, it was indeed extremely disgusting to have a relationship with family members regardless of whether they were related or not. Step brothers or step sisters in a relationship would automatically be shunned by society and drowned in malicious hatred. Xiao Weiwei put her hand under her chin in a concentrated thinking posture and continued thinking about her strategy. The bell rung and self study was over. Various students packed up their books ready to move to other classes for different subjects. Xiao Weiwei flipped her self study book forward and found that her first lesson happened to be English and she didn't have to move classrooms. She quickly got out her English vocab list and started memorising it as fast as she could. She would speak every word to make sure that her pronunciation was right but this made her deskmate next to her stunned.
Li Xiaoyan had been sitting next to Hu Weiwei for the entirety of second year in middle school and never heard the girl speak the entire time. She was extremely quiet as if in her own world and Li Xiaoyan respected that so she never asked her questions or disturbed in any way. But today, it seems that not only were pigs flying but the sun was rising from the west because she finally heard a voice from her deskmate.
Li Xiaoyan was so excited that she nudged Xiao Weiwei to ask: "Did you speak just now? I couldn't hear clearly! Speak again!" Xiao Weiwei giggled: "Li Xiaoyan, why are you so exaggerated? Haven't you heard me say things before? Like replying to the teacher and so on?"
Li Xiaoyan slapped her shoulder playfully: "I've never heard you say more than 2 words in one breath! Have you thought it through and decided to have a vigorous middle school experience? I have to say, l was a little worried about you since you seemed to have no friends..." Li Xiaoyan continued talking so fast that Xiao Weiwei didn't have a single chance to interrupt or add to the conversation but she wasn't annoyed about that. In fact, she found it very amusing. Hu Weiwei didn't even know that she had someone worrying about her in class so Li Xiaoyan's words made Xiao Weiwei's heart warm.
But then there was a loud noise in the back of her mind: 'Di...di...di...the villain is not supposed to have friends...any more sweet interaction will cause your villain index to drop!' Xiao Weiwei felt the onset of a headache and massaged her temples to relax the nerves that were stretched taut from the loud noises. Then, the system also spoke: "Quickly! Say 'display villain index'! You need to know how much just dropped from this interaction!" Xiao Weiwei repeated the words and two bars came up infront of her. One of the bars was the villain index which was at -10 and the other was story completion which was at 30.
The system wanted to smash its head against the wall. "How the hell did you get a minus score on your villain index? What did you do?"
Xiao Weiwei was also confused. All she did was reply two sentences to her deskmate and the index immediately dropped by 10 from 0. She said this to the system and the system also understood. "Actually the biggest reason why the index dropped is because you weren't acting in a villainous way. You have to grasp the way to trick the main system into judging your actions as villain but maintain your friendships around you."
Xiao Weiwei thought this kind of task was very abstract and didn't have a defined way of guiding taskers. Clearly, she also thought that villains aren't allowed to have goodwill to anyone except the person predetermined by the plot. So the only 'friend' she could have was Hu Ying. 'But then there's a loophole! As long as l do not feel goodwill to anyone, l can technically still have genuine friends but none of them would know that l was pretending to hate them in my heart for task completion.' Such thinking calmed Xiao Weiwei and reassured her that she wouldn't be alone on the journey to becoming a villain. The system also saw that she had her own plans so it didn't interfere and calmly continued watching.
Li Xiaoyan also got along well with Xiao Weiwei and the two became fast friends. Xiao Weiwei didn't hesitate to make all sorts of foul plans and threats against her to gradually increase her villain index back to 0.
After various classes in the morning, the bell rang and it was time for lunch. Hu Weiwei already had a pre-cooked lunch from home so Xiao Weiwei carried that to the school garden to eat. But as they say, enemies meet on a narrow road because she met Ye Miaomiao and some other girls in the furthest space of the garden. In fact, every student tacitly knew that this space was used for bullying and targeting because it was very well hidden. It was a blind spot so no cameras could capture the things that happened. Ye Miaomiao was surrounded by 6 girls all of whom had very good family backgrounds and she seemed to be very embarrassed. Her shirt had been torn and her skirt was also ripped in various places. There were also some scratches on her left cheek. She never fought back because she knew that any of those girls could make her family life a living hell.
Xiao Weiwei also saw that there was a leader of this group of girls sitting right behind Ye Miaomiao arrogantly sipping a cup of tea as if she was in a cafe and not witnessing campus violence. Xiao Weiwei remembered that this was another one of Hu Ying's admirers - Hong Lili. Hong Lili had a very high status because her family was a military family and it had a deep background. Because she was the only girl in the family for decades, she was very spoilt and many people rushed to have some connections with her. She was also the one who continued bullying Ye Miaomiao after Hu Weiwei was defeated. Seeing this scene surprised Xiao Weiwei because the plot never mentioned Ye Miaomiao being bullied before Hu Weiwei. 'The story plot is unreliable!' - such a thought scared Xiao Weiwei because it meant that there were many facts that she couldn't trust.
As her mind was quickly turning, things for Ye Miaomiao were also worsening. Hong Lili put down her cup of tea and recalled her group of friends back. Then she glared at Ye Miaomiao: "You better stay away from Hu Ying! A commoner like you wants to rise and enter high society? Keep dreaming." She then pushed Ye Miaomiao to the floor and used her high heels to step on her back. This kind of shameful posture humiliated Ye Miaomiao whose confidence came from her high intelligence and she swore to retaliate thoroughly in the future. One of Hong Lili's friends took various pictures of Ye Miaomiao's discomfort and then threatened her to keep quiet about these events lest her pictures were posted on the school forum. Ye Miaomiao, who was accustomed to being called a goddess on weekdays felt that these kind of photos would diminish her goddess status in the eyes of men so she nodded her head vigorously. Hong Lili let her go, flipped her hair and walked away fashionably, her friends behind her rushing to get away from the scene as well.
Xiao Weiwei watched this all happen and then a plan gradually formed in her heart. She grabbed a pale pink handkerchief from her blazer pocket and offered it to Ye Miaomiao.
Ye Miaomiao was also startled that there was someone who was willing to offend Hong Lili and help her. At first, she felt very embarrassed and didn't want this girl to see her situation but class was about to start and she couldn't stay in the gardens too long. She grabbed the handkerchief and quickly wiped away all the dust from her face and clothes. Xiao Weiwei also handed over her spare uniform without saying a word and Ye Miaomiao also put it on without shame. After she was dressed, she turned to really look at her saviour and was surprised to see Hu Ying's sister Hu Weiwei.
In fact, she had no impression of this girl but she couldn't deny that Hu Weiwei was extremely cute. Her skin was a rosy pink, her lips were plump and her eyes were very round. Her eyelashes were also long and every time she blinked, she looked even more cute and harmless like a hamster. Ye Miaomiao resisted the urge to pinch her cheeks. Standing next to Ye Miaomiao, Hu Weiwei was 10 cm shorter and they looked like a natural pair of sisters - one elegant and hardworking, the other quiet and cute.
Xiao Weiwei knew that there was nothing else to be achieved now so she turned around and ran away. Ye Miaomiao wanted to call out to her but the words died at the tip of her tongue. She sighed and continued to her next class. As a scholarship student, she couldn't be late.
Xiao Weiwei went to the cafeteria to finish her lunch because she had no more afternoon classes left. She didn't know how abnormal this decision was because as she walked into the cafeteria, many people stared at her in shock and wondered what she was doing. She ignored all these states and continued eating - there was no way she could instantly reverse other people's opinions of her but without talking, her actions showed her intentions even louder.
